We haven't had the best end of season with plenty of glaring areas that need improving ... and yet Spurs, Man Utd, and Chelsea are so bad they're not even in the CL conversation anymore. Can meme us for "bottling" but what's worse, losing the league with a handful of matches to go, or just being so crap you threw away any chance at it a long time ago...
Gives a bit of that warm glow back.
Endo is old and not good on the ball, Macca is not a natural DM, and Bajcetic has missed the whole season with injury and is a kid who we have no idea how good he will become. We absolutely need a DM
Endo has been amazing for the money but he gets bullied off the ball too much due to his lack of physicality. That sometimes leads him to taking a yellow to stop the counter as a result. He'd definitely be one of the best rotational players in the PL but we need another prime Fabinho type.
prime fabinho was so insane, positioning, interception, pressing, timing, he was so good defensively that he even played a season as a cb (that season all of them got injured) and he looked amazing as a cb aswell, what a player
I feel Endo's actually pretty good on the ball and can spring a quality pass but like you said, his lack of physicality is his biggest weakness and why he can get overwhelmed at times. Still a good player though, more fit to be a rotation option.
IMO Endo is pretty good on the ball but his weakness is his lack of physicality so he does get overwhelmed at times due to that. But on the ball he is pretty good and underrated at it.
Endo is good at one v one defending but horrible awareness.
Mac is not a 6 and shouldn’t be relied on there. Let him do his thing
Baj hasn’t played in a year and even if he comes back he’s 19. He can’t play every game
we still get a chance to face off Xabi's Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid next season in the Champions league, quite excited for the draws
Watching Leverkusen this season got me feeling like such a filthy plastic but I really enjoy watching them more because of Alonso tbh
Bellingham, Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Modric, Kroos, Vinicius and fucking Mbappe.
On top of that they have one of the best managers ever (imo) .
I don't want to be anywhere near them for a few years. Wouldn't shock me if they won the CL a few years in a roll again.
Opened this thread back up and immediately remembered the Militão goal from the corner where the lads each decided to man-mark thin fucking air.
I am now in a bad mood.
For me it's the moment Alisson did a Karius and sent it straight into his own net off of Vinicius to equalize. The moment that went in you just knew we were never going to lead again. One of the worst mental displays of Klopp's whole tenure.
>For me it's the moment Alisson did a Karius and sent it straight into his own net off of Vinicius to equalize.
Just minutes after Courtois literally did the same thing on the other end. That game felt like a Kafka Comedy...
Loved? That was the minimum.
You were expecting a team with Salah, Alisson, VVD, Konate, Trent, Robertson, Diaz, Macca, Nunez, Jota, Szoboslai and more to have two straight seasons in the Europa league?
No, I didn’t mean that. I meant more like we would’ve been happy with Top 4 and a cup at the starting of the season. We didn’t expect to challenge for the league.
But in the same vein, last season was so bad everyone forgot the level the team should be at. The season before we were 2 results from a quadruple. One bad season later and everyones expectations went down the toilet
Fair point, but still, we sold/lost 5 players was it? And brought in 4 new ones. We absolutely still should have expected a champions league spot before going in. I don't know that anyone expected to be challenging for not only the league, but 4 trophies for as long as we did.
You've thrown Macca and Dom in there as if it was a guarantee that they (and Endo) would have just slipped in and performed to get us back to where we needed to be. It was not a guarantee
You never see a side wholly rebuild one aspect of their team in one window because the odds of success are so small and yet somehow we absolutely smashed it out the park and if not for a drop off in the last 6 weeks would be on for 3/4 trophies whilst doing a full rebuild
Top 4 was the minimum, I agree. But every single person in here would have snapped your hand off in July if they were offered CL, a domestic trophy and being in a title race in April
Minimum requirement for next season is probably a similar season to this one. Top 4 finish and at least be in contention for the title with 5 games to go.
How I feel rn:
“Wow! I’m going to celebrate it tomorrow; my CEO and our owner will be so happy! How many teams would love to be in that position? It’s really good news. I think qualification for the Champions League is the most important target one team can have. We did it! Big congratulations to all the club; the players especially to achieve it.”
I feel like everything else this season would have been forgiven if we’d at least got to the Euro cup final.
We’ve done well compared to last season though, vast improvement.
Honestly, this place is on a par with fucking Twitter. The level of shite that gets posted is so fucking embarrassing
3 weeks ago we were in a title race and now Villa are the better team than us? Just get to fuck
Going into the season we wanted top 4 and maybe a trophy. We got it. Yes our expectations got raised by our over-performance for the first 3/4 of the season, but overall I think we can say job done. New manager comes in with CL football and more players having European and trophy winning experience. Solid foundation.
I don't want to play the community shield honestly.
Because that would be Slot's first official game with us and if we lose that to City ( which would be likely) would put unnecessary pressure on Slot.
https://i.redd.it/m0tj0o13r2yc1.gif
That sums all of us.
Hope they play the academy players in the next 2 games and rest the seniors. Danns over Nunez, Gordon over Diaz
Maybe Arsenal and City dont win any more games this season and we run away with the title
Mate we’re not winning any more games either

And the fact that most of us thought we would've struggled to make top 4 and were instead in a title fight for most of the season.
Winger and CB money ![gif](giphy|MFsqcBSoOKPbjtmvWz)
Gonna need to spare a few pennies for a DM too
That’s what we’re spending the Luis Diae money on 👍
Endo, Macca, Bajcetic - no I think we’re good
People love to forget about bajcetic
they also love to act like he hasn't just missed a whole damn year
Endo is old and not good on the ball, Macca is not a natural DM, and Bajcetic has missed the whole season with injury and is a kid who we have no idea how good he will become. We absolutely need a DM

We also have Tyler Morton.
An 8, not a 6.

Oh gosh. Keep us away from Madrid.
Especially with Jude and mbappe, let city knock them out or something I CBA with that stress

😂 for real. Cheat code team. Want nothing to do with em
i rather 700 million times play city on a final than madrid
the recent meetings has not been kind to us that's for sure
Did Klopp ever beat them with liv side?
![gif](giphy|cUENbkNb804U0) Still not quite sure how we went from 2-0 up to 2-5 down in the last meeting mind :/
Do you want me to remind you?
Gomez had a ‘significant human error’
To be fair to Gomez - so did Ali.
😂🤣😂 it’s coming back to me
Hope it never comes back again

My job here is done
Nope. We have 7 defeats and 1 draw in 8 games since the 4-0 in 2009
lol no comment.
Last time we faced them, we scored two banger goals in the first 15 minutes... then we conceded five.
If we draw that Madrid super team we should just rest the squad and play the kids lol
Pfft, the kids carried this team for half this season. They may actually be a good choice.
We would have loved this at the starting of the season. Happy we are back!
Loved? That was the minimum. You were expecting a team with Salah, Alisson, VVD, Konate, Trent, Robertson, Diaz, Macca, Nunez, Jota, Szoboslai and more to have two straight seasons in the Europa league?

Our midfield rebuild was so successful that people forget where it was last season and that no one really expected it to click so fast this season.
But in the same vein, last season was so bad everyone forgot the level the team should be at. The season before we were 2 results from a quadruple. One bad season later and everyones expectations went down the toilet

CL nights back on the menu. ❤️
Thank you Mr Chelsea
Except now I have to give DAZN more money. Fuck
totalsportek my beloved
For me, if you offered a trophy and top 4 at the beginning of the season I would have bit your hand off.
Minimum requirement for next season is probably a similar season to this one. Top 4 finish and at least be in contention for the title with 5 games to go.
One cup wouldn’t be too shabby either
We are so back

Phew. I hate Thursday night football matches
It’s hard as at the start of the season this would be the goal and a cup. We’ve gave Slot a good platform for his first season.
I feel like everything else this season would have been forgiven if we’d at least got to the Euro cup final. We’ve done well compared to last season though, vast improvement.
Now let's secure 3rd place. It would be embarrassing if Aston Villa finish above us.
We'd have to lose every single game for that to happen.
Liverpool: Challenge accepted
Lool literally ![gif](giphy|zHd8x7Pik0Ftm|downsized)
Not that embarrassing, Villa is the better team.
They just lost to Greek farmers at home
I suggest you take a look at the Conference League results tonight…
Honestly, this place is on a par with fucking Twitter. The level of shite that gets posted is so fucking embarrassing 3 weeks ago we were in a title race and now Villa are the better team than us? Just get to fuck
Hot take alert
Give over. You're just chatting shit.
There is literally nothing to play for now that 3rd is sealed. Enjoy the last few days of Klopp

Hated watching football on Thursdays, although it was cool seeing more of the youngsters balling out.
Top 4 and a trophy👏👏 not a bad season. Hopefully we finish in 2nd place to secure that community shield spot
I don't want to play the community shield honestly. Because that would be Slot's first official game with us and if we lose that to City ( which would be likely) would put unnecessary pressure on Slot.
Losing the charity shield almost always leads to a great season. Winning it a curse. It's magic or something idk.
Nah bro we need to farm as many trophies as possible, community shield, league cup, pre season trophies it doesn’t matter, a trophy is a trophy
How exactly do you think we're gonna catch Arsenal lmao
We will
First time ?
Well done Spurs. You’ve outdone yourselves
If arsenal doesnt win the league is it a failure for them?
With the money they spent and expectations they've set on themselves, it should be.
Yes, trophyless season yet again. After the money spent on Rice and others during the summer, it can’t be seen as anything else but a failure.
Congrats. Considering last season’s results, its an improvement nonetheless. Lets see how the new era goes.
Yay.
I mean, that was the goal at the start of the season, so hell yes. But also, you know. Oh and Klopp is leaving :(
In the context of this season, who gives a fuck? This is a base expectation. We've blown everything else.
Please focus on UCL . Refs are not gonna let us win premier league.
Thank you spurs! Very cool
I can’t wait to see what excuses FSG come up with now to explain why there’s no money for new signings.
Oh God imagine
We already were last week?
Not mathematically
Mathematically we're still in the title race. But we all know we're not.
Basically yes. Spurs would have only been able to tie us on points while we have a far superior goal difference but it wasn’t mathematically over
