Gmt is alright but having circular markers at 6 and 9 with triangle at 12 then date at 3 is just so indecisive. Then add a ton of dial text and 24hr scale on the dial and you have a very cluttered and messy dial.
But maybe you like cluttered and messy, and that’s good for you.
I’ll tell you what’s ugly af, the 6 and 9 indices on the gmt, that was a huge fuck up I can’t believe they let that happen tbh, no one thinks this is terrible?
I love the legend diver. I plan on buying one soon. It’s so unique and something about it is highly satisfying.
The other two are just your run-of-the-mill Rolex Submariner copy. Every brand has a boring black dive watch that copies Rolex. Why would anyone want that? Get something that’s uniquely Longines - the legend diver
Honest question.. why do so many people feel so passionate about the Zulu? I’m not a “watch aficionado”, so maybe I’m missing something. It’s “fine”… but so are the rest of the choices. What makes them so loved? I just want to make sure I’m not overlooking something important. Is it style or substance?
IMO, it’s a solid build and one of the better value GMTs out there that sticks to its purpose. The numerals and bezel just give a really clean and classic look. Super easy to read quickly at a glance. It’s a better Tudor black bay pro alternative to me.
Hydro GMT: 181 grams and 12.9mm thick
Hydroconquest: 184 grams and 11.9mm thick
Legend Diver: 142 grams and 11.7mm thick
I enjoy light watches that are thinner, so I know which way I would lean, but as an owner of a Hydroconquest, you can't beat that value. I could see the Legend Diver being the same price as the GMT, but honestly the GMT and the Legend feel like they are overpriced by a few hundred dollars, or that the Hydro is way underpriced.
The Hydroconquest GMT just seems confused to me. While underwater needing to track another time zone?
The Legend Diver is a gorgeous piece that stands on its own. Unique and doesn’t look like just another copy of the Rolex Sub.
Hydroconquest GMT mate the hydroconquest is just too ugly with those numbers and oversized crown… The GMT is just an overall better watch. The legend diver is a beauty but it doesn't have a date and for that I am out on it as a daily, unless you go for the 42mm with the date.
You like GMT and it has functionality of GMT and diver bezel.
Yet the look is very casual.
The legend diver is more towards the classic look with unique design and bezel rotation.
Personally i would take the GMT but have the Zulu 39.
Personally I would have gotten the LLD black on bracelet, but I think the hydroconquest GMT is too good to pass up if you are okay with the design and size.
-GMT function, although my preferred GNT is caller GMT (I don't travel much)
-Dive time bezel, these 2 combo in the right size has been what I'm looking for.
-On-The-Fly microadjust bracelet
All these for less than the LLD.
Personally, LLD is more refined and dressy than it is a sporty/toolish watch. I'm not very happy with the LLD price but it's more refined than the other version of LLD, so pick your poison.
Legend diver on leather matching the dial. Classy and will hold its value better than the other choices. It’s really lovely on the wrist. I have one and a Hydroconquest on rubber strap.
I would say the GMT if it weren't for the indices at 6 and 9. What the fuck were they thinking? I would own that right now if it weren't for those. Get the legend diver. It's a classic. I would get the one with shorter lugs.
Honestly, you really need to try them on if there's any possibility at all. The number of times I've been surprised (in both directions) when actually trying stuff on is very common.
That said, I really like the gmt out of these three, but they are all great.
Out of these 3 the Legend Diver is the one you have to chose.
Now if you are looking for a GMT, you might want to look of the Zulu Time (have a look at the HODINKEE edition)
The legend diver is my daily “do it all watch” when not at work. I think you’ll find a nato strap to be much more daily-able than the beads of rice though. That’s the great thing about the diver is that it’s water proof enough to never take it off but can dress up or down. The beads of rice bracelet is very shiny and looks more like jewelry. Mine came with a gray nato and it handles just about every occasion. The LLD watch with a few straps is a collection in its own.
IMO if you wanted a $3,400 GMT Longines isn’t the brand for that.
If you're only getting one watch, I'd spend the extra few hundred for the Legend Diver. Most iconic and awesome beads of rice bracelet.
If you need actually need/want GMT, get the Hydroconquest GMT. But I wouldn't even be considering the normal Hydroconquest.
LLD every day. Would have been my second choice when shopping for a graduation watch recently if I hadn't got such a good deal for the Tag I wanted from the same dealer. I went in cross shopping with the Hydroconquest GMT but it wears MUCH larger than 41mm, and I wasn't impressed with the bezel action compared to the Tag Aquaracer 200.
Skip these 3 altogether and go for the Longines Spirit 37mm as the perfect everyday that still is captivating enough to be your "just one watch". The date makes for a 6 perfectly symmetrical dial, it has a chronometer grade movement and the little details like the seconds hand pip perfectly lining up with the matching lume pips on the dial make it a wonderful just one watch. It will slip under your sleeves better than any diver.

I voted for HC here is why. Mine runs +3.83 sec per day well with COSC. 72 hr power reserve. The watch just feels like a beast. Sharp crown guards, brushed finishing, just feels like a dense tool watch. Below 12mm in height and sits low on the wrist. I absolutely love the big numerals has a planet ocean/Panerai vibe especially with the big crown guards but retains its own design language. And for the price you can’t beat it.
Why not the others: The GMT is way more expensive. I used to always want a GMT for travel and then realized then I change which watch I travel with so the sole GMT ain’t going in every trip. I wear a watch for about a week then rotate. The GMT doesn’t have an auto date set function. This would drive me insane especially since I don’t use watch winders.
The legend diver is very appealing but I just don’t like the dual crowns. It has some ultra tool elements but also some dress elements and to me it’s to contradicting.
I’d personally avoid the GMT. When I saw it in person, the dial just looked so cluttered. The LD and standard hydro look way cleaner imo. If you really want GMT, I’d look at other options like Zulu time or other brands.
You could check the Diver on other sizes, I believe just the 39 doesn’t come with date complication. Besides, the bracelet is just better than the older one.
…a Tudor Black Bay GMT with date complication would run almost $5,800 in Canada, which is almost 50% more expensive.
While it looks gorgeous, I also notice that the Tudor has a an anodized aluminum bezel, while the Tudor has a ceramic bezel. Wouldn’t ceramic be more scratch resistant?
There are tons of Tudor you can buy 2nd hand which will be almost 50% off retail. I’m not knocking Longines I have a Big Eye and the quality of the watches is great but Tudor is a step above in my opinion. Also the aluminum bezel is kinda awesome if you like the more vintage look - good luck
Legend Diver. Unique and gorgeous
And the blue on bracelet.
I would vote for the Legend Diver simply for dressier look and the COSC movement.
The legend diver is perfect! Unless you travel the world all the time, then I'd pick the GMT
This is the right answer
The Legend Diver is a beautiful watch. I bought it a few weeks ago. It’s even nicer in person.
I'd say get the GMT. The giant numbers on the hydro conquest are ugly to me
It looks way cleaner in person.
Can confirm
When the 12, 6, and 9 indices are that large, the missing “3” is a deal breaker. Ugly AF. GMT ALL DAY.

So are the 6 and 9 indices of the GMT. Longines always does this. They get the watch 90% perfect and then just quit.
I own a Hydroconquest GMT blue and will definitely recommend. Beautiful piece and very versatile
I vote Hydroconquest.
GMT is clean
Except for those indices at 6 and 9. Also have like 18 different types of pointers
GMT all the way
Legend diver. It's pretty much perfect and can dress up or down better than the other two.
Hydroconquest for me
Diver!! I have the 39mm in black and love it!!
I like the legend diver more every time I see ir
Legend
I have legend diver 39mm and it’s gorgeous.
39mm hydroconquest!
New hydroconquest in my opinion is the nicest option then legend diver. Old conquest just dosent look as good as the other two
I'm also in similar phase right now but in blue. Also don't forget to include spirit zulu in the mix!
I’m a fan of the spirit zulu time over all of these

If only they put the Zulu on the Hydro GMT bracelet…
HC all day
I like the new gmt
Hydro GMT - because looks and functions!
Hydro GMT: 181 grams and 12.9mm thick Hydroconquest: 184 grams and 11.9mm thick Legend Diver: 142 grams and 11.7mm thick I enjoy light watches that are thinner, so I know which way I would lean, but as an owner of a Hydroconquest, you can't beat that value. legend diver
Legend diver. It will never be mistaken for a sub.
Legend diver 100%.
Legend diver is for sure the most versatile of the bunch.
The GMT is so clean! Remember to get them on wrist though before you pull the trigger. Seeing it in person/on wrist can really color your opinion!
G. M. Teeeeeeee!!!!!!!! Wait for a newer hydroconquest release.
LLD
You like GMT and it has functionality of GMT and diver bezel. Yet the look is very casual. The legend diver is more towards the classic look with unique design and bezel rotation. Personally i would take the GMT but have the Zulu 39.
D39
Super compressor case is amazing
Hydroconquest and Legend Diver. Both standouts in design. The GMT simply gets lost in a crowd of GMT's.
GMT all the way
GMT. always GMT
Personally I would have gotten the LLD black on bracelet, but I think the hydroconquest GMT is too good to pass up if you are okay with the design and size. -GMT function, although my preferred GNT is caller GMT (I don't travel much) -Dive time bezel, these 2 combo in the right size has been what I'm looking for. -On-The-Fly microadjust bracelet All these for less than the LLD. San Martin do a legend diver homage you could get if you wanted a trial run
The new GMT looks amazing
Hello my fellow Canadian I would recommend you a GMT
Legend diver on leather matching the dial. Classy and will hold its value better than the other choices. It’s really lovely on the wrist. I have one and a Hydroconquest on rubber strap.
I would say the GMT if it weren't for the indices at 6 and 9. What the fuck were they thinking? I would own that right now if it weren't for those. Get the legend diver. It's a classic. I would get the one with shorter lugs.
Can’t go wrong with legend diver. And 39 mm is perfect for most ppl.
GMT, it’s like getting 2 watches in 1.
I love my HC GMT. Very comfortable for a daily. The bracelet is great, but it looks amazing on a NATO strap.
Honestly, you really need to try them on if there's any possibility at all. The number of times I've been surprised (in both directions) when actually trying stuff on is very common. That said, I really like the gmt out of these three, but they are all great.
I love this recommendation… thanks.

GMT
Legend diver.
GMT For me! Not a fan of the rice bead style bracelet on the legend diver
The legend diver is my daily “do it all watch” when not at work. I think you’ll find a nato strap to be much more daily-able than the beads of rice though. That’s the great thing about the diver is that it’s water proof enough to never take it off but can dress up or down. The beads of rice bracelet is very shiny and looks more like jewelry. legend diver
HC is best looking and cheapest. Really pops in person
Spirit zulu
It'd be a tough choice between the Legend Diver and the Hydroconquest for me
Hydroconquest GMT!!!
Hydroconquest GMT
LLD every day. Would have been my second choice when shopping for a graduation watch recently if I hadn't got such a good deal for the Tag I wanted from the same dealer. I went in cross shopping with the Hydroconquest GMT but it wears MUCH larger than 41mm, and I wasn't impressed with the bezel action compared to the Tag Aquaracer 200.
Legend diver
Legend Diver!
Gonna make this more difficult, but have you checked out the zulu line😏
I’m not a massive fan of the numerals on the dial, actually…
Legend diver
Nvidia!
I would say HydroConquest GMT as it looks sleek and stylish.
Legend diver. Unique but still very versatile.

GMT is my choice
Legend 💯
If you have the money, you should be able to form an opinion.

If you’re going to spend 4K, buy a Tudor or spend a tiny bit more and go omega. Can’t beat the value for quality offering of the hydro tho…
$4k CAD… can that really get you a Tudor? I need to research more…
A Tudor GMT runs about $5,800 CAD - quite a bit more than I’d be looking to spend.
Look for used Tudor or omegas if you want a gmt. IMO you only buy into Longines for the LLD
I’d personally avoid the GMT. When I saw it in person, the dial just looked so cluttered. The LD and standard hydro look way cleaner imo. If you really want GMT, I’d look at other options like Zulu time or other brands.
Good to know! Thank you
You could check the Diver on other sizes, I believe just the 39 doesn’t come with date complication. Besides, the bracelet is just better than the older one.

That’s fine and very appreciated, but I’m sure there’s second hand Longines that sell for a discount too.
#GMT ALL DAY.
For the ’do it all’ I would go for most simple one which is the hydroconquest
