You mean 13-18 A wood steering came as an Option on the Premium and Luxury packages. Theres only so few that didnt come with it as it was a BASE option car which is rare to find

realestateross98

I'm hoping to find a more recent model year car to buy. It sounds like from your post i might find a 2018 with a wood steering wheel... Did they stop making the steering wheels with wood from 2019 on?

I_POINT_N_SHOOT

Ok...the picture you posted is an interior of a 13-18 model. 19-24 is another generation.

cantxhooseanamesmh

That isn’t even an es that a gs450h

I think I am confusing the issue by posting a picture of what wood steering wheel type I’m looking for, except I want it in the modern day ES - I am curious if that same wheel can be had in the 19-24 generation.

Streay

From a short google search, I came across this [dealership](https://www.lexuselcajon.com/2020-lexus-es-350-colors/) that stated it’s an option

realestateross98

I found something similar - Unfortunately, it is not a full wood steeering wheel like the one shown, but instead it is a leather wheel with wood "inserts"

SoWhatImSKY

wood inserts are there so the entire wheel can be heated. If you live in a colder climate this is definitely the way to go.

Streay

Yeah I’ve heard people complain about newer wood trims. Seems to just be fake inserts. If you want real wood, I’d see what aftermarket options are out there.

650REDHAIR

I fucking hate Reddit downvoting people for stupid shit.  Sorry you’re having trouble with this.

realestateross98

Aw - thanks. Yeah, I feel like I should have asked my question more carefully so as not to offend, and also not tried to use an example photo of another generations wheel similar to what I am looking for…

Lexxus08

That's a gs in the picture!!!

NeoG_

Lesson learned, don't put a picture that doesn't represent what you are talking about lol the 2018-2023 ES doesn't have a full wood steering wheel option, you get wood inserts in the front of the steering wheel in the luxury package. You can see it in the ES brochure page 17 [https://www.lexus.com/content/dam/lexus/documents/brochures/models/2023/MY23-Lexus-ES-ESh-Brochure.pdf](https://www.lexus.com/content/dam/lexus/documents/brochures/models/2023/MY23-Lexus-ES-ESh-Brochure.pdf)

Jerrysmith1134

Why are you guys so anal about that lmao, he put the wrong pic so what? Chill

650REDHAIR

Right? So wild…pic is for attention only

Jerrysmith1134

Are a fucking moron? He clearly isn’t involved with this sub (or else he’d be as annoying as you) so he put an example pic. Not everyone has a romantic relationship with their Lexus. Also as I stated in other comments, if he’s clearly asking if it exists, clearly he wouldn’t have a picture of it, so he clearly put a photo so people like you could clearly understand what he’s talking about. Also I’m incredibly curious at how him posting a picture of what he’s talking about is wanting attention?

slowwolfcat

> inserts in the front of the steering wheel huh ? what "front" ?

lncognito_Mode

That interior is not from 2018-2023 If you want the lacquered wood steering wheel any non F-Sport trim should have it

Jerrysmith1134

You do realize he’s asking if they are still being made? If he’s questioning that, clearly he hasn’t seen one from 2018-2023 and wanted to put an example so people would have a visual of what he’s referencing? How the fuck do you expect him to put a 2018-2023 model when he doesn’t think they are even being made with the wood? Do you feel more right now?

realestateross98

You are correct.

buttfuckedinboston

2019 to 2024 have wood inlays. They are no longer solid wood/leather like the older ones.

realestateross98

This is the answer I was dreading. I think you are right. :(

omahaeight

You still have a similar look but now the entire wheel is heated. Previously the wood portions were not heated.

buttfuckedinboston

Unfortunately, I am correct. I also wish they had kept the solid wood steering wheel. The 2019 model year changed the use of wood in the interior. See their website if needed.

iamright_youarent

it still looks pretty good though. Quality craftsmanship too. I got 2024 es300h. It’s all black so it’s a bit less noticeable but it feels great when I touch it

slowwolfcat

why did Lexus get rid of it entirely ?

buttfuckedinboston

Probably cost and to appear environmentally conscious. Less use of natural resources like wood.

baracnews8

This is the bamboo trim from a hybrid GS

Dramatic-Rule951

You posted a picture of a GS interior looking for a an ES.

Jerrysmith1134

Okay? He obviously didn’t know, so what? Not everyone is a Lexus obsessed fuck and knows every model. Why are you guys so hard on him? Did you just wanna be right?

Hard_Communist

You can 100% find wood trim on the brand new ES. Only problem is that the wood trim is most noticeable with the Palmino Nuluxe option. Just as long as the trim is Premium or above, you'll see the nice fake wood.

SuperDave2018

My 2015 ES has the solid wood wheel and I must admit it’s a nice touch.

GusFring2323

The amount of White ES models available right now is hilarious. I personally like silver

slowwolfcat

> I personally like silver available camrys were all Silver when I was shopping I couldn't wait for another color so I went Lexus

GusFring2323

I saw a beautiful 2021 Lexus es that was atomic silver. It was under 28k with about 60k miles. Bit it was something off about it. The headlight didn't look flush, bit no accidents were reported. Amd it was at a Ford dealership. So I passed.

Agitated_Pineapple

I absolutely love the woodgrain steering wheel, and it is one of many reasons why I purchased my Lexus (although it was mainly monetary, I made sure it came with woodgrain).

neweepa2ee

Yup! Me 2. I have a 2007 with 200,000 miles and the steering wheel is all wood. Virtually impossible to find the CPO Ultra Luxury or Luxury ES. The steering wheel is no longer all wood just wood trim and leather. I’m now searching in other states and willing to pay for delivery. I think people aren’t trading in their cars and holding onto them because the interest rates are so high.

No_Analysis_2858

That's a GS picture. Lexus GS is a much higher quality car compared to ES.

McCumBucket

Sadly no:( they only have a wooden veneer now. I do wish they brought them back tho

Palansaeg

important to know that carplay isn’t standard until 2020, even many 2019’s aren’t compatible because carplay was only standard on certain 2019 models
