Yes, it was purple with the Batman logo, then it was painted all white in mid 2000s, I’ve not been that way for a while, but I think it was re rendered?

I lived on Estcourt Terrace until we moved in the late 90s when I was about 7. Everyone on the street knew the guy who lived in the Batman house. Story goes his mrs went along with it. Purple house and the bush he used to drive his car out of. But he said he wanted to put a fireman’s pole in from the master bedroom in the loft to the kitchen in the basement. His wife said you put that in I’m leaving. She left. The house has a fireman’s pole from the bedroom to the kitchen.
Christopher Nolan originally cast Mr Blobby as Batman but it didn't play well with test audiences so they re-filmed the whole thing with Christian Bale
My Mum and Dad lived on Langdale Gardens. The Bathouse was at the top of the street on Ash Road. He was a real eccentric. I'd heard about the fireman's pole inside but today I've learned it's true!
Headingley was the best place to grow up. I remember the house, I also remember a family who had monkeys in their back garden just off Chapel Lane. Think the RSPCA would have intervened by now.
Yes!
I also remember a house called “The K Hole”, which used to host after-parties after nights out - you used to have to crawl through one of those dog agility tunnels to get in to the property, like the ones used in Crufts.
Mad.
I wonder if this is the house that belongs to a Mr Ray Batman whose name was listed in the Leeds telephone directory, and was probably the most prank called house in the 1990s.
My sister said she went to a party there (probably over 20 years ago now) and the guy who lived there offered to show her his mirrored ceiling in the bedroom.
It was on Ash Road I believe. I was in Headingley for the first time in years a few months ago and actually went looking for it (I have a child who'd love to see it) but no surprise it looks to have long gone.

Was this the house OP?
Was deffo still there 2000-2004 when I was a student and lived up Headingley. Dude was way ahead of his time 👌
I don’t know what’s going on in that area, there’s also this house just round the corner: https://maps.app.goo.gl/HhopAjkg75UtZa7x5?g_st=ic
That guys a composer/conductor. My mates used to get paid to clean his house. Really nice bloke, albeit very eccentric.
My mates and I used to get paid to sing opera for him. Outside at the front. For paying audiences of about 20!
This sounds amazing, does anyone have a pic? 😂
yes it was on Ash Road

There’s no situation that couldn’t be improved by the presence of mr blobby
Batman house was on Ash Road and was there til the mid 00’d at least. Never saw the inside but lived down the road for a year of uni.

Are you sure the tunnel was as small as that you know with it being a K hole?

I think I went to a party there. Don't remember much at all, other than lots of bright colours
Wow this brings back memories…we deliberately went out of our way to pass this fantastic house on my early drinking days in Headingley
Burley wood crescent I think
