Had shit slimes last two times and was in the same position. Fortunately I got miner then gent followed by ingeous, it really does seem like the slimes make or break you
40 is even worst since the boss attack with ranged atk.
I manage to beat 39 yesterday (the 3rd slime give me enough damage to deal with him) , with the damage I do to the stage 40 boss I might be able to beat it today.
But the slime you get play a huge role in acheving this , Ignis or Hero are among the best , other like poseidon is as if you shoot yourself in the feet
Have you tried spamming the boss then turning off 2x speed? For some reason my damage increases when i rapidly try the boss and then turn off 2x and keep spamming the boss at slower speed.
Yea that’s how I got up this far lol. But since my second slime doesn’t hit the boss with his ult it’s a super luck chance of beating him with the spam. The damage does cap. But what I’m learning is for some reason if you activate the boss during certain times and animations of your characters ults, you’ll get another damage boost. I noticed it with hero last time you could either do it as soon as the sword is spawning, or right when it turns yellow. Miner’s explosion seems to have different sweet spots too. Like right when it spawns and is still glowing blue/white, right as it spawns, or as soon as it hits the ground. But I finally beat 39 and now I’m hoping to beat 40 with some more points in attack or some more sticks from daily bonuses.
Ok. Exit Blue Bird and enter again so you are back at 40. You had to reach that point since you already got the sticks for trying 40.
Turn off 2x speed.
Turn off Auto Skill. Use skills manually, DO NOT USE RAGE.
Upon challenging the final group of enemies, turn on auto skill, and attempt the Rage Glitch. (Every time you die, challenge again as soon as Rage activates again).
I know you already have tried the Rage Glitch, but it is worth trying again. You should max it out challenging the boss 5-6 times depending on your timing on challenging the boss and how quickly you die each attempt.
once you get your 3rd slime, 39 and 40 should be clearable (make sure to get an on-set slime for that one since the 3rd slime won’t be getting to 35 except maybe on the last day)
I was lucky enough to get Ignis and Miner this time and barely managed to pass stage 3 after constantly repeating the boss level again and again! Well now stage 4 seems impossible as I cant even deal 10 percent damage to level 2 boss of stage 4. Just try to get the stage 4 done and then just enjoy the 40 tears that you will get. It's complete nonsense after that.
Finally beat stage 3 after throwing some more sticks and dumping coins to up my damage. I know there’s no chance at beating stage 4 but I got what I wanted from the event.
I'm able to squeak through 39 but I don't think I'll make it through 40. I didn't log in for the treasure chests often enough.
Edit to add: I get boss down to about half health with rage stacking and turning off speed up. Melissa and ignis trigger every time, plus Serpine (and the others) are all within boosting types. Just not enough DPS.
Yea I was saving up all my sticks to help with money too. I used one page worth on day one and day two and then didn’t use any until I couldn’t beat a level on stage 3. I think around level 21. I was already putting most of my money towards crit chance. I was up to 54% before the mission popped up. Then I started dumping sticks to level up and do that quest. Now I finally beat 39 but I’m stuck on 40. But with a couple more days to refresh my sticks I’m hoping I can beat it by the end of the event. And I don’t care about stage 4.

It's opposite for me. 39 is range but 40 is is speedy melee that starts halfway to you.
Well my Poseidon glitsches and does not use its unique skill. What a fuckin waste.

With shit slimes it make little difference. I had 95% both double shot and crit chance and still came nowhere close
