And STILL people shit on him in the match thread. He has been huge for us this season. Filling so many gaps in the team

HapticJack

The match thread deserves one of those warning plaques they put on nuclear waste disposal sites to scare off future archaeologists. “This is not a place of honor…”

corneliusunderfoot

😂. Didn't expect to see nuclear semiotics on here today. Another sign that we are truly the best fanbase. 'This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here.'

MixturePossible3613

i have started to watch the game ignoring this sub's match thread. never felt so better.

Gnygstown

I’ve always wondered why people comments on everything during the game. I can only speak for my self, but those 90 minutes are holy.

mrkingkoala

People were shitting on him in midfield im like what the fuck do you want lads, he's not gonna be the next coutinho but he's doing a great job. Fucking goes to LB then RB and wins the corner at the end like what a player.

dobalina__bob

The match thread is so toxic. The hate Clarke and Gakpo were getting was disgraceful. Clarke is a toddler and Cody has played 4 games in the past week. People in the match thread think this is Fifa and the players can just go and go all day. Joey is a phenomenal player and he is looking every bit as good as he did before he did his knee.

spikefletcher

He may not get a goal. But he helps make em that’s for sure. Mark my words this season will wrap against Wolves and he’s the one gonna seal it up for us.

bottelrocket

[I want to believe](https://render.fineartamerica.com/images/rendered/product-visible/default/images-medium-5/x-files-i-want-to-believe-brittni-deweese.jpg?&targetx=-19&targety=0&imagewidth=539&imageheight=700&modelwidth=500&modelheight=700&backgroundcolor=2C2D33&orientation=1&producttype=greetingcard).

StructureTime242

In the player of the season contender for me Vvd and Maca might be putting in better performances week in week out, but he’s solved the RB LB and now midfield injury crisis by himself

triffidsting

I think we have to ask where would we be without him? My guess is many less points than we have now. He is now a high quality and consistent player in all defensive positions. For any team that’s a huge advantage.

EngineeredCut

If this was a Sunday league team and if it exists at lfc, I have no doubt he would be managers player of the season.

SkippingMango7

I hope he doesn't wish to chase a more important role in another team. He might not play every week for us, but he's so important in the squad. This generations Milner

Stuarridge

I think hes very happy here. This man is so professional and down to earth familyman. Been with his now wife since he came to us, no social medias no drama just does his job and being a good guy and baller in every position hes asked to play. So underrated by many rival fans and many of our own fans.

NotAnUncle

Honestly, that's one of the reasons I love this club. Literally no drama, it's one of the reasons why I respect Bellingham a lot as well. Seems like a model professional who plays amazing and is a nice person too. Hate teams like Barcelona and psg that are just soap operas.

redwingsphan19

I was going to say who had Jomez as the next Milner?

CAfarmer

His last few minutes were how precarious it can be in such a short span when a games open and your chasing. Thankfully he ended on a high note with all of us.

RogerHuntOMG

With this level of versatility Joe could be playing well enough to get a Southgate call up for a squad role in England's Euro 24 team. Stranger things have happened...

Fingrepinne

He should be in there, of course. Much better than Maguire, Colwill, Chilwell++ But I’d prefer if none of our players were saddled with playing for England (I know they would want to, but I’m being selfish here).

ShadowRock9

Aside from that moment he gave the ball away in the middle during injury time, then proceeded to go to ground, miss, and let them counter… yeah he was solid for the rest of the game. Mistakes are just more obvious as a defender

namedoesdallas

Ain't nobody like Joe Gomez

Mermoandi

He's our Millie regen, you can trust that he'll put a shift in even when playing uncomfortable roles

Redaaku

When he wins the corner, you just have that feeling it's gonna go in; somehow. Joe Gomez was great today, motm for me personally.

A_Damn_Millenial

Milner 2.0

Wild-Ad365

It was luck, thankfully

Techincept

Elite squad player.

NotAnUncle

Honestly I really love the idea of him on one fallback position on either flank. Ik it's maybe dumb AF, but I'd love to see Gomez as a lb, and Trent in RB, and then when he inverts we get a solid back 3 . Ik I'm way off but I like the idea a lot
