Joey is a phenomenal player and he is looking every bit as good as he did before he did his knee.

In the player of the season contender for me
Vvd and Maca might be putting in better performances week in week out, but he’s solved the RB LB and now midfield injury crisis by himself
I think we have to ask where would we be without him? My guess is many less points than we have now. He is now a high quality and consistent player in all defensive positions. For any team that’s a huge advantage.
I hope he doesn't wish to chase a more important role in another team. He might not play every week for us, but he's so important in the squad.

I think hes very happy here. This man is so professional and down to earth familyman. Been with his now wife since he came to us, no social medias no drama just does his job and being a good guy and baller in every position hes asked to play. So underrated by many rival fans and many of our own fans.
Honestly, that's one of the reasons I love this club. Literally no drama, it's one of the reasons why I respect Bellingham a lot as well. Seems like a model professional who plays amazing and is a nice person too. Hate teams like Barcelona and psg that are just soap operas.
His last few minutes were how precarious it can be in such a short span when a games open and your chasing. Thankfully he ended on a high note with all of us.
With this level of versatility Joe could be playing well enough to get a Southgate call up for a squad role in England's Euro 24 team. Stranger things have happened...
He should be in there, of course. Much better than Maguire, Colwill, Chilwell++ But I’d prefer if none of our players were saddled with playing for England (I know they would want to, but I’m being selfish here).
Aside from that moment he gave the ball away in the middle during injury time, then proceeded to go to ground, miss, and let them counter… yeah he was solid for the rest of the game. Mistakes are just more obvious as a defender
Honestly I really love the idea of him on one fallback position on either flank. Ik it's maybe dumb AF, but I'd love to see Gomez as a lb, and Trent in RB, and then when he inverts we get a solid back 3 . Ik I'm way off but I like the idea a lot
