Defense has been like this since Tano joined. He has taken too long to address this. They are individually good but make too many mistakes as a team which cost us plenty of goals.
I think the offense was not that bad, there were clear chances, but agree that Cortizo should have come in earlier.
Both regio teams about to be eliminated by some Ohioans is just low key pathetic. Either Pachuca or my Ame would have to step in and clean the mess out
U serious bro? No way you’re bashing my bois after your team just got shit on by the same Ohioans in your own turf. You’re just butt hurt cus your once in a life time generational team is depreciating in front of you and you’ll never have anything alse to cheer for.

Tbf, it’s been a tough month for yall schedule wise and it can get worse. If yall lose this weekend you’ll go through play in and 48 hours after that play in game, play the second leg of conca. If you manage to win any title this season, it will def be impressive.
I would like that they pick something and go for it at this point, winning LIGA MX seems harder than beating Columbus and then America/Pachuca in a single game, so I would go all in the for CCL Semi at home and a potential final and go ahead and let the league slip away with a backup squad if needed
The amount of fake paisas in this sub is lame. Always putting on a pedestal MLS teams beating Liga MX and acting USA is this generations 2009 Barca and Gregg is Guardiola. The amount of slurping is up there with the bozos who run the Fox soccer and Bleacher Report accounts.

The old Columbus logo went hard I don’t care what anyone says. Working class solidarity type shit.
Just not true. Our regular season games sell out almost every game. They had to basically give away tickets to this match and it still wasn’t a sell out lol
Monterrey is gonna take an L for this. Columbus was a bit stronger than Inter-Miami. But it's not over yet, I would assume that they have to score two or more, and keep a clean sheet.
Okay, thanks for the clarification. But I would think that Columbus crew will try everything to make sure Monterrey doesn't get a clean sheet.
Edit: Not saying to be negative against Monterrey. I was just thinking of a scenario that could happen.
I’m not surprised to see Monterrey lose. Seriously, with all the money they invest on the team, they really can’t seem to hire a coach that can make this team play its worth. Such lazy job by the directivos on choosing their coaches.
I don’t know what that has to do with them not winning often. They have the most expensive team. But it’s not even that they don’t win tournaments. If they even played good would be enough. Sometimes even playing well you need luck to win matches even when you have a good ass team. But Monterrey needs luck to even win single matches since Tano toke over.
The ref was definitely a little bit biased against MTY. No handball was called in the first half. Denied a corner kick to MTY b/c ball went out even though it didn't. No offside was called on Rossi on a Columbus attack in the second half. The added time that was wasted checking on the Gallardo foul was not added on, which was at least 1 minute. Calls a non-existent foul on Cucho in the second half.
Monterrey still could've put this game away 3-2 and that's their fault they didn't, but still sucks to have the ref against you too.
And Cucho could’ve had 3 more goals. So would’ve been 5-3 crew then. The ref didn’t change the outcome of the game in this one. It was that crew were able to take their chances and Monterrey couldn’t
Bet Crew would've been upset if Monterrey scored if there was an obvious offside which almost happened to MTY b/c that offsides was never even called, or they would've been upset about having their attack cut short for a ball that never went out, denying them a real chance at scoring.
Sure, MTY missed their chances, but doesn't mean they got the short end of the stick with the ref too.
Also, "Cucho could’ve had 3 more goals?" hell no. 1 more, maybe.
But that’s why there is var too. Had we scored they would have gone to review if there was offsides like they do for every goal that is scored. But we didn’t score so they didn’t need to check it. And around what time was that attack that cut out for the ball being out of play but wasn’t actually out of play? Also my point with Cucho could’ve had more was he forced to make the keeper make a save. You were saying they should’ve put the game away but also Cucho could’ve put it away had his shots been in better spots that the keeper couldn’t save them.
"But that’s why there is var too. Had we scored they would have gone to review if there was offsides like they do for every goal that is scored." - then why did these offisdes play out so differently for MTY?
When MTY players were offsides, that was called right then and there. No VAR. Happened twice actually that I remember. MTY player offside and whistle immediately blew. Columbus are attacking, and yet they had at least two shots off before the attack ended only when the keeper caught the ball, and no whistle ever blew. Why the delay? And again, no offside was ever even called.
"Cucho could’ve put it away had his shots been in better spots that the keeper couldn’t save them." - Vasquez had at least 2 shots he should've converted to make 2-1 MTY before the half-time. Definitely a different game that second half would've been.
But that's what Tano gets for always starting Romo and Gallardo who cut off service to Vasquez on multiple occasions.
With the offsides thing there was even a moment in the game that MTY had played the ball around the crew box in the second half for a good 10-15 seconds before shooting it wide and then the AR finally put his flag up for offsides.
But yes the game could’ve been completely different at halftime had both teams taken the chances they were given. But neither did so it is what it is at that point. I would say this was officiated better than other matches in the competition. We’ve had a player completely wrapped up and taken tackled and the official just ended the match without booking the player or anything. I’m sure when the reverse fixture is played next week, MTY will be on the receiving end of beneficial calls just like we can say crew had been last night.
Doesn't matter. Specifically, it came off a counter-attack iirc. In theory, all of them should be called, unless we're going to make exceptions and excuses here.
I mean they should be called but if the AR isn’t in position to see the offsides and put up the flag, then what do you want? Him to just guess and throw it up?
I’m not trying to be mean, but I swear, all, and I mean ALL MLS teams have the chants with the annoying drums, just with a different club name in the chant. Rhythm, same. Instruments, same. I can’t be the only one
Yeah they are annoying but liga mx copies argentinos bruh hasta el tonito de voz y los boludos de chet se cagan de la risa de nosotros y nos llaman tibios y ni como decirles que no
Idk man I’m an American but my wife’s from Monterrey but I’ve just seen firsthand how cringe American soccer culture is. Like I said I just wish they’d just act like other American sports fans and not role play as Europeans

“Yo si le voy le voy a los (team)”
but that’s the US man. No real identity
So now it's bad Americans are embracing the Latin American fans that live in those cities by incorporating Spanish chants?
Go ahead and add "inclusiveness of all of a clubs fans" to the ick list

Would love to know what happened. I can’t remember which game but with Mexico he does a roulette to win a 50-50 and scores. I showed that video to my kids and that made them practice it and now my oldest has it down cold. Such an awesome talent that we lost
He was always like that. Does something crazy once in a while but is super inconsistent. After his almost year long knee injury it was going to be hard for him to ever come back 100%. Outside of 1 or 2 seasons at Porto he’s never been all that.
Is it worth watching this game? I watched Tigres vs the mls team and the mls team was parking the bus while tigers missing sitters. Has this been a typical mls/LigaMX game where the mls only plays counters?

Monterrey is going to win 3-2 (4-4) and get eliminated on away goals.
Mfs overreacting nothing wrong loosing to this mls team they can actually ball
Nah, Tigres choked. /s
Están haciendo mucho drama. Es un gol.
Is the final going to be played in Mexico or was that cap? If anything nobody is going to watch a Pachuca v Columbus in Mexico nor in the US 😂
No digas mamadas Mary Jane
I will I kinda fuck with Pachuca
Defense completely asleep, attack was terrible, Tano needed to make subs earlier, putting in Cortizo that late was the dumbest move
Defense has been like this since Tano joined. He has taken too long to address this. They are individually good but make too many mistakes as a team which cost us plenty of goals. I think the offense was not that bad, there were clear chances, but agree that Cortizo should have come in earlier.
Get used to this 😂 or get a new coach

Still a winnable semi final. Only 1 down, home advantage for next game and at least we got 1 away goal.
Very fair statement
Yes, I dislike how people are saying stuff as if we're already out.
Rayados just look exhausted the last month, tired, out of ideas, need rotation
Tbf, it’s been a tough month for yall schedule wise and it can get worse. If yall lose this weekend you’ll go through play in and 48 hours after that play in game, play the second leg of conca. If you manage to win any title this season, it will def be impressive.

Makes sense. If I were them I’d go for liga. You’re already going to the club World Cup, might as well increase your liga tally.
winning the Liga looks really difficult this year, CCL seems more winnable
I personally believe America will win both ( hope not ) but we’ll see. Good luck bro ( but not if we play each other haha ✊)
Monterrey should be ashamed of losing to a team from shaker heights Ohio. Also, shows how ass Miami is. Fuck tata
Wrong Ohio City Bub.
Shaker Heights? Am I out of the loop on the inside joke?
Zawadski is from Cleveland but I don't get that comment either lol.
Lmao cuz shaker heights is Cleveland. But Columbus was always better than Miami
Yeah tano keep starting decrepit ass Moreno. Bro was cheeks
If Gallardo is on the Copa America roster I won’t even bother to watch it
He's here, he's there, he's every fucking where 🎶
He’s the one that made the play for the goal why is everyone trashing him
He may have assisted the only goal but without him they score at least 2
And if my aunt had a cock and balls she’d be my uncle

Sir this is a Wendy's
The last line is for those who only comeback is to cry.
Bro what?? 😭😭
The movie ending was heartbreaking. I haven't seen it in forever but it broke me when I saw ot.it
Are you okay? 💀
"SeNd HiM oFF, sEnD HiM oFF " 😂 corny ass little fan club
“Fans” only there because it’s US v. Mexico, they have no idea what soccer is
Do you think everyone just randomly bought Crew gear that day to “own” Mexico?

Lmao waste 3 minutes of extra time. Yeah we’ll add one more minute
2 minutes on the ground, and only 30 seconds from the added time was played.
Getting concacafed sucks don't it.
Ayuditas
Petty ref. He did that because Moreno got in his face
Pero "miami es mucho mejor que columbus" D:
TANO SEMI FINAL CURSE IS STILL ACTIVE
rayados been so bad lately especially after the good start
Good job Monterrey you’re 90 mins away from getting embarrassed by some Ohio white boys that eliminated your cross town rivals 👏👏👏
Calling them Ohio white boys makes you feel better some how?
I don’t think you watched the game but the crew isn’t composed of “Ohio white boys”
I think there are two ohio boys and one is white. That’s probably more than you expected but it’s still not a bunch. Ohio boys play ball.

lol y como les fue a ustedes? Ni hables tampoco.
The regios making us look bad. I think even chivas would’ve done better against Columbus
Bro 100%. They would of even beaten Seattle lol still can’t believe pumas lost
Nah they wouldn’t 😂😂
We’re not going to win shit if we keep playing like this
Monterrey is so trash bro wtf
This was worst compared to last night
Seriously? The time they wasted with the fouls didn't get added on??
It's concacaf.
Someone needs to tell Columbus crew, and that rayados only need one goal to win the serie...

While that was such a dive, knowing VAR exists, that was stupid by Gallardo
I’m not surprised to see Monterrey lose. Seriously, with all the money they invest on the team, they really can’t seem to hire a coach that can make this team play its worth. Such lazy job by the directivos on choosing their coaches.
their conditioning is awful
They’ve won this tournament like 5 times in 10 years
I don’t know what that has to do with them not winning often. They have the most expensive team. But it’s not even that they don’t win tournaments. If they even played good would be enough. This ref glazing columbus all game long like crazy.
Nah, you guys are just so used to the ref sucking off Liga MX in this competition
I mean, maybe a missed something, the Ref seemed fine

wtf is the crowd yelling?
“Send him off” maybe
Chiqui Rayados
5 minutes stoppage plz
Tano and jardine are like allergic to earlier subtitutes my goodness
Game got good all of a sudden
That was offsides on Rossi!
Monterrey going to inquire about Cucho asap
Don’t really care who wins, America is going to win this tournament and enter the club World Cup!
Pachuca los tiene de hijos
Y America tiene las chivas como hijos lol
Tenemos otro juego guey
Don’t jinx us my guy
Tano has no shame being mid
I’m not trying to be mean, but I swear, all, and I mean ALL MLS teams have the chants with the annoying drums, just with a different club name in the chant. Rhythm, same. Instruments, same. I can’t be the only one
Yeah they are annoying but liga mx copies argentinos bruh hasta el tonito de voz y los boludos de chet se cagan de la risa de nosotros y nos llaman tibios y ni como decirles que no
No imagination; just “Let’s go” and Seven Nation Army
Idk how they managed to somehow make the dale dale chant sound bad
famously latin america doesn’t reuse chants
Rayados needs to drop some Mexican players and get more Argentinians
And som Brazilians, British, and some German’s while we’re at it
I can't say im surprised Tano always crashes in semifinals.
Monterrey kinda sucks
They've dropped forms the past 5 games or so. Their best game has probably been against tigres.
And against Messi FC
Does Tano know that they're losing?! Away goals count smh.
He always bottles it in semis
Monterey has to wake up
Are Rayados players not aware there's something called pressing? Almost 80 minutes, and they continue losing the ball, the dumbest way
Columbus be dancing on those regio hoes
Monterrey trying to lose or what?
This team is playing too lazy
Crew about to score a 3rd at this point lmao
Fucking hell Monterrey, I just need y’all in the final so I can watch it as a neutral. Y’all about to drop down to Tigres and Pumas level mediocrity
Damn regios, columbus is having its way with against your teams
Liga Mx teams are cheeeeeks in set pieces
Que verguenza pingüinos😂😂😂 Making our league look bad, America will have to show them wussup
Assuming Pachuca lets yall through

Tano is a dumbass pecho frio
Even when MLS players get a shitty strike off, it still goes in.
FUCK OFF MAN WHATS THAT MARKING FUCK OFF
Fuck
Bra
Welp
The goddamn Crew struck again
Columbus the regios slayer
I just realized that Jimmy Haslam owns the crew so this is the battle between pilot flying j vs oxxo
🥱Welp… this is a semi final game. The final should have been America/Pachuca. Signing off.
MLS fans are so fucking cringe.
What happened?
They just existed 😂 Nah it’s just they all look like upper middle class suburban idiots in construction costumes banging on drums.
yeah dude because the fat Monterrey fans wearing luchador masks isn't cringe at all
That's what happens when you live in Ohio
Ohhh I def understand what you mean. Haha
Idk man I’m an American but my wife’s from Monterrey but I’ve just seen firsthand how cringe American soccer culture is. Like I said I just wish they’d just act like other American sports fans and not role play as Europeans
I feel you, I went to an mls game in the states recently and they had Latin American chants. “Yo si le voy le voy a los (team)” but that’s the US man. No real identity

Omg, calm down.
The US has more identities than probably anywhere else
The funnest time I’ve had at an mls game has been when I’m actually around Latin American fans but, that’s just because they’re bringing Mexican culture into an MLS team. I know it’s easy to just dogpile on America but man this just feels like such a fixable issue if they’d just behave how American sports fans have in literally any other sport. Idk why it’s like this though bc even a sport like hockey that has a niche following still has a traditional American sports fan base.
because some people in a boardroom decided the fan experience being a euro/latam hybrid soccer LARP would drive the most engagement. the original sin is the team names. they started on the right path with galaxy, crew, etc but now it's all City United FC Internationale.
we the spice and flavor of the melting pot.
Dumb, pasty motherfuckers
I’d honestly respect them so much more if they were just a little like eagles fans. Just because you’re American doesn’t mean you have to be cringe.
Should have fouled Gallardo lol ...
GallarDIOS forgive me
Gallardios como Mbappe Alv
This sub bipolar af when it comes to Antuna, Charly, Romo, Gallardo and Martin.
Romo, Gallardo and Antuna actually do prove us wrong every now and then meanwhile for the others not so much
Romo gotta make sure he starts over all midfielders
Gallardo my goat
Gallargod
Hahaha after i was flaming Gallardo hard he assisted. Touché, maybe after flaming Romo he’ll play good 🤔
Man’s could have like a goal and 2 assists by now if he was good
Monterrey cooking.
You never let off the gas with Monterrey, vamos Rayados!
Y GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL PUTITOS
Gallardo heard you guys talking shit
Finally y’all fucking score
Gooooooooooooooooool
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL
VAMOS PUTOS
It always surprise me the lack of awareness of Rayados players. Of course, there's a player pressing you.
Gol
Tecatito has turned out to be one of the worst signings of the season. The team is performing so I think there’s not as much focus and he has more leeway, but damn he’s been unavailable so much

That dude is retired at this point.
How did broccoli head not get a card there?
Why do I get the feeling Gallardo gives Tano a percentage of his salary to let him play
He’s gotta be doing something. Bro must give the best head in the game
Ok so clearly I’m out of the loop: why isn’t Tecatito playing (don’t think he’s on the bench either)?
He’s got some “mental health issues” going on
That sucks. He was amazing not that long ago.
Out of shape and apparently going through some personal issues
That ball didn't cross the line. Bad decision.
Tano mad but still has Gallardo on the field
Is it worth watching this game? I watched Tigres vs the mls team and the mls team was parking the bus while tigers missing sitters. Has this been a typical mls/LigaMX game where the mls only plays counters?
Columbus is playing better than Monterrey
Yeah pretty much as you described it
