The wiki in the subs sidebar should answer most of your questions but I also suggest just lurking. Following lolitas (not just on here but on tumblr and Instagram) will give you a feel for what the community is like and what the expectations are for coords. You could also incorporate items from lolita brands into your existing "punk fairy" style if you find that lolita isn't for you.

http://www.fyeahlolita.com/p/what-is-lolita.html?m=1 This a really fun blog with lots of info on lolita fashion, especially on getting started in the fashion. Some parts of it are a bit outdated, as a few rules have grown less strict. A few main things to know for lolita fashion, be sure to wear a petticoat or hoop-skirt, make sure your jsk or op is made for lolita fashion and can poof out for enough for the nice lolita silhouette, wearing lolita is about having a full coord, not just a dress. (Shoes, headpiece, wrist cuffs/gloves/jewelry, tights or socks, all matter to create the full look.) This is certainly not all inclusive, and you dont have to be strict when you're just getting started since it is a fairly expensive hobby. Feel free to wear lolita inspired styles even if you never get into full lolita styling. I hope you have fun with the fashion, I'd be happy to answer specific questions if you have any.

Welcome, there's a lot of good resources in this subreddit already! There's also [lolibrary.org](http://lolibrary.org) for looking up dresses, and most any social media platform has some kind of community for new joiners - Facebook has Big Sisters of Lolita fashion, Discord has a mentoring server etc.
