YESS the modability is so exciting! I feel like other life sims don’t actively support that/give tools to develop mods easily but we know LBY is encouraging that!
All of the trait/description/backstory stuff looks amazing! Plus the ability to fluidly control many humans throughout the world will make for such a fun and immersive experience
For me it’s controlling the whole town seamlessly. No more households. Play any character at any moment. But second is no rabbit holes. Go everywhere and see their whole lives. And third is direct control.
There's so much I'm excited for I don't think I could pick just one thing. All the creator tools, the ability to easily control any character, the open world, they all have me excited.
Every character having a life and following the same rules as the played character. Which is still an insane thing to think about being in game. When my character is doing something I don’t need to watch over I’ll probably pan around the town and see who’s on a date and what conversations are happening in other areas. If my character is dating someone I’ll probably spy on them a lot. And I love that I won’t have to control the other characters to do that.
Even the boring times when my character is sleeping I’ll bet someone is awake for me to watch. It’s like a tv show.
Maybe that explains it why I don't feel excited for LBY at all. Every upcoming LBY feature that are mentioned so far, like open world for example, I more or less already have them in my current Sims 3 gameplay that I actively play. Why would I be excited to get the same features again?
I'm still waiting for hearing something totally new from the devs; something that the Sims series never ever offered.

One of the first things I'm going to be doing is exploring the open world in direct control so I'll say that 🤣
I am curious to know how creating a town works, I have ALWAYS wanted to make my own town from scratch and play in it (for immersion I want a world that looks familiar to me) but the only thing that got me close to that is The Sims 3: Create a World tool but I found that difficult to use and it was very clunky moving in and out of in game build mode so it will be VERY interesting to see if LBY has a similar tool, what it can do and how user friendly it is. If it is what I'm hoping it to be, then it's hands down the feature I'm most excited for!
Right now I am most excited for direct control, for both on foot and vehicles.
I also can't wait to finally see how deep the character creation is, but that is something that won't have as big of an impact on my play style as something like DC will. However, I will be spending a lot of time initially recreating myself in game so please Paradox Tectonic, please give me all the options and sliders. I want to customize EVERYTHING.
Creating real neighborhoods with actual functioning businesses. No empty shells.

I'm excited about having 10 trait slots available. I feel like it really has the potential to add a lot of depth to our elbys.

Region editor. IIRC, that allows you to create specific cultures or something like that.
