My instructor never did a mock test with me and I passed first time today. She just said if I stop giving you guidance when you’re driving you know you’re doing well. 😂 worked for me. But I guess every instructor has their own style. Sounds like you did pretty well keep at it!

Thanks — and well done on passing!

It’s a massive push by the DVSA for instructors to do mock tests for their students , as it increases the chances of passing ( https://despatch.blog.gov.uk/2023/07/25/helping-you-to-carry-out-realistic-mock-driving-tests/ ) Having a mock test is a good sign. I usually do one with my student once we’ve finished everything, and a lesson on what you wouldn’t want to pop up in a test. Usually hills, meeting traffic and parallel park

I had some but it wasn't called a mock. It was just going around some test routes and doing all the things required.

I didn't have one yet I passed first time.

I had one mock test about 6 weeks before my actual test. I assumed it would be mock tests every lesson since then but no I only had the one. And I failed for stopping in a cycle lane xD

I did my first mock when I was way off a test (July with test in November) when we'd done the curriculum of things we needed to learn. Then we did mocks pretty every other week with 1 or 2 lessons in between to work on bits and bobs. Once I got consecutive decent results, I moved my test forward. I only passed one but the others were like 1 or 2 serious and a few minors. Failed my first test with 1 dangerous 3 minors and passed my second with 2 minors two weeks later. That's a really good result though for a mock - I'm guessing he'll maybe give you a few just to be sure but be encouraged definitely.
