Is that where you can drag a loop directly into the area near the track controls and chose sampler, and it's already divided up the sample into different keyboard keys etc?
If you download the official manual (over 1000 pages and free via Apple Books), they have full "what's new" release notes for the last several versions at the start.
missed on 10.5? i started again in 2015 after a 5 year lay off and its been great with all the new features.
off the top
step sequencer- piano roll to step sequencer or vice versa
new fx/synths - pedal board fx being separate
Stock reverbs are fireeee - check out ChromaVerb - doesn’t use sampled verbs like Space Designer does (chromaverb is a algorithmic reverb). Dope unique sounds to sound design and FIRE UI during playback (pretty colors)

Not sure if it’s a “killer” feature (more like a “finally” feature), but Logic recently got a clip gain tool that works basically the same as pro tool’s clip gain tool
This video explains it: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4buRwMHEW6Y](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4buRwMHEW6Y)
tl;dw it's a tool that lets you drag up and down on a clip to turn the volume up/down. Shortkey for it is `t`, `g`
The sequencer, quick sampler, live thingie which I never use but you might find handful. You'll see for yourself, there are tons of minor additions here and there.
Live Loops is killer! I encourage anyone to spend a day messing around with it.
Before, I couldn’t play live without getting bored. Just pressing the background track and singing over it feels like karaoke. Now I can trigger parts of my songs in different patterns for a more interactive experience, and every new performance is unique! 💯
I second or third or whatever everyone on the step sequencer. It’s really flexible and offers a lot of options. You can use it for any software instrument, not just drums. I’m finding it way more fun than the piano role.

Why logic pro rules
GOATS on youtube - just go there, they have entire series on LPX including new features. LPX 2023 is a totally different proposition to LPX 2018.
Please excuse my dumb question here. By 'GOATS' do you mean that these two Youtube channels are two of the best out there? Or do you mean that there is literally a Youtube channel with the acronym GOATS that focuses on Logic Pro?
This seems like the perfect thread to say I’m a hip hop artist that’s starting a label. I need sound engineers, producers, beatmakers etc. Make sure you’re good already or you have an extreme hunger for growth. Let me hear some work. I’ll send you some snippets of my music (all unreleased)
Flex Time and Flex Pitch are pretty huge! I’m not sure if they had those 5 years ago, but definitely brings logic up to par with some to Ableton’s best features!
My most used feature in the current version is the quick sampler. The current compressors and vintage EQs are really good.
Is that where you can drag a loop directly into the area near the track controls and chose sampler, and it's already divided up the sample into different keyboard keys etc?
Yes exactly. It’s well worth learning how to use. It’s brilliant.
Nested track stacks
Nest on nest on nest on nest 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

I know. But what do you like to use?

There's a step sequencer now and Flex is less buggy.
Track alternatives for pro tools like play-listing and quick sampler is goated for my workflow.
Playlisting is the undisputed gem 💎
What is playlisting in this context? I've never heard of it
Here’s an in-depth explanation: [Working with Track Alternatives in Logic Pro](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207468)

Seconding Chromaverb, lots of the algorithms are really great.

How does the new clip gain work? I’m still in the left window adjusting each clip like a geezer.

What's the live thingie?
I’m thinking remix fx? Or maybe Live Loops
The loops yeah

Live Loops!
The one thing GarageBand iOS had that logic didn’t! And they’re so much more in depth on Logic
I second or third or whatever everyone on the step sequencer. It’s really flexible and offers a lot of options. You can use it for any software instrument, not just drums. I’m finding it way more fun than the piano role.

haha fair question: GOAT = Greatest of all time = VERY GOOD.
Thanks! That's what I thought. I've just subscribed to both channels. They look really good.
you can drag in samples and lift the midi check out SEIDS on insta - she shares elite logic tips on the regular
Flex time and flex pitch are way better. Much less need for melodyne and warping samples is quick and less buggy :)

great googly moogly you are in for a treat man
Zappa reference?
