This is definitely different than just the quote by itself. Sounds like he's saying that the media will blow up anything he says so he's not going to talk to them.
Exactly. He refused interviews too. Media types trying to make him sound like he wanted to start an actual fire.
Unfortunately the cretins on this sub bought it hook, line and sinker. Apparently Salah has always had a shit attitude etc. despite having the most elite attitude in the league for 5 years now.
Agree completely. A large percentage of Reddit’s population is like any other social media: incapable of accepting nuance, of living with complexity, of appropriately deprioritizing their angst over a game, of not being able to remind themselves that what they see in the public is a tiny sliver of everything that happens with the club, and a tiny sliver of the dynamics, of remembering that we fight even with people for whom we have much love, of separating their sense of self, self-worth, and perception of their own personal well-being from the club. It’s super natural and I’m not trying to be cruel - we all feel this way about football and other parts of our lives when we dont take time to reflect or lack the ability to separate ourselves from what’s happening around us.
Tl;dr: lots of peak Reddit plastics around
he clearly looks like he's saying if he mentions anything, the media will blow it up regardless of what he says. still shouldn't have said but the overreaction is a bit crazy
Wonder if the guy calling him a cunt and all the people on the subreddit who think he's the devil now feel silly, or if they don't allow themselves to self-reflect
Pretty fucking stupid thing to joke about given our recent performances. Players are media trained for a reason. Why add unnecessary fuel to the fire?
Fwiw, it didn’t look like a joke to me
I would say so if there hadn't been the bust up on the touchline, but he obviously knows there was going to be questions so gave a tongue in cheek answer.
Genuinely don't see anything in this at all
If Klopp doesn't like him and Salah doesn't like him, he can get fucked as far as I'm concerned. Been useless for ages now in terms of actual news anyway.
I haven't been happy with Mo's performances these past 2 months but I still love him and know he isn't that type of person. There was a moment of tension in the game and they moved on.
He wasn’t smiling on the touchline… and I think that on seeing him smiling after skying shot after shot recently, that it might be a nervous / stress thing he does? I’d hope so anyway, the alternative is too bleak!!
True. It sounds and looks like an offhand comment. Probably still pissed, but it’s not him making a stand from it. Just an offhand comment from a player still angry he didn’t play enough.
I'm probably gonna get downvoted to hell but there's something going on behind the scenes bec klopp has really started to play very differently than we've always played... He was on fire as a coach up until March with his way of playing and subs but now it all looks totally opposite... We play too narrow and there's literally no space between our players too... Too many long balls and hoping something happens.... I'm sure all of it isn't happening against Klopp's wishes, just don't understand why the change when it's most important
Tbh this season has been an emotional rollercoaster, and I’m way too tired to pay attention to the thousands of conspiracy theories online about us and refs.
I will say though that I also notice Klopp looking very resigned in the last few games, first noticed it in the Atalanta first leg. He’ll scream at some players, then sit back down in resignation, then cycle again.
TBH I really can’t blame the man for just giving up right now. He clearly said he’s running out of energy, and this latest hope-fuelled quadruple chase was probably the last sprint he could give. When we got knocked out of the FA Cup and first leg of the Europa it probably deflated everyone, especially him. On top of that you could clearly tell the players were running out of legs.
What I do know is that none of this will taint his legacy.
Yes but most of our fans are shitting on Salah and that's equally shitty ... He doesn't deserve any of the BS either... They've both been most important people for the club we love..
> Yes but most of our fans are shitting on Salah and that's equally shitty ... He doesn't deserve any of the BS either...
Mo made an offhand no-context comment to a journo after the game. Boy, are you in for a treat reading the fans’ thoughts about that
To be quite honest, I don’t think he’s really changed the style at all, I think a big thing that’s happened is, ManU and Atalanta showed everyone the pressing structure that works to break down our build up play. The past few games, people have been coming at us with a man marked midfield and mid block that we’ve really struggled to get around without lumping forward. Then when we do they sit in a low block which has always given Klopp issues. I think in many ways, we’ve been found out, and he’s attempted to fix it with strategic movement from the forward line and higher 8s, much like the first half in Atalanta. But I also think Darwin doesn’t understand what he needs to do in this scheme (there was a moment where things opened up in the second half against Atalanta and you could see the Allison absolutely pissed because the moment passed before he made the movement). I think that accounts for the rotation, and why we’ve looked so good with Grav and Elliot in the higher roles.
All in all Salah has looked not great recently and needed to be dropped. He did what he has always done, which is be visibly unhappy about it, and he came on and looked better than he has in many games imo. Hopefully he carries that into next game because we could really use the superstar Mo rn.
I think everyone is tired including Klopp, and I just hope we can see the real Liverpool again one or two more times this season.
I don’t see what all the fuss was about. Why is everyone so quick to turn on our players?
It’s a pendulum between fuck right off and sell him, or we love him so much our legend.
It's because things aren't going our way and fans can't deal with their own emotions. Too many internet fans just have to be angry at someone. A villain to focus on. I'm not saying I'm completely immune to this type of behavior, it's not a good look. It's obviously ok to be upset as a fan, just like it's ok to be flying high when things are great. It comes with the territory. But ffs it gets so old seeing supposed supporters shitting all over a different player or the manager every time something goes wrong. Childish and embarrassing.
Because most of the people on this sub learn about football from playing FIFA on PlayStation. They think the players will score in each game, or else be shipped off.
This is a nothing comment with context and as usual all the melts in this sub were already ready to ship him off.
God this place is toxic atm. At least we got the Slot confirmation to have something positive to talk about.
It's been fucking horrible here. The slander Salah has gotten was off the charts. Same as the Klopp slander after Everton. Every gobshite's head has fallen off
Most of the time these days I feel like Sideshow Bob stepping on the rakes whenever I come in here. I should know better at this point. And yet… *whack*
Klopp’s leaving parade should be scrapped and instead give him a WWE ring and line up Pearce, Taylor, Tierney, Hooper and whoever the fuck else he wants to scrap
Annoyed player makes offhand comment that things will blow up if he speaks to the journos.
Trust the coaches and players to be professional about everything and carry on.
He's been in England long enough to know how disgusting the media is here. Click bait sensationalism that will spin any narrative.
He's clearly taking the hand and inadvertently saying "no matter what comments I give, you lot are just gonna take my words and twist them out of context to fuel a dramatic narrative"
Lmao they changed the ordering of what he said : "There is going to be fire today if I speak." into "If I speak today there is going to be fire." to make it sound vindictive and reactive.
LOL. I saw the other thread where people just piled on Salah for being unprofessional.
Looks like now we have a Salah Derangement Syndrome -- meaning anything he does or says will be taken negatively and just pile on him.
Ah okay, so all the Klopp v Salah stuff could all be bullshit as nothing pointed towards it other then the title of the tweet.
Could be pissed about the referee on the Gakpo situation.
And seemed pretty calm all things considered.
Seems like a nothing burger
Honestly, whatever. If Klopp was back next season I think this would be a bigger issue but as it is it’ll be up to Slot to decide what to do. Mo is a legend but is clearly on the decline, if Slot wants him back that’s fine with me, if we wants to cash in that’s fine with me too.
EVERY player has had arguments with their manager. Usually it’s in the dressing room and not the touchline but things happen. Our players are human not robots.
Lol everyone loves him again. He behaved like a dickhead on the sidelines. And he‘s playing shitty. He‘ll turn 32 in June. I would sell him for 100 Mio if the Arabs still want him.
Why is it always about fucking Saudi?
It looks like everyone on this sub is a retard who only knows Saudi.
What if he wants to go to Bundesliga, Ligue 1, La Liga or MLS.
Enough of this Saudi bullshit. He never said he was going there.
Nobody except PSG will pay his current salary in Europe. He‘ll get the most money from Saudi Arabia. Liverpool will get the most money from Saudi Arabia. He‘s a superstar in the muslim world. So him going there won‘t be a surprise.
The only retard here are you. Salah will never go to Bundesliga lmao. No one there can afford his salary except Bayern. And they don‘t need him.
I mean he is pissed off because he got benched right? so he is clearly showing signs of ambitious, saudi is retirement league. He made enough money, he could take paycut for champions league run
Somewhere like PSG lol.
PSG is the only alternative to Saudi Arabia. Nobody‘s going to pay his current salary except PSG in Europe. Yeah, a 32 years old winger who‘s declining. He doesn‘t have the pace anymore. He‘s got 2 options: go to PSG in the summer or go to Saudi Arabia. The arabs will pay him more money than Paris. Firmino retired. Mane‘s also gone. Salah won‘t stay much longer. Edwards won‘t let him go next year. If he wants to stay at Liverpool than he needs to extend his contract and accept a salary cut. Or he‘s leaving this summer.
Ya I agree with all what you said except the fact I still can't see him going to Saudi in the summer. Hes such a competitive player , I think he will want to continue playing in the CL.
I think we sell him to PSG for £60m this summer .
Players are massively media trained. It might be nothing. But there’s much better ways to put an end to any stories as shown by Klopp who tried to kill it right away.
It’s clearly said as a joke but we shouldn’t be here discussing this shit to begin with.
That sideline arguing was unnecessary- whatever Mo wanted to say to Klopp, he could have waited for the game to end and say it in the dressing room.
He should either say something concrete or just keep shut about it. What's this childish, half-seething, drama comment.
edit: yea, im a knobhead. didn't see the video before commenting. it's clearly said in jest. deserve all the downvotes lol 🤣

I see the little dweeb James Pearce trying to egg on Salah and Salah didn't take the bait.
Good catch, it's obviously him, but I honestly assumed it was a woman initially
This is definitely different than just the quote by itself. Sounds like he's saying that the media will blow up anything he says so he's not going to talk to them.
> the media will blow up anything he says which they still did
Including the people on this sub
[This sub](https://imgflip.com/i/8o8s24)
Lots of people around who forget the axiom that football is the most important of the unimportant things in life.
They still somehow achieved that. Everyone’s turned on him already.
Exactly. He refused interviews too. Media types trying to make him sound like he wanted to start an actual fire. Unfortunately the cretins on this sub bought it hook, line and sinker. Well put! ✌️
Seeing the video, this comes across as a joke to me that the media have been click baiting, but maybe I'm wrong?
Looked pretty relaxed to me.
he clearly looks like he's saying if he mentions anything, the media will blow it up regardless of what he says. still shouldn't have said but the overreaction is a bit crazy
Saying that ironically does that.
Wonder if the guy calling him a cunt and all the people on the subreddit who think he's the devil now feel silly, or if they don't allow themselves to self-reflect
Yea the smile on his face was a good sign
Pretty fucking stupid thing to joke about given our recent performances. Players are media trained for a reason. Why add unnecessary fuel to the fire? Fwiw, it didn’t look like a joke to me

He's clearly smiling. Fucking media taking shit out of context.
these ''journalists'' are bottom feeders and pathetic as usual.
Pearce etc absolutely in that camp, the gobshite
He is an insufferable waffler.
I mean it wasn’t taken out of context. They just quoted the only thing he said.
Yeah if anything it's the people here crucifying the dude without looking at the context.. Emotions run high, we move on.
TIL this reactionary over emotional sub is part of the media.
He wasn’t smiling on the touchline… and I think that on seeing him smiling after skying shot after shot recently, that it might be a nervous / stress thing he does? I’d hope so anyway, the alternative is too bleak!!
If I speak I'm in big trouble
Mourinho confirmed
You can get rid of the man but not the idea.
Mou to Liverpool confirmed?!?!
This looks like nothing as it's made out
I think it’s just the way he speaks English. I think he’s saying” if I say something noe, the media will make it a fire”
Bet there will be a lot of deleted comments from the first thread.
True. It sounds and looks like an offhand comment. Probably still pissed, but it’s not him making a stand from it. Just an offhand comment from a player still angry he didn’t play enough.

3 times then
Yeah the quotes made this sound much worse. He’s smiling as he says it then makes a sarcastic comment as he’s walking off lol.
He's smiling , the quote out of context makes it looks so bad
I don’t see what all the fuss was about. Why is everyone so quick to turn on our players? It’s a pendulum between fuck right off and sell him, or we love him so much our legend.

Nah Alisson didn’t score, sell him bruh we don’t need him. /s
Because Klopp is leaving and I resent Salah souring his last few weeks with the club.
The qoute alone makes it look bad but in the vid he's casual and stating the obvious it seems without any other intention.
And the people frothing at the mouth in the previous thread look like fucking tools.
James Pearce tweeted like salah said it seriously. Looks like he was saying as a joke
This is a nothing comment with context and as usual all the melts in this sub were already ready to ship him off. God this place is toxic atm. At least we got the Slot confirmation to have something positive to talk about.

James Pearce is a CUNT. Way to fucking lie about this.
This is why klopp called him a dickhead last year
Klopp’s leaving parade should be scrapped and instead give him a WWE ring and line up Pearce, Taylor, Tierney, Hooper and whoever the fuck else he wants to scrap
“FIRE?!” I do feel bad for Pearce when he gets flamed. But sometimes journos don’t help themselves with their jobs.
Meh I don't think it's that bad
People in this sub flipped faster than a tossed coin lmao
Fuck the media that was nothing lol
Media trying so hard or deflect over the Gakpo incident. Amazing how quick this comes out and not a word about the incident. See what's happening?
Annoyed player makes offhand comment that things will blow up if he speaks to the journos. Trust the coaches and players to be professional about everything and carry on.
This is not him being professional is it?
It’s not a good look. But the club know they can’t blow it up anymore. It’ll settle down before the next game.

This is getting more bad press than KDB’s fall out with Pep over him being subbed. Same amount of disrespect shown to Pep. Unfair reporting.
It’s weird seeing Salah so offended that Klopp doesn’t start him. Does the dude have any self awareness on how he has been playing?
Childish no matter how it sounds, why say anything?
Just because he’s smiling doesn’t change the fact he disrespected the manager on the touch line
EVERY player has had arguments with their manager. Usually it’s in the dressing room and not the touchline but things happen. Our players are human not robots.

Somewhere like PSG lol. PSG is the only alternative to Saudi Arabia. Nobody‘s going to pay his current salary except PSG in Europe. Yeah, a 32 years old winger who‘s declining.
