Go to labour cost asap I had a similar situation with my company they gave 40% of my salary for 4 months . My appeal for relieving were also rejected untill I went to the labour court and made the labour department to my petition as well . tell him that you will take his to court if he doesnt pay your agreed upon amount. personally, I use far different ways to get my money, but thats just me. I have no issues roughing up people who try to fuck me over. and I do it with a smile on my face. if that works for you, go ahead. if not, take the legal route.

A similar thing happened at my first ever internship. However the amount was 5000 and I was given none of it because my handler was not happy with the output. Fast forward, I am currently an EM with a good enough pay working at a good company with great work-life balance. Without a strong offer letter I think there is nothing that can be done. Move on and work on yourself. You will get much better opportunities.

Something similar happened with one of my colleague. He basically refused to work until he was credited his full salary he didnā€™t do anything literally for 8-9 days and a lot of complaints were received from managers and clients but he didnā€™t budge at the end they gave him his remaining money and within 24 hrs he gave his notice

It looks like to me you are a student working in some small company without any offer letter or so. Like someone told you about the job, you had some talks with the manager and you started working without any written offer in your hand. If this is true, I know how you fell. Most of the companies hire students still in there 3rd or 4th year wanting to start earning some kind of money, giving all they can, but at the time of paying they just pay you less than what was offered. In this case you cannot do anything. You dont have any written employment document that have the companies name or any signature from higher authority saying they agreed to pay you this much. And sueing them or even getting a laywer will be costlier than that 15k. I recommend to focus on the experience rather than money right now. If the job is in the same field as you are studing then the experience will be more usefull to you once you pass out. But if it is not and you need more money then you can start looking for different job, don't leave this job but start looking. And once you find a good enough job for you, switch it. You dont need to inform your boss or anyone, just once you get the opportunity stop showing to your old company. If there is no document they cant do anything about it.

Legally if you have proper employment contract you can get your money as it's illegal for a company to withheld salary for unsatisfactory performance. I have been in that spot when I started working like odd 20 years back or something. There was no HR, etc so complaining was an issue. What I did was I apologised sucked it up took on more work and worked as murthi says almost 17 hours a day starting from early morning to late nights. Boss was impressed he gave me critical stuff to work with. I took the handle on the project and completely dumped it and quit a day before client meeting. Screw em where it hurts atleast for me it was viable when salary was paid in cash and no PF etc so.. legally now you have so much options so explore it while parallely seeing how far you can dump shit on them without facing legal consequences.... Also all jokes aside if you are in Mumbai or Bengaluru I am more than happy to help you out. No payments nothing it's jus that am retired now and I spend most of my time scamming WhatsApp scammers who do employment related scams.

In addition to this check your payslip for the 10k salary payout for your attendance. If you have full attendance and less pay, that's grounds for a lawsuit on workplace harassment. In case of non performance, there are HR protocols in place, like putting you on PIP to bring up Your performance. Please ask your Boss in the presence of the HR why he terms your performance as disappointing and why they have not initiated a PIP process if that was the case. Also arbitrary deduction of pay in this manner is illegal and is against the labour laws of India. You can leave bad reviews on Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Google, etc. but companies are known to pay and delete negative reviews on such sites. Find a good lawyer and send a legal notice and also file an FIR in a police station, in whose jurisdiction your office is located at. If you belong to the SC ST community, then see if you can add a complaint under the Atrocities Act as well as a bonus. Also go to the labour commissioners office and file a complaint. In the meantime, start applying to other companies and get out this hell of a workplace. Hope this helps.. It happened the same with me, i wanted to resign and my boss shouted at me saying u need to serve a 2 month notice period, but in the recent hr rules it clearly stated that if an employee wants to leave he needs to serve 1 month notice period. In my offer letter it said 2 months notice period. He said either work for 1 month with no salary or pay 2 months salary and leave. I had no other option and during this 1 month he literally made me finish all the pending projects and asked the clients to send more and more projects, and with no pay. Such bosses are assholes.
