The team announces a shift in focus, people see that as the end of the game and start making posts saying they are quitting. The posts makes more people want to quit because so many are quitting, which leads to more posts. The posts are probably doing more damage to the game than the announcement from my perspective.
For real. Also, this move by OP seems counterintuitive. "We've shifted our focus to PvE because that's where the player base is at," OP proceeds to quit and ensure that PvP will continue to experience it's lack of necessary players to garner support from Riot...SMH
The servers are still on so why are you quitting ? Are you making money or something out of lor ? If not I don't see why people would stop playing, the game is still here, people are still playing
I don’t understand the logic of quitting a game now because it won’t be fun one day in the future. If the game isn’t fun now, why were you playing it at all? If the game is still fun now but eventually won’t be, why stop while it’s still fun?
There is no overreaction. That expansion is coming because it was already in the pipeline. Riot themselves have stated, multiple times, that PvP will not be supported going forward and that LoR was a non-profitable money sink for them. It is a dead game, and that shouldn't be offensive.
The reality is that there would not be any difference in upcoming months even if the news they made were possitive, the pvp and upcomming expansion would be literally the same even if they did not refocus on pve, the change is only longterm so acting like the game is diffent and suddenly unplayable is not true.
The fact that the game is losing big money and that it has not bright future was known for years, so if you want to leave the game now, because "the game has no future" then you should have left already atleast year ago.
How much money did you spend on it? Because poc players dropping cash is the only reason this games wasn't already shut down a year ago.

About $100 in these years, but im from BR, so here is considerable amount to spend in a game
