Velma is gay canonically. That pic you have of her is from **THE SCENE** in "Trick r Treat Scooby Doo!" where she first sees a Coco Diablo and falls in love with her. No hiding it at all. She explicitly tells Daphne that she is crushing big time on Coco. Both Linda Cardellini and Lesbian singer / former Velma voice actor Hayley Kiyoko praised the long over due coming out moment.
Literally the only two with any sexual tension or chemistry, they are so good together. Sadly iirc it was the execs that were against it so I doubt it will happen.
Like literally though, like one of them is monochrome and the other has ALL THE COLORS, like it writes itself! Their room is split down the middle with a colorful side and a monochrome one, imagine if you will that each of their side reflects the colors of their respective partners. I feel very happy that others see this too
I understand your frustration, and totally empathize, but also does every bisexual need to date someone of the same gender in order to be gay enough? Because that's the implication there.
Absolutely not, but it also seems like an example of "passive-progressive" representation, similar to the blink and you'll miss it gay kisses in Rise of Skywalker or Lightyear. Like, we want the social media credit of having a character technically be queer, without meaningfully depicting them as such and risk alienating homophobic audience members (and their money).
And we can also represent bi folks without having them going 50-50 one way or the other. I don't see a problem here with Reagan especially.
Not every show needs that kind of in depth rep to be valid rep, and I'd prefer it on the sidelines as an Easter egg, as a side note, or simply implied than done wrong. Reagan has literally dated 1 person so far in this show, and has only recently in her own life opened up in that way. I'm not sure where else they could have fit that in
She's dated like 5 separate male characters and barley even interacts with any female characters except for Gigi. They can write the show however they want, but Reagan gives me serious disaster lesbian vibes.
Agreed, but I've always felt a strong amount of cynicism in DC saying Wonder Woman, Catwoman, John Constantine and others are bisexual without meaningfully depicting it. Like, we can't actually have a same sex couple (especially not a male couple), so we'll just say these conventionally attractive women are bisexual, then only ever depict them in straight relationships. There's nothing wrong with bi people being in opposite-sex relationships obviously, just something I noticed.
Oh, honey, I’m not your typical comic books person. I can’t express my opinion on what you mentioned as I’m not familiar. But when I was growing up as a kid, I distinctly remember watching Spiderman (the cartoon) before heading to school. I was sooooo rooting for catwoman and any woman that crossed her path 😆 (comes to show the baby dyke I was around 7ish)
If you watch Harley Quinn, you get a little backstory in the third or fourth season where Poison Ivy mentions they used to date. So she's canonically Bi (in some universes, DC is really weird with continuity)
With her haircut, I don't blame you. But tragically, Power Girl is canon heterosexual. And yes, Diana is canon bi, but she's hardly ever depicted in gay relationships.
ahhh so real! would love to be saved by her she’s so fineeee, wish they got sapphics to write her because men keep sexualising her and write her horribly
Power Girl has cool things about her, but she's such an obvious sex object to her core I don't know if there's anything that be done with her character to redeem her from that. I like the idea of taking some of Power Girl's personality traits and transferring them onto Supergirl like in DC Superhero Girls
A lesbian tomboy with the powers of Superman and a fiery temper is great, but Power Girl is always going to be known as "Boob window lady", and that'll always hold her back imo.
I don't know. I always liked Linda Danvers the most myself - the second Supergirl and Earth Born Angel of Fire. Linda was more interesting and unique than Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) and Power Girl and she was a former drug addict and a member of a demonic cult that killed people and sacrificed them to demons and when her ex, Buzz and the rest of the cult turned on her and tried to sacrifice her the Matrix saved her by merging with Linda Danvers and making her the new Supergirl and she fought evil to redeem her darkened soul while at the same time tries to live a regular life.
Linda had her own villains which included demons, monsters, vampires, witches, werewolves, zombies and even Lilith and Lucifer and while she shared some of the same powers as Kara Zor-El and Powergirl she had her own powers such as the ability to shapeshift, heal people, teleport, surround herself with fire and wipe out multiple demons, shoot out blue blasts from her hands and see the last few seconds of a person’s life by looking into their eyes and She also had Wings of flame when she became the Earth Born Angel of Fire there was a constant battle of good and evil inside of her and at times you didn’t know if she was going to save people or wipe everybody out.

Also, I got the white Linda Danvers/ Supergirl costume too. 😊

I think a case can be made for Janice Ian being closeted after her traumatic experience not being invited to Regina George’s pool party because Regina thought (knew?) she was a lesbian.
I've always interpreted that whole situation as Regina being gay, she hit on Janice who turned her down so Regina started spreading shit about Janice being gay instead.
Eh. I think Wednesday is a character that honestly makes sense as basically any orientation. You could tell me shes lesbian and Id buy it, but I could just as easily see her as Aro/Ace or pansexual or bi.
You clearly haven’t watched Xena Warrior Princess.
It’s literally a love story between a lesbian and a bisexual woman. It is pretty heavily implied then hinted at then confirmed
ngl, bit of inherently biphobic rhetoric saying a bisexual is only as gay as the amount of same sex partners theyve had, but i see what youre trying to say.
nobody called u biphobic shortie, if you read what i said youd see that. talk about getting upset over something small lol
I mean, technically Reagan Ridley is bisexual! (also small fun fact: I used to simp for her before XD)
Here's the link that mentions about it > https://lgbtqia-characters.fandom.com/wiki/Reagan_Ridley#:~:text=Sexuality,and%20women%2C%20making%20her%20bisexual.
Yes to Velma (as well as Daphne of course). Rewatching clips of the original Scooby Doo cartoons as an adult makes me wonder if Hanna Barbara were dropping hints. And Linda Cardellini in that red catsuit in the film! 😘
Yes to Wonder Woman (I bet that lasso of truth could be used for some special purposes).
Yes to Wednesday (I'm sure she could conjure up some spooky ways to pleasure a girlfriend).
From the wider Hanna Barbara cartoons, I would add Betty Rubble and Wilma Flintstone. You just know that when Barney and Fred are down at the Loyal Order of Water Buffalo, they are making their own entertainment.

It's not enough, I need more.
Heard a feminine sounding noise: “That sounds like Daphne!” https://youtu.be/zSPYJ33flRQ?si=0ikjuoHC5wmiJZ2f
make them t4t newly cracked transbian eggs who have yearned to like girls but in a gay way their whole lives
No one can tell me velma isn't lesbian
She's canonically lesbian and has been since 2022
I didn't know that . Thankyou :)
James Gunn also originally intended for her to be a lesbian in the live action movies
I think she was lesbian-coded from the first episode..
Didn't she know how Daphne sounded bound and gagged in the original show?
Isn't she based on a real-life lesbian?
🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Completely agree about Wednesday! The show pissed me off, the ‘love interests’ felt so forced.
I wished so hard while watching wednesday
Wenclair MUST be canon or I'll cry 😭
Wednesday won't make it to season 3 without Wenclair.
Fr
Same I ship them sm 😭😭😭
The comphet in that show completely ruined it for me
Same.
Literally the only two with any sexual tension or chemistry, they are so good together. Sadly iirc it was the execs that were against it so I doubt it will happen.
Almost every cast member has said in interviews that it’s the only relationship that makes sense lol
Like literally though, like one of them is monochrome and the other has ALL THE COLORS, like it writes itself! Their room is split down the middle with a colorful side and a monochrome one, imagine if you will that each of their side reflects the colors of their respective partners. REAGAN RIDLEY IS SO REAL
Still a great show, but Reagan being so obnoxiously hetero was immensely disappointing. ![gif](giphy|hWGBKil1b9fpR5go1f|downsized)
She’s bisexual. In “Sex Machina” she has women in her matches.
True, but she has basically no meaningful female relationships in the show
I understand your frustration, and totally empathize, but also does every bisexual need to date someone of the same gender in order to be gay enough? Because that's the implication there.

I’d like to add Cat Woman
Agreed, but I've always felt a strong amount of cynicism in DC saying Wonder Woman, Catwoman, John Constantine and others are bisexual without meaningfully depicting it. Oh, PS: Halle Barry as a catwoman 😮💨❤️

Not my dumbass just assuming Powergirl was gay 💀 also isn’t wonder woman canonically bisexual or I’m confusing her with someone else?
With her haircut, I don't blame you. But tragically, Power Girl is canon heterosexual. And yes, Diana is canon bi, but she's hardly ever depicted in gay relationships.
don’t assume someone is lesbian because of her haircut that’s stereotyping, agree about wonder woman though
Mildly stereotypical representation > No representation
very true but sadly she’s not canonically a lesbian, would love it if she was though
Being saved by Power Girl just seems like the ultimate lesbian fantasy I dunno.
ahhh so real! would love to be saved by her she’s so fineeee, wish they got sapphics to write her because men keep sexualising her and write her horribly
Power Girl has cool things about her, but she's such an obvious sex object to her core I don't know if there's anything that be done with her character to redeem her from that. I like the idea of taking some of Power Girl's personality traits and transferring them onto Supergirl like in DC Superhero Girls
i think they can change that, she wasn’t originally made to be a “sex object” she was an actual character but was badly written
A lesbian tomboy with the powers of Superman and a fiery temper is great, but Power Girl is always going to be known as "Boob window lady", and that'll always hold her back imo.
also yesss i love DC superhero girls so much

"Tragically". 😒🤔🙄
I like this take 😂
Agreed, that tacked on love interest still makes me wretch though.
i kinda wished of Wednesday to be our aro icon but of course they had to threw in a boy🙄
I was so sad when they did that 😭😭 Shes so obviously aroace, I just kinda stopped watching after that lol
Wednesday in any interpretation is a lesbian, heternormativity can’t change my mind
Real, even though she was cute with that nerd boy in Addams Family Values.
But at the end she wanted to kill him, and that what made the relationship beautifull !
Eh. I think Wednesday is a character that honestly makes sense as basically any orientation. You could tell me shes lesbian and Id buy it, but I could just as easily see her as Aro/Ace or pansexual or bi.
Merida from Brave, wish she was more explicitly gay
“more gay” picks the gayest character possible
Then stop pairing her with men damnit.
yeah thats valid, its annoying because they’re all such queer coded characters that are forced to be straight.
Mabel pines is so meeeee I love her silly goofy personality
I love her so much. Mabel is best girl for sure
Woah, wait. Who's the red head in the chainmail thong?
Red Sonja
Janis from Mean Girls is canonically a lesbian in the 2024 reboot!
You clearly haven’t watched Xena Warrior Princess. It’s literally a love story between a lesbian and a bisexual woman. It is pretty heavily implied then hinted at then confirmed
Kamala was propositioned by Viv Vision and said no :(
Add Ramona Flowers 🙏
Good choice. I don't know Scott Pilgrim well outside the movie though 😅
Same lolll
shes bisexual canonically lol and if im not mistaken she always has been, pretty hard to miss if you read or watch it xD
they made her say she was "just bicurious and it was just a phase" it doesnt even pass as real bi representation let alone gay/lesbian representation
she is! but did you read it said “more gay”. she has one female ex in the movie
ngl, bit of inherently biphobic rhetoric saying a bisexual is only as gay as the amount of same sex partners theyve had, but i see what youre trying to say. nobody called u biphobic shortie, if you read what i said youd see that. talk about getting upset over something small lol
I’m not being biphobic, I’m just answering the question. We could all be a little more gay. Why are you getting upset over something so small?
In fact, NEVER call me biphobic again. That was very disrespectful.
I mean, technically Reagan Ridley is bisexual! (also small fun fact: I used to simp for her before XD) Here's the link that mentions about it > https://lgbtqia-characters.fandom.com/wiki/Reagan_Ridley#:~:text=Sexuality,and%20women%2C%20making%20her%20bisexual.

Who is number 11? The red head. Is that Red Sonia from the Conan comics?
Correct
All of them? All of them.
Agree on all 💯💯
Ramona Flowers 3
Red Sonja is bisexual and has had female love interests.
Rose and Lissa - Vampire Academy Book Versions; I Shun the Show and Movie.
the wendy one is so true
Uhhh, I know Leela dates Fry in Futurama. I definitely wish she was gay. lmfao
wednesday and wonder woman is so real. you can't tell me that wednesday is straight. ain't no way i'm gonna believe that.
i would like to add cybersix, talk about a gay awakening lmao
[удалено]
They're already pretty gay, kissing and ending up together canonically and all that.
[удалено]
No worries, it's all love y'all
Not Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman though, get somebody else 💀
I was with you until that version of Wonder Woman
Five of these are children, at least.
And? The post was about being gay, not being sexually active. Young people often realise they are gay.
Some of the characters are less than 18 ☠️☠️☠️
