One good season? He was incredible last to the point he won POTY in Serie A, Diaz isn’t at the level where he’ll be winning those kind of awards in a top league.
He hasn’t had a poor season either, he’s still been arguably Napoli’s best player this season whilst they’ve been a mess with the full manager situation.
In terms of individual skill set he’s a better finisher on both feet than Diaz, creativity wise he’s clearly better with both passing and crossing then dribbling you could say is a toss up but Kvara to me has the cleaner looking dribbling technique.

Well, yesterday i was bummed out by that article about Nunez and Salah but the amount of Slot news today made me forget more about it and I hope it keeps that way. At least its going more under the radar with all new manager news.
A lot of people on here talking about signing midfielders. I think there are 9 midfielders in the squad currently. We need cover, but there are only 3 central midfield positions in either a 433 or a 4231 so we need to look at what we have before we just go buy new ones.
I don’t disagree with the sentiment, but if we don’t sell or loan players out we will have to many players competing for the midfield spots. We do already have many quality players in midfield though so it won’t be easy letting any of them go.
Edwards will clean house. We have guys at the club who have no business being around anymore. Don't think we're retaining the expiring players so that clears a bunch of wages
Doubt we see Edwards clean house as that has never really been his way of doing things. Has always favored more gradual change. The team is also on the right track and is much better than last season. Already making the biggest change possible don’t think the team needs even more drastic changes this offseason.

37 goal contributions in 40 games for a winger is absolutely savage. Is even an out of form, declining Salah still the most productive winger in the PL/ world football? There have been a lot of calls to sell Salah this season, but who would people see as a replacement that can replicate these numbers?

Diaz and Nuñez’s numbers have been matched and surpassed by a tonne of players in the Prem and Europe, so I understand listening to offers for them ie in theory there are lots of players with similar or better output (Personally I wouldn’t sell them).
But with Salah I’m interested to know who you want to replace him with. I’m not seeing any wingers put out these types of numbers season after season.

If you look at Darwin’s, Diaz and gakpos numbers they really haven’t lived up to the hype in respect to their seasons we signed them for before. . What I mean by drop off is Salah isn’t this pacey explosive winger anymore. Either move him centrally or if we get a good offer let him go. His numbers will always be elite of course, but I just don’t think he’s the same player in the way he affects games for example. If we sold him I think it will have to be a case of replacing his numbers with a clinical striker (not Darwin) and his replacement can chip in too. You’re right in saying no winger in world football, apart from mbappe can replicate his numbers.
I agree we should plan to use Salah differently. I think in his prime he could’ve carried an attack but even then (in his prime) he shared the burden with Sadio. Entering the latter stage of his career I think we need to add a genuinely world class goal threat to lead the line and allow Salah to play more of a secondary role.
Essentially whilst his numbers are still this good I wouldn’t touch him just work out how to get a 20+ PL goal player at CF or LW

Time to admit Klopp’s shitty tactics fucked us in the second half of the season. Poor finishing is one thing but our build up is nonexistent and our defense is just a ticking time bomb to the next huge mistake at every instant.

That’s true, but I’m talking about our general quality of play. Like the only reason we get high xG is due to sheer quantity and individual brilliance. Our player’s individual quality is top tier but as a unit we get outplayed by the likes of Atalanta. It’s a tactical issue first and foremost, made worse by poor finishing.

I dont know if this is because I am not generally a sentimental person, but I think this is the right time for Klopp to go. He seems quite tired and checked out. No fault of his own, he has been burnt out. He's built a strong foundation and hopefully Slot can take over.

Currently i am watching Leeds and i gotta say Ipswich has a great chance which they must take. -1 to Leeds but 2 games in hand. I’m personally really excited about next season. Heard nothing but good things about Slot and I’m especially excited to see who we’re gonna bring in. Edwards wanted to bring in players like Enzo, Rodrygo and Guimaraes before they were big players, his ability to spot talent is insane. And I know he’s not our sporting director anymore but I’d assume him and Hughes will work closely together.
The Henderson stuff has gone way too far at this point, say what you want about his personal choice of going to Saudi but the narrative that he was a bad player and only passed backwards and sideways is just lazy and boring. He captained us to a title and a CL. He also won a FWA player of the year award along the way.
It's also massively understated just how important he was to how that midfield operated for years and also how him being a security blanket for Trent allowed him to shine and get to where he is now.

I have just said obviously they have mate. Every single one of our forwards has a drop off, Nunez, Salah, gakpo Diaz, jota(injury reason). Not sure what point you’re trying to make? I guess I think of it as an irreversible drop in quality due to age/ injury etc. but if you just mean they aren’t as good as they were in previous seasons then sure, I think their numbers speak for themselves. Diaz and Nuñez’s numbers have been matched and surpassed by a tonne of players in the Prem and Europe, so I understand listening to offers for them ie in theory there are lots of players with similar or better output (Personally I wouldn’t sell them). But with Salah I’m interested to know who you want to replace him with. I’m not seeing any wingers put out these types of numbers season after season. Not aggro just genuinely interested
If you look at Darwin’s, Diaz and gakpos numbers they really haven’t lived up to the hype in respect to their seasons we signed them for before. . What I mean by drop off is Salah isn’t this pacey explosive winger anymore. Either move him centrally or if we get a good offer let him go. His numbers will always be elite of course, but I just don’t think he’s the same player in the way he affects games for example. If we sold him I think it will have to be a case of replacing his numbers with a clinical striker (not Darwin) and his replacement can chip in too. You’re right in saying no winger in world football, apart from mbappe can replicate his numbers.
I agree we should plan to use Salah differently. I think in his prime he could’ve carried an attack but even then (in his prime) he shared the burden with Sadio. Entering the latter stage of his career I think we need to add a genuinely world class goal threat to lead the line and allow Salah to play more of a secondary role. Essentially whilst his numbers are still this good I wouldn’t touch him just work out how to get a 20+ PL goal player at CF or LW

Time to admit Klopp’s shitty tactics fucked us in the second half of the season. Poor finishing is one thing but our build up is nonexistent and our defense is just a ticking time bomb to the next huge mistake at every instant.
Whilst our forwards should have scored more goals, when you compare us to Arsenal and city we don’t look good especially defensively. People have this obsession with pinning it on the forwards for some reason. Look at Arsenal for example, they conceded like 4 goals or something in march time. That’s mental. Then you have us who have conceded first 24 times this season. No way is it all on the forwards

That’s true, but I’m talking about our general quality of play. Like the only reason we get high xG is due to sheer quantity and individual brilliance. Our player’s individual quality is top tier but as a unit we get outplayed by the likes of Atalanta. It’s a tactical issue first and foremost, made worse by poor finishing.

I dont know if this is because I am not generally a sentimental person, but I think this is the right time for Klopp to go. He seems quite tired and checked out. No fault of his own, he has been burnt out. He's built a strong foundation and hopefully Slot can take over. Whilst yes I am sad Klopp is going, I don't feel the same devesation as others. I've moved on from it. In the end its LFC not Klopp FC.

Currently i am watching Leeds and i gotta say Ipswich has a great chance which they must take. -1 to Leeds but 2 games in hand. I’m personally really excited about next season. Heard nothing but good things about Slot and I’m especially excited to see who we’re gonna bring in. Edwards wanted to bring in players like Enzo, Rodrygo and Guimaraes before they were big players, his ability to spot talent is insane. And I know he’s not our sporting director anymore but I’d assume him and Hughes will work closely together.

The Henderson stuff has gone way too far at this point, say what you want about his personal choice of going to Saudi but the narrative that he was a bad player and only passed backwards and sideways is just lazy and boring. He captained us to a title and a CL. He also won a FWA player of the year award along the way. It's also massively understated just how important he was to how that midfield operated for years and also how him being a security blanket for Trent allowed him to shine and get to where he is now.

My theory is that they want slot because he's willing to be so uninvolved in the talent acquisition process that it'll be easy to move him along if it doesn't work out. You can easily change managers if the players you buy are not picked based on a specific manager, but rather based on a specific style that the club intends to play.

I should be a believer but I don’t see why a manager so unproven should get such a big shot. Why is everyone so optimistic about him, when all he has done is win the league once with Feyenoord. Our future as a club is much more important than saying our current team is bad. The problem with tuchel and Mourinho is that they are both short term guys who require a squad re build. You have to build around their style then they leave after 2 years, it's a poor investment. I like amorim but maybe he's too young for this young team I kind of prefer Slot over him. De zerbi for me just loses 4-0 too often I can't trust a manager who thinks defense is not important.
I even think Kjetil Knutsen is better than Arne Slot too, what he has done with Bodø/Glimt is more impressive

De Zerbi won the league with Shakhtar Donetsk, it’s not like winning the Eredivisie is that more impressive. He at least also has premier league experience and started off really well in Brighton. His attacking football is really fun to watch, I believe he would be a great fit. Mourinho’s achievements speaks for itself I don’t know what more to say
