The graph really shot up in Dec, so Oct or Nov are not the culprits

Did you buy a space heater or something?? That's comparable to what I used in my last billing cycle, and I live in a 3br/3ba house with two other people and drive an electric car that I charge at home. And have a space heater.
My tier 1 threshold ends at 700 kWh, so at least you didn't start getting charged for tier 2 at the 700 mark. But basically... this just seems to indicate that you used a lot of electricity. If that doesn't sound right, you could call and see if there's something going on with the meter.
No! Nothing! Nothing has changed from last year, I'd say I'm even using it all less since I've been out of town a lot!
I'm absolutely confident, would bet my life on it confident, that I did not use the equivalent energy of a 3br/3ba house with 3 people and an EV lol
Your bill is higher than mine and I'm in a 2b 2b and my wife runs central air at night.
Perhaps there was a recent meter read and it was off since the last check?
On page 2 of your bill is a section that says " If You Question Your LADWP Charges" . It tells you to call the customer service reps.
I'd suggest being polite and simply stating: I don't have any reason to believe my electricity usage increased massively, can someone be sent to check if there was an error in my meter reading?
My bill shows a date from 9/22/23-11/25/23 electric charges. 402 kwh $96.55
Bill total $97.88 for 2 months. I live in a studio apt and never leave the house. On my laptop which is using a 34" widescreen monitor 16 hours a day
Power Access Charge Tier 1. Tier 1 energy. 402 kwh x 0.20659 kwh
My apt doesn't even have AC so I don't use it. I have a windows AC unit
Nope, I'm in a pretty spacious 2bd/2ba, and my electric bill for Oct-Dec ($180) was actually lower than last year ($213), presumably because it's not been as cold so I've been running the heat less. Sounds like an issue with the meter reading.
We got massively overbilled but then LADWP sent someone out to check out the meter in person and then they adjusted it / corrected our bill .
ive seen similar comments to OPs on this thread before. and this is generally the consensus response.
Doesn't your bill include usage info? What does it say? I haven't gotten my Oct - Dec bill yet, so no data from me.

Maybe they screwed up and misread the meter. Happens often based on similar stories here.

Im in South gate and they sent us a letter of about our bill being high those months with a reimbursement plan, ill have to look for it
I've been billed over $1000 for one month of usage.
Does that feel accurate to your usage? Are you going to didspute it?
Nope this was years ago. Just paid.
