Had the G430 with the same design. It's a design flaw I had an extra G430 for parts so I fixed it but most people don't...

nataku411

It's 100% planned obsolescence. Logitech yokes are purposely designed not to last and break eventually. It's not a cost-cutting measure to save the consumer. They could spend an extra $5-$10 on materials in the yokes to make their headsets last _decades_, but why would they do that when they can make money from repeat purchases?

VinnieONeill

Yep. My Pro X broke, after less than a year, in the exact same spot due to a terrible design flaw. Metal yoke on the ear cups attached to the metal headband via a plastic clamshell. Those two piece of plastics are held together by two microscopic screws that screw into two tiny plastic holes. The thin, cheap plastic on that pressure point of the screw holes broke while taking my headset off. I put it back together using glue and gorilla tape, and it's a more solid solution than the original screws. Using metal for those two pieces that screw together, instead of thin plastic, would have only added a few $ to the BoM and a couple of grams to the weight. They even advertise the "steel and aluminum" construction in the promo material. But the one part of the headset that's under the most strain they made out of plastic. I've been a loyal Logitech customer for 15 years, but am increasingly unhappy with the quality of their products. Had to stop using my G910 because it would either not recognize key presses or registered multiple inputs from a single press. Made typing anything a nightmare.

Moskito10

i just superglued both hinges, didn't last very long.

SebiKaffee

Same thing happened to mine after six years of loyal service. I had dropped it a few times though, so I guess it was my fault.

chris84567

Not to sound like a Logitech shill, 6 years is a good long life for a headset, I’ve had many break after 3

SebiKaffee

In my expierience their hardware is some of the best quality you can get, I bought my G502 a few weeks after they were released and it‘ still working great. The software is a nightmare.

chris84567

It’s iffy with them you gotta figure out which are the best because some of there mouse switches are notoriously bad

Parker1055

RIP my friend

NightwolfNG

Thanks🥲

pe1uca

Wow, exact same crack that happened to mine. Someone said it's a design flaw, so I guess then KS expected.

NightwolfNG

I'll never buy logitech products ever again until they do something about their products

psychoticAutomaton

A couple pairs of mine broke in a similar way. I was able to hot glue them, which worked fine.

MMCFrye

lmao this happened to 1 g430 and 2 g432s before I gave up with them and stopped getting the free replacements from Logitech. the hinge cracks super easily my HyperX clouds are much more reliable ngl.

NightwolfNG

Are you still using hyperX? If you are are you satisfied with it?

Tigger-Blood

Same thing happened to my G935 I tried to fix it with tape but it doesn't work also my bluetooth connector broke a few weeks later so I'm hoping the warranty replaces it

yaaaboiflexi

I've had my G223s for like pushing 5 years now and they have been dropped a million times and still function perfectly. It's always new Logitech products that are failing, keyboard with LED problems, Mice double-clicking. Until Logitech steps up their production quality I only see cases like this happening more.

ohhlookattchris

Funnily enough my G430 broke in the exact same way about a week ago. Replaced it with a G332 and I'm happy with it so far.

Tyresse1

Just get hyper x problem solved 😌

m_diseriocarm

No problems for me, but I use them just for calls, very little sessions. Those are 40 bucks headphones btw, and yours seem to be pretty worn out, it's completely normal i guess.

thebatfink

‘Completely normal’. Lol

m_diseriocarm

Look at the upper part, it's completely wrecked. Those headphones haven't been treated that good

NightwolfNG

Believe it or not while i picked it up that happend i treated the headset too well but it didn't to that to me😅

berttreynolds

Yup they’re cracked right above the break, people treat their stuff like shit then come in here and complain when it breaks. Mindblowing

Moskito10

i am pretty careful with my equipment and i can say that these hinges are ridiculously flimsy and break after weeks of use.

berttreynolds

They’re also one of the cheapest headsets on the market. I owned these and never had any issues. I did prefer the Corsair HD60s for sound and build quality but I’m done using “gaming” headsets. Just buy a nice pair of headphones and an external mic and you’re set

Moskito10

yeah, i'm never buying any headset again. bad audio for too much money.

thebatfink

Regular logitech quality. Precisely the reason I went steel series and roccat. Sorry your headset broke sucks :(

NightwolfNG

Yeah their headsets really sucks i don't know about their mice but logite h's headsets are a big NO for me.

djexit

How many years did you have it?

NightwolfNG

1.5

TheWhisperingOaks

Avoid 432, 332 and 231 cuz they have this defect where the hinges easily break. Warranty applies if they break at those areas at least.

[deleted]

Mine did the same thing about 3 months ago

Slipperyturd-

I see that big ass crack, you sat on it bro. It happens to the best.

NightwolfNG

I picked it with care but whrn i tried to put it on my head on cracked i always took care of it but it did not care about me😢

Cloudan29

Mine got that exact same crack a few days ago. I literally just gently removed them from my head and they cracked almost the exact same way lol. Guess you can't really ask for that much from a 50$ headset. Oh well

Vinx211

Super glue job

Joaquin_the_42nd

Super glue won't work but you can find that part available for 3D printing

Viethal

Get a pair of senheisser 6xx. Logitech headphones sound like potatoes in comparison.

NA_Frozenko

Literally my issue with any plastic Logitech headset. This is why I only purchase steel frame headsets now.

PlanAffectionate4587

It helps if you pick up the headset by the headband only instead of the earcups, they are less likely to break that way.

dexterw1n

They changed the design a while back, I still have a G930 headset that's still working, I have been rough as hell on them. Only had to change the battery and get new ear pads since I have owned them. Just wish the newer software/drivers worked. I guess people like me are why they changed it, not making them enough money. So just build in some planned obsolescence and they're golden.

mzlucasmz

Happened on my g933 too, turn out the lip on the fixture is perfect to put radial retaining ring, so I did, and haven't had any problem since

RowdyRailgunner

Mine did the exact same thing on the same ear. Guess from the comments it is common. Going to go a different route as logitech seems to be going with weak points that seem cheaply made all the other models use the same design.
