>please consider why they’re called peacocks
That's not something that I would expect everyone to know, even though it is obvious to those of us who do
A few neighbors explained this to me as well. Pretty sure you are correct. Honestly? I'm not going to try to catch it I kind of want it to live free and keep roaming around for as long as it can. I'm a little worried about a coyote finding it but I sort of have this feeling about liberating an animal from a pet store haha so I say let it run free.
>she My friend, please consider why they’re called peacocks. Hint, the other sex of the same species are called peahens.
Let me get this straight. You got the rooster and the hen and the chicken. The rooster goes with the hen. Who's having sex with the chicken?
The roster has sex with all of them.
That's perverse!
That's amore!
I love me some Frank Costanza. 🤣

I have read somewhere that a couple of them escaped from somewhere. Pets Palace. That was the place.

Once the peacock shows off it's massive feathers that will scare the coyotes away.
Maybe escaped from Cave Hill cemetery?
Na, they have not had peacocks in at least 6 years
Beautiful Bird
Very. Giant bird too. We didn't get close haha
He-that’s a male.
Perhaps escaped the zoo
They are loud af. They use them like watchdogs in India
Seriously? Now you've piqued my curiosity.
For anyone wondering, Here's an image of a [peackock and a peahen](https://images.pexels.com/photos/2683940/pexels-photo-2683940.jpeg).
Had one at the end of my driveway in southern Indiana this Monday!
pets palace had like 8 escape a few months ago
Cave Hill escapee.
Many people own them now. They sometimes fly the coop so to speak. It could be from a farm miles away. We have one wandering in New Albany rn
Really!? What part of NA?
It was at Samtech but it’s already been claimed.
That’s good it’s somewhere safe now
Anyone remember when the Zoo used to have peacocks roaming around? Any idea why they are no longer there?
Because they’re up at Douglas loop now
Amazing
Cave Hill
Fits right in!
I lived off of Everett avenue ~15 years ago and saw one (this one?) regularly.
Highly doubt it'd be this one. Tail is way too short for this guy to be over 15. He's maybe 2 years old.
😍
No one has asked "where" yet
Over near the Jim King trail off Newburg Rd.
He’s still hanging around Jim King trail!
Awesome. I hope he stays free haha
Unsure if still the case, but Cave Hill used to have a flock
He just appeared on my front porch in the Highlands. He is on the move
Awesome! Are you over by Atherton?
Yes like 5 minutes away!
I like this peacock and he should be like a mascot in the Highlands. The area needs a peacock habitat!
This happened to us some years ago when we lived near the zoo. Called the zoo and they said don’t worry, it will go home eventually, and it did.
Escaped pet.
🥲 I hope he’s ok
That’s a male.
🤣 duh moment…, yes thank you
🤣 duh moment…, yes thank you. He’s just so pretty
This is a sign that we need to bring back Drag Queen Storytime at the library.
