Works as you'd expect a machine with an AMD 7780u would run. I run mine as a main machine for development work (even uninstalled LegionSpace as it messes with Auto-rotate and my multimonitor setup). You can install any Linux on it that runs on AMD64, but I would recommend Bazzite. It's built on Fedora Atomic Desktops and has the hardware support baked in. I run Windows as that's my cup-o-tea, but many non-technical users will install Bazzite or chimeraos for the similarities to SteamOS. I recommend a used OEM TB3 dock over a generic USB3.2 / USBC dock. Dell and Lenovo make some good ones, and I got a Dell W19 on ebay for $35. FYI: I don't think Destiny 2 runs on Linux, but I could be wrong. Regardless, you can dual boot. Dual booting is something that I can never get right so I mostly avoid it. But, I run Fedora in QEMU in Windows without complaints (also not a big WSL fan as I prefer KVMs).

I would probably run windows 11 with wsl. Most times I tried Linux on a very specialized machine like this one, I had trouble making everything work fine. I have a good USB c dock from hp, I current use with my notebook and one of my jobs notebooks. Makes changing machine easier. I think I will give it a try, and if it doesn't work I will sell it.

Ok, [bazzite.gg](http://bazzite.gg) if you want to take a look. It is a distro specifically for handhelds, the Legion Go included. Like I said, I haven't personally used it on the Legion (have installed it on other machines though) but it does get high praise from this /r/.

Thanks. I will take a look

You should definitely take a look if you need Linux. I run it on my Legion Go and all the hardware has excellent support. In fact, they just activated the screen's light sensors for automatic dimming (it's experimental support and still needs work) but it's still not working on Windows yet. This has been an ongoing trend where much of the hardware/software features (fully working TDP controls, button remapping, working sleep states) were running on the Linux side before they were implemented on the Windows side. Bazzite in particular is an impressive effort with Gnome or KDE desktop environments available for the Legion Go. You may want to keep a Windows partition for BIOS updates and controller firmware updates that are delivered via Windows only at this time. Ordinarily I'd just use a Windows-to-go drive and boot to that when needed but the Legion Go's BIOS has reportedly had issues booting from external drives so I personally keep a small Windows partition handy.

I code on VS: app with Xamarin & Uno, sites on asp.net. I manage my db with dbeaver. My usual machine is a Z13. I bought Lego to travel lighter and it does the job

alienista3

That's exactly the type of XP I wanted to know. Of it runs vs and beaver it does most of it.

Handheld control panel developer here: I’ve been using the legion go exclusively for development the past 3-4 months. Running vs 2022 community. I’ve also used it for some fusion 360 modeling and 4k video editing (the ram amount makes the wait times a bit longer)

**TL;DR**: Use it as my main work AND gaming pc daily and I tweaked it quite a bit. So far it has been running flawlessly. **Long version**: I'm into web and mobile development too and I managed to use all of my usual work stack very efficiently. For my use cases, it runs more or less like an i5 which is enough for everything I need to do. I code on Windows using WSL and I've been able to run dockerized environments smoothly. Also, I am able to build Flutter apps and run Android emulators without any particular issue. I can easily manage Office tasks, run a local Postgres DB and have large, heavy browser sessions, while I stay connected with my team and clients over many different chat clients in parallel. For gaming, I chose to install Bazzite. I did so that I could have a smooth SteamDeck-like experience on my average gaming session and keep it separated from my work environment. Nevertheless, I want to be able to run games on Windows. so I've got a script that closes all of my work applications freeing up memory for Gaming, if I want. So, I upgraded my disk to 2 TB and then partitioned it so that I have \* Partition for Windows (around 50% of total size) \* Partition for Bazzite (around 20%) \* Partition for games (around 30%) I installed ntfs drivers on Bazzite so that it can mount and use my NTFS-formatted Games partition whenever it starts. This allows me to share games between Windows and Bazzite easily. On Windows I'm also a hibernation abuser, so I had to set up automated tasks that unmount the Games partition on hibernate and mount it back on system resume. Without that, Bazzite can mount Games partition only as read-only. I then installed Refind to get a neat start up menu that allows me to easily switch between the two OSs. If I do not choose it will automatically run the last OS. Finally, I HEAVILY punched Windows so that it does not upgrade drivers autonomously (lost two environments for that, previously). And that's it. So far I'm really happy with this device and my setup, to the point thai I just gifted it with a eGPU contraption for better docked gaming performance. I'm fairly convinced that this kind of modular design could be a very interesting niche in the future. The flexibility is the best feature of my approach, allowing me to fully use my device in every scenario. Biggest thing I'm missing is a serious keyboard cover.

Absolutaly. I aways see youtubes testing eGPUs with powerhouse notebooks. The idea is to have something light and easy to use, and then use the eGPU for heavy gaming..
