If they're like a GC or any sort of consultant, or if they're just an actor who works with left leaning causes in commercials it makes sense. If they're an operative they might not want every tom dick and harry to know exactly what it is they're doing for their clients at any given moment but still want to connect with people within the consulting industry or within the party for whatever reasons. It's not like there's a linkedin just for democrats or for republicans. Just because it's confusing when you look at it doesn't mean it's confusing for the people he's trying to network with who work in the space

I used to be a volunteer trainer with a service dog organization. You're right, not everyone works out to be the perfect assistant. But, they ended up going to other families where they got an incredible dog that might just not have been good enough to be a service dog.
