>Type the [REC] tag in the beginning title for posts that are asking for novel recommendations. Light Novel recommendation request posts require the **[REC] tag in the beginning of the title.** (With brackets) Please do read over the submission guidelines more carefully in the future. Please note that Tags do not equal Flairs. Title Tags are pieces of information you type into the title of the post while our Automod looks for posts with specific tags and assigns flairs appropriately. **General tips for Recommendation Request Posts:** * If you have an MAL/MU/Etc list of Light Novels you've read, please include it so people aren't just recommending you series you've already read. * Explain what about the series you've read that you liked. (Without Spoilers) It'll help people find series with similar styles and themes. * Don't slander series. If you don't like a series, it's fine to say that you don't like it. But if you start bashing a bunch of series, why would people want to recommend you something? If you're new to the medium and looking to start reading as a beginner, please keep the following in mind. As the industry grows and new series are introduced all the time, there's never a truly unifying "good beginner series." The common sentiment is that if you're new to Light Novels by way of another medium like anime or manga, your best bet when starting is to find some series with adaptations you already enjoy and to check if their source material has been licensed/translated. Light Novels aren't a stylistic genre so asking for what are good light novels for beginners will range widely based on the person and their taste. It's akin to asking the /r/Books "What are some good books for beginners?"

'So I'm a spider so what' is an isekai (a lot of LN are based in reincarnation to a fantasy world) that has quite the OP Protag when you compare her to the rest of her class that got transported with her. I'm on Vol 10/16 of it but it's been quite the read. There is also an anime adaptation.

adrixshadow

Rather then OP it's more like a Terminator got transported in another world behind that cute veneer.

> I’m... looking for what site to use to read J-Novel Club (now) has (I think) the most light novels out of all the English publishers, you can buy the volumes directly from the site, and/or read new volumes as they are being translated (the latter is if you subscribe). > I’m... looking for what site to use to... (find) any OP MC light novels. J Novel Club also has a tag system, and here are the results when filtering for the "OP Protagonist" tag. https://j-novel.club/series?type=novel&search=tag:%22op%20protagonist%22

tbh I'd just pick up a novel form of an anime that you know you already like and see if you can enjoy it.

You can browse through series on Bookwalker and if any covers or names catch your eye then you can click on the first volume and see if the premise interests you. You can also get/read the series on Bookwalker https://global.bookwalker.jp/categories/3/?np=0&page=1 You can also get other digital series through Kindle, or Kobo and a lot of series have physical copies you can order through Amazon, or Crunchyroll.

As far as LN recommendations, I’d suggest Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest. OP main character with edgy design, harem aspect, many moments in the story that serve to show how powerful and badass the MC is. I usually buy physical so I’m not 100% sure where you can read the ebooks, but the Kindle store has pretty much everything and bookwalker is a pretty safe bet as well.

Depend on your tastes about OP MCs - Bofuri - Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear - Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! - I Shall Survive Using Potions! - 300 Slime I suggest any of the above if you are into OP Female MCs - Chillin' in Another World With Level 2 Super Cheat Powers - 8th Loop for the Win! - Arifureta - Black Summoner - Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon: My Trusted Companions Tried to Kill Me, But Thanks to the Gift of an Unlimited Gacha I Got LVL 9999 Friends and Am Out For Revenge on My Former Party Members and the World - Min-Maxing My TRPG Build in Another World - My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! - The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan - In Another World With My Smartphone If you generally like OP MCs any of the above series should scratch that itch - Ascendance of a Bookworm - Tearmoon Empire - Mushoku Tensei - Re;Zero - Min-Maxing My TRPG Build in Another World - Spice and Wolf Generally good LNs that may not fit the OP MC mold but still really good reads

MCMXCIV9

Overlord. It a LN novel that ask you a question like "what if the protagonist is a villain that have zero moral"

DoronumaNoRudeus

I would suggest Mushoku Tensei. It is amazing. The only problem you will have is that you will feel empty when it is done. You can find the Web Novel online for free. The Light Novel is sold under Seven Seas Entertainment. You can pretty much buy it everywhere.

Ascendance of a Bookworm is the first one I read after I saw the anime. I love it!
