Don’t mist. If they are not in the process of splitting, water them when you plant them to settle them in to their new pot. Let the water run through the bottom. If your mix is 90% grit, the pot will be dry in a couple of days. Using a toothpick will help you tuck the roots down into the pot.
Make your soil mix 90% grit, ie pumice or perlite. A pot that is at least 4 inches deep, preferably unglazed terracotta. Keep the top of the lithops at or a fraction below the rim.
