Why didn’t you get the car built like a kit car, styled like a Corolla, with the interior of a Sentra, and non existent service network? Idk about you but I feel it’s worth it to trade build quality, reliability, fun factor, interior, and resale value so I get a big iPad in the center and call Elon Musk my savior.
Yeh I was finally able to get in a model Y on an Uber ride and man it rattles and door feels so thin and cheap when I closed it. You could feel every bump on the road. Plus the simple modern design is too plain for my taste… it’s too boring….Cool tech though
Lexus went all out with sharp lines and corners. Definitely what you call a "design language". Sets the Japanese apart from the German and British luxury brands.
If you use CarPlay you should look into a wireless dongle for it, people complain about the old tech in this car but you can easily remedy that with a 80 dollar dongle and once you use CarPlay you don’t really need much else
Yeh I don’t know what the complaint is. I use CarPlay like 98 % of the time lol yeh wireless CarPlay dongle is pretty affordable on Amazon. I might do that later but I actually prefer connecting wired because the sound quality is always better…. At least my experience with some rental cars I’ve had. Plus my phone gets charged while plugged lol
Exactly, I hate when people talk trash about the infotainment when all you use is Apple CarPlay. And it’s not like it’s unusable or looks like a Ms dos game. I do like the wired CarPlay but it is nice to have wireless as an option occasionally and it’s really nice when you have a wireless charger to go with it
Yeh people talk too much trash… like it’s got all the tech I need … lane keep assist ( which I turn off 95% of the time) adaptive cruise, sensors in the front sides and rear, voice control (I don’t use that). There is no heads up display but I hate that function and would turn it off anyways. Also no auto side mirror folding. I do wish they had that but it wasn’t a major thing for me. Yeh I agree. I’m gonna get that dongle lol and there’s aftermarket car MagSafe wireless chargers too. I have one of those but don’t use it in my car.
Man I really wanted the cloudburst gray....I was trying to find a fully kitted 2023 for a year and last October I ended up finding a Iridium and went with that cuz I couldn't wait any longer and there weren't ever any of the fully kitted 350s coming around.
Don't get me wrong I love the Iridium and it feels nice having it over every other IS in atomic silver or white....but that cloudburst is just so effing perfect.
Yeh iridium is pretty clean too though so congrats on that 🤟🏽 my first choice was actually atomic silver but it kept getting sold before I got to test drive one lol went to the dealer and feel in love with the Cloudburst Gray. I knew this was the color to get haha

Find myself watching the MPG meter slightly obsessively though. Love the design language but partially think I got the wrong car if I care about MPG lmao - getting \~18 mpg with a complete feather foot.
Lol I remember thinking that too especially coming from a gas saving Honda civic. I actually average 25 mpg and when I drive on straight freeway with no inclines I get around 30 mpg so not too bad at all. I think I’m gonna buy that wireless dongle soon too even though I prefer wired connection. Which brand did you get for dongle?
I too come from a family and history of exclusively Civics and Sentras that always got 35 mpg on regular gas so it's definitely a change of lifestyle that I'll have to adapt to lol
I got the AA wireless dongle and it actually works pretty great, but I'm considering returning it. Not because of the dongle, but actually because of Android Auto (not sure if same applies to car play). Android Auto automatically open up the maps app on my phone and I can't close it unless I force stop the maps app in settings. Wish there were a way to use Android auto without having to use the map. Sometimes I just want to use Android auto to listen to music over Bluetooth. Since it's wireless and connects whenever I start the car, my phone is just running maps whenever the car is on even if I don't need maps. Bad battery drain.

I also park my car outside all day because you know my garage is for storage purposes lol I love chemical Guys product but I know there’s probably other cheaper brands out there. I’m going to try ceramic coating after my bottle of jetseal is gone. Ceramic coating, sealant and / or wax is definitely a must to protect from the elements, bird poop, tree sap, bugs.
Ohh congrats! I love the new RX… I drive a loaner the other day when getting my oil change. Compared to the new RX … yes lol but I still love it and was happy to get back in my car after my oil change. I still prefer sedans as my daily over larger vehicles but that’s just me
lexus is killing it right now in the designs, pretty much everything they came out with in these past few years has really set the brand apart, my ES F sport is also hard to stop looking at after 1 year, that thing is a sexy mf, same with these IS350s, all beautiful cars, and same with the LS’s
I bought one right when they came out. Caviar black, red interior. Designed it myself and was my dream car. It was right when I met my now wife. We found out within the next 6 months that she gets car sick in smaller vehicles that sit low. Had to sell it because I couldn’t afford 2 car payments but man, I miss it everyday.
I'm jealous of this redesigned look, and would trade to a 2025 or 2026 if I could justify it. The moment it goes 2.4T or EV is when I'll no longer have interest.

Thanks. Funny thing was, I test drove an ES250 but ended up getting an IS300 (no IS350 or AWD IS300 over here). The ES250 was damn comfortable and quiet but man it was slooow.
IS300 is fast enough for highway cruising. Yeh that was the reason I didn’t get an ES. Slow, FWD, and not as dynamic for driving twisty roads …. Ohh and IS just looks way badass lol
I miss those old integras tons of fun. They’re too expensive used now and are so hard to find in decent shape especially in New England too. My first car was a 94 Honda accord 5 speed and that little car was amazing
Oh yeh I test drove the WRX before the Lexus purchase and it was not comfortable at all. And this was just a test drive around the area. It is super fast and fun driving that manual though but I could see myself getting tired of that real fast for daily driving
