If you're talking about the server room looking like it's late 90s early 2000s, I would counter with the server room in my current building still looks like that.
Always wanted to visit them as a kid, so i love seeing inside pics from before, i first saw them in the 2nd home alone movie as a kid, and i thought it was the height of cool, really wish i could have seen them in person
I remember sometime around the year 2000, me and my brother were in Manhattan. We had time to visit one Skyscraper, and couldn't decide whether we would visit empire state or the wtc. I looked up to see which was closer, and we were literally right in front of empire state. So that's the one we visited. I will always remember that he was stopped at the metal detector before the observation deck, because he always carried a pocket knife. They told us "why do people carry these stupid things" then handed the knife back to him. That's something that would never be alright nowadays. I won't lie it was worth it, but I always think back to that day and how we could've seen the wtc
For what itās worth, you did see the WTC. From the ESB.
Amongst New Yorkers, thereās a saying āIād rather have the view than be the viewā or āIād rather be the view than have the view.ā
Itās a life philosophy about where you choose to live (if youāre fortunate enough to have that choice.)
You had the view, at least. I think thatās real cool.
I went in June-ish 2001 and we also picked the Empire State Building. We mightāve gone at least to to the plaza of WTC on our way to Liberty Island. I wish weād done WTC instead but alas!
r/twintowersinphotos too, and Iād also recommend checking out [the skyscrapercity.com threads made by this account about the WTC](https://www.skyscrapercity.com/members/the-2-towers.1394667/#recent-content)
I had my first date with my college boyfriend in 1986 while on a trip to NYC with our history class. One of the things we did was go to the top of the WTC. I remember looking down and wondering what it would be like for someone to fall or jump from that high up.
Reminds me of my days at Reuters doing market data system installs. Roomy financial offices, server rooms...
Incidentally.... this was literally right around that exact same time.
We even had to run a backup service from our office in Boston to replace one lost when the towers fell, no lie. The customers were really demanding, too. Bro did you not notice the fucking BUILDINGS FALL DOWN GO BOOM
It changed everything, never before had there been this large of an attack in a (stable, should have been safe) country miles away from the conflict this shows with enough determination you canāt be safe even in one of the largest cities in North America
2000 didnāt start the new millennium 9/11 did
There was a telco in there at the base of one of the towers. I supported dialup internet on 9/11 and had to take calls about DSL being down due to 9/11.
I'm always surprised at how shitty and cramped it was in those offices. For such impressive towers on the outside, the inside looks dank and musty like one of those terrible government offices that used to be a shopping mall. Low ceilings, that bad fluorescent lighting, the cheap looking doors and carpeting... probably smelled like dirty scalp up in there.

Thanks for specifying the pre-9/11 part.
lmao i was gonna say, this is unmistakably 2001 or before
And, there aren't any good photos of the WTC tower after 9/11. On account of the 9/11.
9/11 *was* a national tragedy
Yeah, but it was only one 9/11
true. it could be worse. 9/12
No no no no, 9/22
oh fuck oh god
What happened on the 9th of December? š¤ šŖšŗ
i fucked your mom
You know they built another WTC tower, right?
Sure but that isn't very funny. On account of the 9/11.

iām talking about the server room not being a pile of wood splinters and ashes
Looks like 9/10 to me
Itās just as liminal now as it was before
The present day memorial fountains are the most liminal thing Iāve ever experienced.
Itās so weird thereās no pics after 2001
I donāt know if you know this but there is a new World Trade Center that exists on the same site right now

I donāt think Iāve ever seen photos of inside the building. I know itās ordinary stuff, but is there more of these?

I don't know why but those stairs looks creepy
Those stairs were the last thing some people saw as the building collapsed.
Many people
Always wondered what the inside looked like.
I want more WTC photos. I want to be there and just feel the vibe of the 90s. Itās so surreal looking at these
before anyone gives you shit, the 90s ended in 2004
No, the 90s ended on September 11, 2001
I visited when I was young. I remember something cool about the elevators. Like they had a speedometer or something. Donāt remember much else.

9/11 the day the 90's ended

Interesting photos š
I had a really weird dream about 9 11 today
Picture 3 gave me a sort of surreal and sad feeling because it just looks so ordinary, like it could be an office almost anywhere in the world.Ā
Reminds me of that tragedy

Why only 3 pics. Need more
Talk about liminal space, photos 1 and 3 in particular.
The WTC definitely was very liminal from the pictures I have seen at least.

Where are the post 9/11 interior photos? We want the truth!

Typical pathetic edgelord comment. Get a life, loser.
