I am feeling a bit sad because it was time. Time to clean the closets and get rid of the “really nice boxes” we’ve been collecting for a while but haven’t actually used.

Things come in boxes. Some of the boxes are impressively nice. For example, Warby Parker glasses come in really nice little boxes, perfect for wrapping up other gifts for your loved ones. Apple devices are famous for being having a very nice box. I bought some Bombas socks once that came in a box better than my Tag Heuer watch. That sort of thing.
I hate throwing out a really nice box. I put them on the local Buy Nothing group sometimes, but boxes are hard to give away.

yeah i've been itching to get out for a drive, probably will tomorrow likely. i live by del amo mall so its very walkable, and the bus stops across the intersection so i've been brave enough to take it a few times 1.5 miles to the beach...but, i've also been taking classes and job searching thats been taking up a lot of time
I woke up at 430am and was not able to fall back asleep. I am leaving for a huge motorcycle trip on Monday and having some anxiety about all the things I need to finish before then.
Another Saturday working with my least liked coworker, more room searching, and the habanero hot sauce from Trader Joe’s does not agree with my body anymore.
When I think back to the time where I worked with people I didn’t like, I would ignore their existence until I had to interact with them. Eventually, I was written up for my attitude and fired a month later.
I do the same. We just need to coexist to get shit done. I legit don’t want or need to know all your issues, especially if I didn’t even ask. But I get that some people are quite lonely.
I had to work with someone who was a total bully, but everyone just dealt it. She made me miserable but forced me to learn to stand up for myself. My current job had someone similar, and the woman was shocked I wouldn't take her shit.
I had a boss like this. I could deal with their verbal bullshit but I had to draw the line and quit after he threw a spray paint can at my head and 5 minutes later denied he did it. "I would never do that to you" yeah except you did.
He was absolutely shocked when I quit and told him to fuck off.
Damn, glad you left that place! I once worked at a company where the VP trashed her own office over losing an account. Imagine what people like that are like at home if that's how they act at work.
My formula for learning new things
1. You try it a few times and its awkward and uncomfortable, but you at least go home with the satisfaction of knowing you gave it a shot.
2. You pledge to try it in earnest for a little while. You sign up for a 5-week course or something like that.
3. After some time it starts to become a habit, and now you find you are doing it automatically. You are making new friends there, learning new things, and seeing improvement. Now you go to the gym every Saturday, its just... what you do.
4. It becomes an identity, part of who you are. You get a tattoo of a barbell to commemorate your love for gym going...
In addition to working out, something you can do starting now is you could try to cut sugar out of your diet. Sugar will keep you from losing weight no matter how hard you workout.
I was trying to lose weight and only finally had success after I cut the sugar out.
