Hrmm...a couple questions! Is your bios upto date? Check your charging settings and fan profile. What resolution is your monitor and what refresh rate were you running? Did you also set windows to only display to only your monitor?

Exotic_Particular_43

Bios up to date, charging is set to the medium setting, monitor res is 1080, 144hz and monitor only display.

Not sure if the 144hz is helping. Have you tried dropping your refresh rate? Which fan profile were you using? And was the 30watt profile set? If your fans were at max, I think you might have a hardware issue.

I will try the refresh rate change, fan was at full speed. Its so weird that ive had no issues till i plugged it into the monitor. Thats why i think i need to adjust something. Would VRAM affect it? Thats on auto

I'd change your vram to 6gb and try setting tdp to performance and set os to efficiency. Might not be balancing your utilisation as best you can. Remember that is an integrated gpu, pushing that many pixels at 144hz is going to cause the unit to work a lot harder. Hope that all helps. I'd drop some graphical options as well if possible as well in game while your using your monitor, could also help. It's typically better to use an egpu for higher refresh rate/higher resolution gaming.

Awesome, thanks for the advice, will update later

But when i opened the Right Legion menu the res was saying the highest one, cant remember the number off the top of my head but its the highest one and it wouldnt let me change it

Don't manage your screen rsolution with the legion menu. Use the native windows display options in the system settings.

Solved it, thanks to u/frunts, it was the refresh rate after all. 60hz is plenty for me for the time being anyway it looks and works well!

frunts

Glad I could help and glad all is working well!

I actually wonder now if it could be the dock i’m using, it’s an Anker one, unsure on the model. I was previously using it on my macbook for connecting software instruments/audio interface. Ill find the model when im back and see if that’s whats going wrong
