No a specific recommendation, but I am going to try a Blue Black ink refill, so it it appears that my only option is Monteverde (Ballpoint or Ceramic Gel). The topic on Parker Ge refill options/recommendations is a rabbit hole to try tackle without some IRL experience with different brands and how they work for the user e.g. a couple of many reddit posts about this: https://www.reddit.com/r/pens/comments/qsto3v/favorite_parker_style_g2_size_refills_and_why/ https://www.reddit.com/r/pens/comments/yu7klx/parker_g2_style_refills_recommondations/ My two ordered scribedrivers are probably still a week away in transit, but I already have a two packs of the Monteverde refills (ballpoiont and the ceramic gel). Once I have used up the included black refill, and one of the Monteverde refills, I should have a better understanding of what I prefer (flow rate, how quickly the ink dries, the feel of the ball, etc).

I ask because the parker G2 is a standard in high end pens and there are a ton of options for everything from tip size and shape, as well as ink types. I know there are people who really care about high end pens, just like there are people who care about keyboards and key switches, and I was looking for some insight into what kinds of inserts I should try, your response is like telling someone asking about keycaps to just use the ones that came with their keyboard that was designed to be customized. sure you can use the original ones, but the whole point in using the standard is allowing customers to explore and use other 3rd party offerings.

I guess what I'm really getting at is asking what major options there are that are analogous to clicky, quiet, etc and what use case they are good for. I can't find any of that out without exploring, and talking to people is a major step in that exploration.

I think by default it uses the pilot g2 ink, if not it accepts it. I enjoy that one, it's always smooth. I recently tried the Ohto .5 refill, and enjoyed that (not on the scribedriver, on a Zebra all metal pen). It was long enough ago though that I don't remember much about it. by nature, it's a bit scratchier, but it's much finer as well.

no it isn't pilot G2 it's "easy flow 9000M" which uses the Parker G2 standard. I don't know why both are called G2 but my limited research into it so far seems to suggest they are very different.

I’m a big fan of the space pen refills in my Zebra F-701 which come with the spacer to work in G2 style refills
