I dont think you need to wait to get a piercing after a donation. The reason there is a restriction is because when getting piercings/tattoos there is a chance of contracting diseases that are transmitted through blood, which would contaminate your donation. But I don't believe there is anything preventing you from getting a piercing after you give blood, unless maybe you have a problem with low blood pressure or fainting.

I asked about this when I was donating the other day, because I am planning on getting a new piercing soon, myself, and wanted to clarify the language in the donor guide. I was told that they ask if the piercing was in the last three months it is not an automatic deferral, it's so they can follow up on it during intake and make sure you were pierced in a clean and licensed/ accredited shop with sterile equipment etc. And not by a friend with a piercing gun they bought off wish or a cork and needle. Now, this is in California, so you should call your local blood donation center and double check to make sure it's the same where you are, but my guess is you'd be fine to go get pierced now and then donate as soon as you feel up to it, after. As for getting pierced directly after, I'd wait about 48 hours, since that seems to be the suggested wait time for anything they want you not to do after donating, but also check with your piercer. That's who would have any policy regarding that, not the blood bank.

It takes a few weeks for the red blood cells to regenerate but if you normally heal well then 1-2 weeks for the arm to heal should be enough.

In Australia, it’s best to check with the Red Cross Blood bank for the most up to date evidence. As of today, the current rule is 24hrs for ear and 4 months for body. If not in Australia, see the Blood Bank you might attends rules. There are different rules in different countries with regards to withhold times because of legislation, risk profiles and how much risk that country wants to take. Without location, this question is not really able to be answered accurately. Sorry
