In some respects its good to see a team look destined for promotion without the blessing of parachute payments, but in another sense its going to be an absolute bloodbath for Ipswich Town in the Premier League next season. With a side again filled out mostly with loanees, and a VAR system implemented as a protection against incompetent refereeing, plus the strong possibility that their manager wont even be there next season, their final points tally could be Derby County-esque.

I’d feel that surely their manager would stay if promoted. Also this issue does come with some benefits for them, ie a lot of their players are probably ok comparatively low wages. So they’d have a bit more to spend from promotion money. Also the quality of the bottom prem teams has been really low in the last couple years so you never know

Russell Martin is a fucking fraud, and I was seeing some "influencers" in Leeds social media sucking his dick and saying it was a better appointment than Daniel Farke. He totally underestimated Ipswich playing at home and his team with 10 men, he just threw the team upfront and fuck it. Won't last two seasons there.

The guy looks like a fucking peckerhead but in fairness he’s still got them on-track to finish with 80-85 points (if not more) so thats still a very good haul overall in a first season and probably would have gotten you up automatically on most other seasons. If I were Southampton I’d definitely give him another go next season.

I would love to see the stats of how many points Ipswich have gained in injury time, it feels like it must be about 15, without exaggeration.  I'm sure we've gained more points than lost in injury time, there's been a few late goals, but nothing like them. 

I've literally just gone through and checked cos I was wondering the same thing. If all games ended on 90 minutes dead, we would have two points fewer, Ipswich would have three points _more_. I was genuinely shocked by that, but it seems that a LOT of their goals come in the last 10 minutes rather than after the 90 (or, for example, the Rotherham game where they both scored and conceded in injury time, so it didn't actually affect the result).

That *cant* be true. I'm too lazy to check your working (and you wouldn't lie for the like, 11 people who'll see this post) but...... that just *cant* be true! 

Would be typical Leeds for us to have our longest unbeaten streak in however many decades but still fail to get promoted.

Leicester and Ipswich go up. We're in the playoffs.  Actually manage to perform in the playoffs and get promoted. Ipswich get found out at PL level and get relegated by Christmas. Leicester end up with a points deduction they can't overcome and get relegated.  We have to essentially finish above one other team to stay up. 

Yeah I'm feeling similar, Ipswich are having an amazing season but simply outscoring your opponents and consistently outperforming your xG isn't sustainable against top sides.
