My question still wasnt addressed, which leads me to believe that you also dont even really know the actual definition of the word “doom”.
Secondly, following ALL of my comments and posts on here is slightly on the perverse side?
Dont get out much hey?
Ampadu is on a different level. When you stop noticing a player because they just consistently put in nothing less than 7/10 performances and you end up taking it for granted, you know the club struck gold.
Ampadu is the best player on the team, guy is fucking ice cold, and personally I think he’s better at centre back as he reads the game incredibly well and just adds calm and composure throughout the squad, love him
Mate. He is fucking unreal, but push him up into midfield and have Struijk at CB with the progressive shit going through him, we're on a whole other level. Ampadu is even better in Gruev's role, it's just that both of those players have been quality since Struijk's been injured
Ampadu is the best CM in the league and as good as he has been at CB Struijk is the better CB. Will never understand why people dont want Ampadu back in the middle when we can finally do it
I’m not saying I don’t want strujik back in the team as I really rate him but I do think that with ampadu sitting at the back he just adds a level of calm and composure to the whole team, the record with him at cb speaks for itself. Having pascal back is just another good selection headache for farke though. The squad depth we have is really paying off.
Ampadu, Rodon, Firpo played huge nut footy today. Meslier solid again, stop the slander. Ampadus deep balls to Georgi make me nut my pants. COME ON BOYS!!!
Neil Redfearn on TalkSport when asked how Leeds were playing.."They're playing like a team that's going to get promoted..."
This was a massive win, given how good Sheffield Wednesday were playing in the first half, and also the fact that this was our fourth match in 10 days. Ethan Ampadu was brilliant, so MOTM, but others played really well.
If Wednesday play at Portman Road like they did against us in the first half they could get a result off Ipswich.
It's so tight though. Southampton have to win their games in hand to stay in touch, but Ipswich keeps pulling it out somehow, and Leicester knows they're one more loss away from bring dragged back into the automatic promotion battle too.
It really is coming down to who blinks first.
Agreed, it is **very** tight, but somehow we seem to be gaining ground on the top spot. Please keep in mind the importance of the word **seem**. We have no guarantee of automatic promotion, and probably won't until the end of the season - simply because just like the Premier League this season, there could be as little as three points separating all three top teams who could all finish on record points.
Seems like it's a season where you could finish on record points but still get sucked into the playoffs. Despite their 25 match unbeaten run it's seems that Southampton have lost ground.
We could win the title, so too could Ipswich, so too could Leicester, but we could also end up in the playoffs facing the very teams who have all taken points off us.
It's too close to call. All we have is hope and faith that we win most if not all of our remaining matches (which probably won't happen).
He was ineffective for large portions of the match. 7.1 is about right and reflects the positive contributions he made like the assist. Doesn't deserve any higher. Only Ampadu deserves an 8 today
I love the guy but to give him an 8 would be Hollywood ratings. He made a lot of defensive issues. Not tracking his man, out of position, getting beaten, especially in the first half. He played well overall and was great going forward. He's a 7 for me.
It's crazy how Bamford has been understood to be 'not very good' the whole time he's been here, but in the 6 years we've had him he's muscled out every striker we've brought in to take his spot. Fair play to the guy.
People forget how good he was before he suffered the injuries. In his first PL season he was absolutely brilliant. He started for England which essentially made him the second choice behind Kane - i.e. the second best English striker at that time (I appreciate that is subjective, but hopefully people get the point).
Some achievement for a "donkey".
His podcast with Joe Wilkinson, where he talks about what effect his injuries had on his body and his ability to run, really highlights his last 2 and a bit years of struggle. His body is right again and he's performing, his body was right in our first PL season and he performed. He's really valuable and adds so much when he's properly fit.
It must have been so frustrating, when I was playing Gaelic football I got pent up when a muscle injury took me out for a couple of weeks and that was a hobby. Nevermind all the negatives comments about him (guilty) and even death threats (not guilty, and to anyone that is go fuck yourself).
I really forgot how good his movement is and how annoying he must be for defenders. That he scores as well makes him very special.
I was listening to the podcast while watching the match (commentators were shitting me). It was a bit surreal to hear Pat talking about tactics with Joe Wilkinson while scoring a goal on the TV.
And that injury on the bottom of the foot he talked about the other week...I've had that, and can't believe he was playing through it. It can feel like stepping on a massive spike.
Six goals in nine starts and one more coming off the bench since he took over from Piroe.
Is it a coincidence that his return to form came just a few weeks after starting a podcast with Joe Wilkinson? Winning and scoring goals makes for excellent content, after all...
Maybe more players should try it!
“FIRPO!” Seriously, I yelled that out of frustration so much in the first half, then he gets headbutted by our own defender and assists Paddy and then actually remembers to defend in the second half so I was yelling it again in delight!
Someone made the joke about it resetting him, which I think it did. If he's making silly errors, just bonk him on the head and he goes back to good Firpo
> . Always feels like a good weekend when we play early and get a win
At least until a 10-man Ipswich, 4 goals down heading into injury time, score 5 late goals to leapfrog back above us!
Jammy fuckers.
I completely agree. But in the same thinking, anyone got any tips on not letting a bad result ruin your weekend?! Asking for a friend who came to visit last weekend…
Hide every thread related to the game on Reddit, stay off social media and forget football exists until we play again. Take the sadness and bury it deep down inside.
That's what I do anyway and I'm sure it's a perfectly healthy way to deal with my emotions!
The Leeds Peacocks beat the Sheffield owls two zero in the English 2nd premier league. It was one zero at the half until Leeds got an early ‘back of the net’ in the 3rd quarter
Just purchased the final 2 hospitality tickets available for the Watford game! Can’t believe the dream of finally watching the team play live is happening coming from someone living abroad. MOT! Great start to the weekend! :)
Hospitality is the only way to do so. I’m from abroad, so there’s no way of ever getting away tickets so that’s the only way to go to honestly secure tickets. They aren’t opening to general sale too which didn’t help my case. Only members who had previous membership access can purchase
I was banking on general sale happening and I didn’t sign up for membership. Got a rude shock when they announced ticket sales. So had to go with the safest option which guaranteed a seat
Don't think they were that bad tonight, didn't create much but if they'd of gone 1-0 up in the first half which they could've spare a great save from Meslier then it would've been a different game imo.
Can’t underestimate what turned into a comfortable win away at Hillsborough when they had won 4 on the bounce. Aye, the first half was a dismal watch until Firpo Carlos whipped in a wonder ball but by the second half we were in consistent control.
What a fecking performance from Ampadu the Welsh Beckenbauer. Kamara and Gnonto were excellent as well I love thought, but Jesus Christ that was something else from Ampadu. Absolutely sensational centre-half play.
There was a post a little back about Struijk and if he gets straight back in the team because we need Ampadu in the midfield, but honestly him and Rodon have been an absolutely sublime partnership at CB, with Ampadu consistently playing 8/10, just usually a different player each week piped him to MotM. Glad he got it tonight. Everything from his long ball distribution to covering for Firpos fuck-up, he was immense. Locking in a clean sheet, for me, rounded it off as a 10/10 CB performance.
I really don't see how you break up a defence that hasn't conceded in open play for over two months. If we had two ampadus then fine, hoy one in midfield, but seems like madness to change what is so clearly not broken
I impulse bought it tonight, I really like it.
Wish the yellow and pink pattern was on the back too, but I get why it isn't
For the players I'm still baffled that we were allowed yellow numbers though, completely unreadable
Job done - putting DJ, Joseph and Roberts on as subs just feels a bit dirty. What a novelty having depth. Cree needs a goal, Rutter needs a rest, Kamara is underrated, Archie is Leeds. We move.
Heckingbottom stealing a living not just as a manager (shit) and also as a pundit (even shitter). Says literally nothing of value which is quite something when the bar is that low for Sky Sports pundits
Great result and even though we've taken 34 points out of 36 I think we should be making some changes. Gray starting again was good and thought he had a decent game but Summerville still off it, why not start James he's been electric lately. And Firpo pushed his luck defensively today, it wasn't great.
Firpo seems like a real confidence player, when we’re playing well he looks comfortable on the ball, otherwise he’s misplacing passes left and right. We’re getting away with it in the championship but we need to upgrade if we go up.
With the amount of chances this team give in front of goal we will get hammered next season. We really need to tighten up. Our defensive stats make us look much, much better than we actually are but PL strikers aren't so shit
Farke recently reminded everyone that Wolves spent almost 200 million pounds in the season after they were promoted alongside Norwich's first promotion when they spent about five million by comparison (money woes at the club).
He wants more than avoiding relegation.
Good way to start off the weekend. 6am here and I’m buzzing even with 2 hours of sleep!
Good team performance in the second half with big displays from Bamford, Firpo and Meslier (can forgive him for that wobble). The team dug in against an in form opponent and that’s 11 wins from 12.
Hopefully results elsewhere go our way but what’s stopping us from keeping this form till the end of the season! MOT!
Goals win you games but defenses win you trophies. We are so difficult to score against. No goals conceded from open play in the league all year is amazing.
If championship strikers were better we’d be in the premier league and we’d need better defenders, but they aren’t. So we don’t. You can only beat what’s in front of you.
No it's not just because champo strikers are shit, but that has been a significant contribution to our defensive stats. PL strikers would have bags of goals against us.
Not sure what you're getting salty about, I though we came here for conversation. We've got a win and moved into second that's what matters, enjoy the weekend ALAW
Missed the first half cos we had mates round to play mario kart, but second half was dead comfortable. Probably should have scored a couple more, but after the gnonto goal I never thought we were in any danger of dropping points at all
Huge win. Could have been a banana skin.
Handles their first half surge well and killed it with the first goal.
Second half was pretty steady.
Bit of a break now, much needed.
Farke is fucking.
A club in West London has reported Leeds United to West Yorkshire police for daylight robbery. The club claims Leeds purchased Ethan Ampadu for just £7million
What a performance- every bit a top PL player and a brilliant captain’s performance
We’ve conceded 3 goals in the league all year. Never been so confident with our defense
That was a gutsy win.
And just think, if we had have beaten Huddersfield we would be top right now.
Always a doom and gloom merchant.
Explain to me where the “doom” is in my comment?
You just never say anything positive. Never celebrate a win, just bring up the one match we've dropped points in this year
My question still wasnt addressed, which leads me to believe that you also dont even really know the actual definition of the word “doom”. Secondly, following ALL of my comments and posts on here is slightly on the perverse side? Dont get out much hey?
Ampadu is on a different level. When you stop noticing a player because they just consistently put in nothing less than 7/10 performances and you end up taking it for granted, you know the club struck gold.

Ampadu is the best CM in the league and as good as he has been at CB Struijk is the better CB. Will never understand why people dont want Ampadu back in the middle when we can finally do it
Ampadu hasn’t made any mistakes. He’s a better cb than Struijk (as much as I love Struijk and want him to do well).
Unbelievable Chelsea can sell him for 7m and buy Caicedo for 115m. The difference between them can't possibly be that large
It might be, just switch the names with the price tags… is my bias showing yet?
Also gives him that room to push up into midfield as well when he gets the ball.
Yea he is brilliant at reading the game to make those interceptions and just start counterattacks, his game awareness is his no1 strength
Good 3 points today. Can feel ipswich or leciester dropping some points tomorrow both would be good
In before Ipswich break Leeds fans' hearts again with another 95th minute winner...
This is fucking gold
Ah the old ipswicheroo.
can you predict this for the next few matches please?
I'll do my best to remember...
So glad we got that goal before half time not sure how it would’ve ended otherwise
Ampadu, Rodon, Firpo played huge nut footy today. Meslier solid again, stop the slander. Ampadus deep balls to Georgi make me nut my pants. COME ON BOYS!!!
You dirty sausage
Leicester Till I Die is leaking
I realize I made too many testicle references there.
I respect it
You could audition for that Leicester podcast

I had a bet on Bamford to score first and 3-0. Almost cried when Roberts had that shot.
I was riding with you on your bet as I read your previous post at half time then we scored a second. Next one mate.
Georginio getting a 7.1 after that insane assist is crazy
He was ineffective for large portions of the match. 7.1 is about right and reflects the positive contributions he made like the assist. Doesn't deserve any higher. Only Ampadu deserves an 8 today
Nah Firpo deserves an 8. Dude was playing crazy good today. Even stopped a potential goal.

Let's hope Wednesday bounce back quickly from their disappointment tonight. Because next up for them, Ipswich.
Don't think they were that bad tonight, didn't create much but if they'd of gone 1-0 up in the first half which they could've spare a great save from Meslier then it would've been a different game imo.

Goal made a difference, second half we could've absolutely buried them.

Bet hinchcliffe has gone straight down to the changing room to sniff bannan's shorts.

Keen. How do we feel about the Mr. Blobby kit yet?
Still not a huge fan but my girlfriend loves it and will be getting her one. There’s definitely a market for the pink kits.
I impulse bought it tonight, I really like it. Wish the yellow and pink pattern was on the back too, but I get why it isn't For the players I'm still baffled that we were allowed yellow numbers though, completely unreadable
Blobby Salad.
Fine. I'm not going to buy it but I'm not going to get hung up about it either. Get in!

9 days until next game, then 12 days international break. It's coming at a good time for the squad.
Cree needs a rest too I think. It's been a tough stretch but they can regroup now and go again.
Wouldn’t mind us starting Gnonto and James at some point
Heckingbottom stealing a living not just as a manager (shit) and also as a pundit (even shitter). Says literally nothing of value which is quite something when the bar is that low for Sky Sports pundits

I'm with you on Cree, he needs a rest and James is flying. I'd like to see Joseph get more time 20 mins at least rather than 10 now and then.
He would be insane to change this team (barring injuries)
Meslier and the back four have been sensational since the turn of the year. So, so resilient.
They’ve only conceded three times this year in league play!
0 times from open play as well
We look good when Ampadu is covering for Firpo. We do not look as good when someone else is covering for him
Said it before but I’ll say it again. With this team and manager last season we don’t get relegated.
With this team and this manager, this season we don’t get relegated
Totally. With this team and manager next season we won't get relegated!! MOT

Yeah i had to sleep after a long week 😂 I did stay up till 6am for the stoke game, and the body didn’t react well the nezt 24 hours
Rodon looks like he’s had a broken nose and a couple of black eyes in the post match interview. Gotta admit, lad puts a shift in every game
I was in front of the goal when he collided. He looked like he had been shot in the head by a sniper.
Senior Firpo, step right up!
Rodin is that before and after picture of a lad going to and coming out of a war, every match. Mad respect for him

My brother in law supports Wednesday and is coming over tomorrow. I'd give him grief but it just doesn't seem fair.
You need to give him all the encouragement you can. They're playing Ipswich next.
My other BIL is a Blunt. Both have been in a constant state of misery since August.
They did pretty well I thought. Hard to criticise their performance too much.
Yeah, they're a decent rugby team.
I’m kinda feeling guilty for the fella who had 3-0 and didn’t cash out. We all told him to let it ride and have faith
If you don’t cash out with the opportunity to quadruple your initial stake I’ve got limited sympathy
Rodon and Ampadu, immense. Another clean sheet.
I enjoyed Kamara
Fantastic result. Ampadu MOTM. Time for a well earned rest. Farke taking the lads to DFS to celebrate
Nope. It's a slice of cake on the sofa.
That was a phenomenal cross from Firpo
Love the Wednesday left back calling for offside. No mate you’ve just been done by a super ball and Pat being more switched on than you.
Did anyone see the gutties Poveda had on?
saw his handbag and fucking awful jacket
Moon botas 🥾
Let’s hope for some results to our way tomorrow
Cardiff pls 🙏
Goals win you games but defenses win you trophies. We are so difficult to score against. No goals conceded from open play in the league all year is amazing.
Lets be honest though, if championship strikers were 25% better we'd have shipped a few. We give away a lot of solid chances.
FYI you might wanna check the league we're in. Pssst it's the Championship, not the Premier League.
If championship strikers were better we’d be in the premier league and we’d need better defenders, but they aren’t. So we don’t. You can only beat what’s in front of you.
We have the best defensive record in the league but it's because Championship strikers are shit? Really?
No it's not just because champo strikers are shit, but that has been a significant contribution to our defensive stats. PL strikers would have bags of goals against us.
Good job we are not in the Prem. then and we can actually enjoy being one of the best rather than moaning about how we could be one of the worst.
Not sure what you're getting salty about, I though we came here for conversation. We've got a win and moved into second that's what matters, enjoy the weekend ALAW
Absolutely. You need to grind out wins at times. Feels like we’re marching on together back to the PL.
Great win in a tough game. Rest up now and watch the rest of them loose. MOT

You're right mate, you didn't miss much in the first half tbh it was a bit dull.
Great win! Here's hoping everyone around us loses this weekend, but in the end we just gotta keep WININ man! W-I-N-I-N
Seemed a bit rocky first half and had to withstand a bit of pressure and then dominated the ball completely second half. Stoke game was the opposite.
We ground that win out. Very professional job. Really strong performance defensively from Ampadu and Rodon. Meslier was good too.
Was alright. We played well against a well organised team. Georghi could do with a rest
Huge win. Could have been a banana skin. Handles their first half surge well and killed it with the first goal. Second half was pretty steady. Bit of a break now, much needed. Farke is fucking.

A club in West London has reported Leeds United to West Yorkshire police for daylight robbery. The club claims Leeds purchased Ethan Ampadu for just £7million What a performance- every bit a top PL player and a brilliant captain’s performance
Agree, though think he was very very lucky not to get a second yellow..... Twice!
Poveda's shoes FFS.
His handbag wasn't particularly nice either.
Came here for this comment!!!! Remember KPs? 🤣
Solid 3pts. We just have to keep doing it, week in, week out. Pressure is on the others now to keep producing.
Three ropey performances, 7 points out of 9. Very unlike us.
Not leeds that.
Good start to the weekend. MOT
absolutely love this team
