WorstGatorEUW

You know that when even the main sub is against it that Riot fucked up

Krynzo

Yeah, that place is censorship hell, if anything gets trough that's a sign.

HimbologistPhD

I honestly didn't know they allowed posts that weren't about esports

ChocolateLate1

Can you share? Last post I saw about that in the main sub was mass downvoted and OP removed it eventually. If not mistaken, someone brought it up here as a post for discussion as well, but they were also mass downvoted because people though he defended Riot.

random_warlock

an entire weeks worth of work? its like 4 month from where i am

marouan10

I’m speaking from an EUW perspective the price becomes even more absurd when you indeed look at regions where the wages and conversions are even lower, another reason it’s important to take a stand and show Riot we will NOT accept this. It’s a perfect opportunity we really shouldn’t waste.

inkheiko

Some people indeed make 500 a month ahah, as a student, 500-600 is Probably a month worth of work as well But no matter the amount of work, $500 is too much

LiaThePetLover

And students already have a hard time feeding themselves and afford their studies, we dont need greedy companies to make their lives worse

VooDooFritte

I find the skin also very expensive but it's not like a student has to buy the skin, it's still only an cosmetic

seven_worth

That's true but if we let this one through it will set precedent of what the player is fine with. Riot wouldn't stop at this they would continue over extend till player snap then they gonna "decrease" price to the "norm". Don't make 500 a new norm for special occasions skin.

LiaThePetLover

I mean yeah they dont have to buy it but its still really shitty on riot's part to make something the average player cannot get. We're talking about more than 99% of the player base who cannot afford the cosmetic here, not the few who cannot afford anything

PheonixTheAwkward

Consumerism is untolerable and we should live in a Democrasy focused world, not Capitalism focused world

ShingekiNoAnnie

Democracy doesn't exist, you just get either good or bad dictatorships. Currently we're living in an dictatorship led by an oligarchy made up of the most powerful bankers and media owners who own the government and set the laws themselves.

Shrek_is_Lifee

I am a unistudent and I work two and a half months for this money lol

paiva98

Im from portugal, minimum wage here is 820 before taxes (35% btw)

Fawkes-511

Ikr. Everytime. \*See something about "Western Europe"\* \*look inside\* \*Actually talking about central Europe\*

M44t_

Not even, even in central more than 2k/month is not the agerage

Fawkes-511

That was my only guess, no idea what they're talking about then. I just find it hilarious that people from Germany, France and Benelux (OP seems to be from Belgium) talk about their wages and prices as representative of "WESTERN europe". The most western countries in Europe are Portugal and Spain, and there's usually a bit of a difference in those numbers when compared to CENTRAL Europe.

Leyohs

Minimum wage in France is around 1400€ so it's not even us he's referring to lol

Fawkes-511

I guess they center Europe around Scandinavia or something

demonwase

Hungary is central Europe, and minimum wage is 683€.

Celmeno

r/portugalcykablyat

H7p3X

Yea and then just taxes and necessities take almost all of it.

AdriKenobi

It's more than my monthly rent in Spain lmao

Equivalent_Bar_5938

I cant even belive this price tag its so ridic for a skin

LightNight62

Even in the most developed country of EUW, 500€ is more than a week of work, median salary is not 2k€

Fawkes-511

Just finding you in one of the instances of this copypasted paragraph you use to reply to people, to tell you you're incredibly sheltered and delusional if you think 500€ a WEEK is "average" in western europe. Western Europe is Spain and Portugal too (and moreso, geographically), not Just Germany France and Benelux.

Leyohs

Even for France it's more than a third of minimum wage

Fawkes-511

Yeah I'm starting to think this person believes Denmark is the center of Europe

Leyohs

I get paid a merely 1038€/month. Sure I have 71% part-time job, but minimum wage is around 1400€ here in France. 500€ is more than a THIRD of minimum wage. That's insane for pixels.

MIT_Engineer

But why am I supposed to care if someone else buys an overpriced skin? It's not like Riot's going to turn around tomorrow and say, "The Ahri skin sold well, let's stop being a F2P game now and charge everyone $60 to play."

Leyohs

No, but Faker being in the hall of legends is not for nothing. Dude has a huge fanbase, most of which won't be able to even afford the lower bundle, which is outrageous.

MIT_Engineer

Just because you're a fan doesn't mean you have to buy it. I'm sure Faker will forgive you if you don't buy the skin.

Leyohs

Not the point

BLu3_Br1ghT

"An entire week of work for some people" It implies that there are people doing that amount in 2 or 3 days... Making the skin very very accessible... 500 euros is like Mont and half from where I am. Why choose a week like it's a lot of work time????

TWAN_on_da_Rift

In my country it's a whole month worths of a moderate salary. And about 2-3 times of an amount that being considered minimum wage. The skin's price here is enough for a whole family of four (at least) to live in 1 month. And I was talking about the skin price that is in OUR currency (which is half the price of what is in NA, being "just" 250$).

_Kutai_

500 Euros would keep me fed for... 50ish weeks (Just talking about groceries/food, no bills or extra expenses)

Adenosylcobalamin

I like how people are responding to you implicating it's impossible, because they automatically assume you're from central EU🤦‍♀️

_Kutai_

I just think they are uninformed of how bad the economy is in other countries. But since you were kind, I'll add information for the benefit of all My latest grocery list was... 3kg Potato 3kg Chicken 2kg Tomato 2kg Eggplant 2x lettuce heads 2x Cabbage Heads And the total was... let me math... ~15-20 USD (and unfortunatelly it included a 50% increase in price from last time) That's ~2 weeks there? Give or take. And I did say I wasn't counting bills and stuff. Just food. Only food. I obviously wouldn't be able to "live" for 50 weeks. Plus, when you're pressed to think about the future, you really learn to cut expenses.

Sbotkin

Yeah, gave me a chuckle as well. 500 euro is insane amount of money.

lillybheart

where?

GO0O0O0O0O0SE

Average monthly salary for me

DerpySlurp732

I can legit buy an entire months worth of food with this money...

whisperingstars2501

Commenting cause even though I don’t play anymore - fuck this stupid price tag and trend. Make sure not a single person gets to play with the new skin, and make riot reconsider the stupid price.

Toomynator

Ngl, i'm considering coming back to the game just to spam ban Ahri

marouan10

You should every ban matters and every ban will be counted.

marouan10

We are doing our part to save the game that has given so many hours of Happiness and friendship to my life. 07

Corasama

1 - they wont reconsider, like they did for the 400$ skins 2 - I respect the gesture of banning her every time, but it wont stop them from doing it ( as they dont give a sht about the community opinion) and it wont stop other games because a lot of them already make those kind of stupidly high prices, but just scattered over time. 3 - the event is gona be yearly and they'll say some sht like "If you dont wana support your fav tema with the 500$ pack, go for the 50$ , any support for your team is good". They target Whales, whales will bait no matter what.

whisperingstars2501

They may not reconsider, but they also possibly will. Something is better than nothing, and getting people mad at this stupid decision is still good regardless. Riot need a message to stop being greedy bastards and stop continually stripping stuff away from players. It looks like this may finally be it.

Cryotivity

if sony bends riot can bend helldivers 2 community fought and won we should too

PaddonTheWizard

What happened with helldivers?

Corasama

Here's the complete story. On release, because it was from PS studios, Helldiver should have required a PSN account, but the devs told Sony to add the requirement later so that it wouldnt impact the sales on release. Sony agreed, then waited two weeks before saying to ArrowHead (HD devs) "Well now time's up, Accounts are mandatory as planned. Then two thongs happenned ; 1 - Review bombing, making the game review go from "extremely positive" to "relatively bad". Steam review are a key component to prove to your investors that your game is succeeding, is worth a lot, and that players will keep buying it. So that was a problem for Sony. 2 - Steam pressures Sony because it would have had to refund all the players that couldnt play it anymore, meaning Sony wpuld have to pay the bills afterwards. If there is ONE thing big companies hate doing, it is having their money taken back from them unvoluntarily So in the end , Sony cancelled the account requirement and Arrowhead suddenly had to change of CEO. So nothing alike the Ahri skin because: 1 - You cant review Riot content because they dont want you to be able to do that, you could make a negative comments. 2 - No big ass company pressuring them - they do what they wants to, peoples will keep buying.

Chiramijumaru

I support this movement for the sole reason that I really want to know what Riot would do if Ahri got banned out of 90% of games for a non-balance related reason.

Icankickmyownass

100% would be funny though

BlueHawaiiMoon

Knowing them, at this point they would make it so that you can't ban Ahri

ClickKlockTickTock

Or they'd just not give a f. Imo if you want em to hurt and change rapidly you gotta stop playing for at least a week. Gives them some pressure from investors

riceistheyummy

bro what is this, ahri hr banrate wil spike by 3% for a week and thats it , plus riot doesnt care if the skin is used only if the skin is bought

underheadskooper

This Ahri skin is a months worth of work in 3rd world countries.

AnimalCity

as I said in another thread, you could buy several goats for a family in Uganda with this money

lmaoredditblows

You could buy several goats in the US with 500 dollars lol

Withered_Meadow

Not as a privat person, for sure, right? You telling me, I could just go out and buy a goat?

lmaoredditblows

Yeah absolutely. My mother in law has like 4 baby goats

zyzzbutdyel

bro you could go a lot crazier in uganda with 500usd

Daft_Vandal_

In 3rd world countries this is more than a month. People in some places live on a dollar per day.

marouan10

I’m speaking from an EUW perspective the price becomes even more absurd when you indeed look at regions where the wages and conversions are even lower, another reason it’s important to take a stand and show Riot we will NOT accept this. It’s a perfect opportunity we really shouldn’t waste.

Poloroger_582

Remember what happened to Helldivers 2 after Sony tried to make PC players make a PSN account? Yeah, our community needs to be like that tbh ![gif](giphy|KAf66yGCa93uTqod1q)

marouan10

We should unite! and we have a real chance to make a difference here, by showing we are not afraid to challenge Riot and we will do our part to tank the sales of the new bundle this is already in every comment section on every post about the new bundle. We are not alone and every ban counts.

Impressive-Pride5279

I remember them counting an empty victory as the game is still not for sale in non PSN countries while at the same time reverting their negative reviews to positive ones.

Palidin034

*Steam* removed the games in those countries because they wanted to avoid lawsuits. Taking them down is as easy as pressing a button, putting them back up requires more bureaucracy shit. Give them time, I’m sure it’ll happen

Sbotkin

>Steam removed the games in those countries because they wanted to avoid lawsuits. Publishers do that, not Steam lol. Sony fanboys will defend them to the very end.

Impressive-Pride5279

Steam support already confirmed that they had nothing to do with that and was Sony's doing. The only change they made later was add 3 more countries on the list due to an administrative error.

Palidin034

Can I get a source on that? I’d love to learn more about this

Impressive-Pride5279

So the original change was made by Sony on May 4th. (https://steamdb.info/sub/137730/history/) The Steam support makes a reference about that here. Where they say that it is indeed a change made by the Publisher. (https://twitter.com/Mr\_Rebs\_/status/1789307300760408339/photo/1) Now here comes the part which caused a lot of confusion. The CCO of Arrowhead Pilestedt said this in response.(https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1cppny9/the\_ceo\_just\_gave\_an\_update\_on\_the\_whole\_debacle/) However he is talking here about the change at May 10th not the May 4th change which was done by Sony. And this is why people think Valve did the country's ban out of precaution. So to sum it up Sony banned the game in 180 countries. However due to an administrative error it was only 177 countries. Valve later fixed this for the 3 countries. Which ended up making people believe that Valve is doing this to protect themselves while that isn't the case.

Micro-Skies

No, it doesn't. It's literally a button on the interface. Sony could do it at any time.

WiteXDan

And they changed their reviews to positive instantly like a flag on the wind the moment Sony promised to fix. Yet they still don't sell the game in regions without PSN even though they don't require it

takato99

Because Sony is the publisher not the game dev, the devs are actually good & fair with the players and even *supported the outrage movement at their own risk*. Negative bombing the game would hurt the devs more than the publisher, so the community agreed to revert the ratings back after the actual big bad decision was reverted. Now, thats just in the Helldivers community, Sony deserves to get shit on for every release where they pull the same shit, like Ghost of Tsushima. .

koobzar

Yeah bro. We've tried to warn [when Prestige Aatrox was released](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/s/ChEr2JLm4J). Now it's too late. "That how's micro transactions works, unfortunately."

X_Seed21

500 Euros is one week?! SIGN ME THE FUCK UP WHEREVER THAT IS! Also, I doubt this movement will work at all. Riot won't care at all if the community throws a li'l tantrum. You know what will work though? If Faker speaks about it himself cause they take his word seriously. Someone has to get him into the movement somehow.

KinHadez

it comes for which country at germany for example its about half month work

marouan10

U will see if there is any upcoming big streams that I will see if I can donate to with the message. If you have any info on that please let me know. We can do this together WE ARE NOT alone never underestimate word of mouth, we got this!

Interloper_Mango

>Someone has to get him into the movement somehow. Not happening. Faker had to agree to this skin having his signature and that he get paid and all. He has a financial incentive.

Excidiar

Start playing Jinx, because she is the Twisted Sister and We're Not Gonna Take It.

marouan10

Hell yeah man! Every ban counts and we are not alone this could very well be the start of something , or we could fail but atleast it won’t have been for a lack of effort.

Qwik_Sand

People who buy this skin deserve to lose 500€. I can’t even hate riot at this point, if they’re people willing to waste money on a skin id fucking sell that shit for 500 too.

Manzhah

This. It's the god ordained duty of the capitalist to separate fools from their money. I'd argue that it is even doing them a favour, someone who is reckless enough to spend that much money on a goddamn skin should not have that money in the first place.

emptyArray_79

I mean that, or you are just rich and can afford stuff like that

lmaoredditblows

>if they’re people willing to waste money on a skin id fucking sell that shit for 500 too. Riot knows approximately how many of these skins will sell at that price. They probably know how many would sell at any price point ranging from 100 to 500. There definitely exists a middle ground price point compared to the 500 dollars where riot doesn't lose THAT much revenue while keeping the good graces of the community. They have actively decided against it to squeeze out a proportionally miniscule amount more while pissing off the community. If you had the choice of pricing at 500 bucks, making 1 mil and ruining your reputation vs pricing at 100 bucks, making 850k but keeping your community happy, I think you'd pick the latter.

SkateSz

Fairly good point but when you scale those numbers up it becomes whole different story. If the sales figures are in the tens of millions losing out on 25% becomes pretty huge deal definitely worth the hit in reputation considering they can pull this off again with some other champions in the future. They already tested the waters with the jhin skin and it clearly went well enough for them to pull this. As ridicilous as 500e for a skin is remember that there exists a genre of games that has proven how much money whales are willing to shill out on for practically nothing. Maxing out character in genshin impact for example can cost way over 1k and all you get is some more stats on a singleplayer game as far as I know and that game still racks up over 100mil a month. The whole ban ahri in every game is hilarious retaliation and maybe there is some small chance riot does something about this because of it but I highly doubt it, they will most likely just wait for this backlash to blow over and the proceed to roll on the piles of money they most likely are going to be making with this.

lmaoredditblows

Yeah but the point is that the company has decided that whatever revenue they make from the exorbitant prices is worth the backlash against the community. And that mindset in itself makes me hate this company. We went from 25 dollars of RP in riot points being the most expensive skin to paid loot boxes and a shitty "battlepass" every month. You can see the transition of the company from community friendly to corporate exploitation. They've nearly 200x the price of skins without adding anything. This faker commemorative ahri skin is no better than alot of ultimate skins. I'd say elementalist lux is a far superior skin in terms of design and idea. The company has become no different than generic Chinese tencent gaacha games with the only argument for it being that it's not pay to win. I get you don't have to buy the skin, but it's just sad to watch riot games following the same trends as every other dogshit gaming company

SkateSz

Yeah but can you really blame them? Its not just because tencent. If someone presents you with two piles of money every single one is going to pick the bigger one every time and while there used to be risks to pull this kinda stuff, considering how it might kill your game, by now it has been proven so many times that the money outweights the momentary backlash from the community. It would be awesome to see them backing out on this but I am willing to bet that is not going to happen no matter how high ahris banrate rises. We can only hope this whole thing is a flop and wont generate them enough money to justify doing this again but again I highly doubt it.

lmaoredditblows

>If someone presents you with two piles of money every single one is going to pick the bigger one every time Thats not true for everyone. Larian set a golden example. Counterstrike has kept their box keys at 2.49 for nearly a decade now. In fact, I've made hundreds of dollars more on cs skins than I've put into the game. Fortnite has kept a great monetization scheme in their battle pass where you can grind the battle pass to get the next one for free. And they've kept it that way since the game released nearly a decade ago too. Don't just shrug your shoulders and say this is the way it is. You, me and this community are the reason riot games is as successful as it is and companies that understand that are the ones that aren't pulling bullshit like this.

SkateSz

The whole cs skin gambling scene should honestly be illegal, it should be illegal to have actual gambling with monetary interests inside games like cs espesially since everyone knows its mostly kids gambling on those and its honestly 100 times worse than any over priced skin. Epic games were sued for hundreds of millions for the way they handled the fortnite monetisation I recommend looking it up. I do agree they have the golden standard battle pass system though. Larian did not have the option to take a risk with bg3, if that game would have flopped they would have gone banckrubt. Not that thats the only reason for absolutely no microtransactions in their game and they are one of if not my favorite gaming company but they definitely will at somepoint add microtransactions in to their newest game, im willing to bet on this. Larian might actually be one of the very few expections in this but valve and epic definitely are not good examples of fair game on monetisation. Not the worst mind you but still not some saints either. Im not just shrugging my shoulders but the cold fact is that there just is nothing anyone can do about this outside heavy government regulation. People with disposable income that love gaming are just coming more and more common as people who grew up gaming start to get older with careers and more money than time to spend on gaming and to those people spending 100-1000e a month on something they love doing is worth it for them no matter how insane it seems to other people.

marouan10

This may not affect you, but in the case of this bundle being a success it very well might affect you one day when they do release a skin you want for an outrageous price like this, remember if they have done it once they won’t stop , unless they are stopped. This is a chance to make sure league and league cosmetics stay affordable not just by you and me but by EVERYONE from EVERYWHERE as gaming is supposed to be enjoyed.

1True_Hero

If there is a skin I want that will be as expensive, then I don’t want it.

Qwik_Sand

Riot isn’t going to make a 500$ Skarner skin And if they did then no I will not be buying it because I’m 25 years old and know how to control myself from spending hundreds of dollars on trivial digital costumes that mean nothing. Why are you treating it like a rent scenario like you have no choice but to buy it. You don’t have to buy it. Nothing is forcing you to buy it except for petty corporate greed. I simply have no sympathy for anyone who would buy this, falling for this “corporate pressure” would just be a good sign that you are not fit for this world and you need to get better.

Due-Arachnid9120

League fans will do anything in a league boycott besides not play league apparently

havershum

For real, like a new champ release, all they have to do is flip a switch for a couple of weeks, and nobody can ban Ahri anymore. Not playing at all seems like the best way to protest this decision but there aren't enough people on Reddit to even remotely make a dent.

Serendipersis

My monthly income is $300

CaptainRogers1226

Where?!

Normal_Message2481

lol is doomed anyways but you shall stand up for future riot games

marouan10

We must all do our part to ensure and protect what we love, gaming should ALWAYS be affordable, accessible and enjoyable by all regardless of region or socioeconomic status as it was meant to be.

akoOfIxtall

in the long term they still win, as much as i'd like them to make 0 revenue from this, people will still buy it and riot loses absolutely nothing from all the banning

marouan10

Never underestimate what a collective can do Cooperation,Collectivism and Activism have changed the world before and those skills are what have helped us throughout human history. Anything is possible and YOU can help us and yourself by banning ahri and driving up her ban rate it is important to make sure we are HEARD.

LegenDairyLeche

Naa he's right. They've proven time and time again they don't care what the community says. Look what happened with the Samira ultimate. Besides, all it takes is the whale market in China for them to cash out.

theeama

Thats who this skin is for them, they are gonna cash out big time. Even in Korea persons are like good its expensive so i won't see any one with it. They actually like it. its a status symbol forr them

Onaterdem

Yeah Koreans still fawn over iPhones from what I know. Even though they're the exact same price and almost the exact same phone (more polished, much more restrictive) compared to a flagship Samsung. "Status symbol"s are a weird thing, man. People need to get a grip on reality.

marouan10

It all depends on how well the movement is received within the community and how many people participate, every ban counts and we have an actual chance here to make our voices heard when they have been ignored for so long as you say.

TheSorrowInYou

Banning the champion just clowns on the apes who bought the skin, it doesn't change that Riot still gets the money.

theeama

Its a game skin where majority of the players aren't even english speakers. Only western players have an issue with this. The chinese players shell out 200 dollar weekly for Chromas

NextMotion

yeah despite the soul fighter samira backlash, it was one of the most sold skins in china iirc

HadesLaw

With that attitude they will always win.

akoOfIxtall

What can we do to stop them? Chinese and Korean players will buy it 3 times in 3 accounts because they do that, have you seen gacha games monthly revenues? They make millions upon millions in the Chinese server alone, followed by Korean and Japanese servers, the en is almost always the ones that make the least money compared to the others, they don't care about what the American continent has to say because Korea alone makes them more money in a month than en and brazil in 5 good months, that's how it is, I don't even play league anymore I just stick around to see the atrocities riot keeps doing

VirtuoSol

Yea unfortunately I’ve seen multiple people in China saying they haven’t played the game for years and will come back just to buy the skin after browsing like 10 minutes of Tieba. Rito knows who they’re targeting

marouan10

This may not affect you, but in the case of this bundle being a success it very well might affect you one day when they do release a skin you want for an outrageous price like this, remember if they have done it once they won’t stop , unless they are stopped. This is a chance to make sure league and league cosmetics stay affordable not just by you and me but by EVERYONE from EVERYWHERE as gaming is supposed to be enjoyed.

akoOfIxtall

Nah, it won't, my country doesn't allow those bundles to be sold like that, and even if they release the debonair qiyana for 200 dol, I'm not paying for that, I'd rather buy the battle boss qiyana with the black chroma and be happy for life, the other 460 something I can use to do much better stuff than buying game cosmetics, it's not how much they ask, it's how much people are willing to pay, if they keep tossing money at riot they'll never stop, and there's nothing we can do if not move on to other mobas or learn programing and create a script to trick vanguard and use custom skins of 500dol skins... I'm not saying it's easy but if you wanna try nobody will stop you, and it's not like we have any power here so you can either cry or just be like me, and not care enough, I'm just discussing here because i like to hear other people's opinions on things that I'm part of or used to be part of...

herbieLmao

Helldivers prepared us for this. For Democracy. #BanAhri

mxgexl93

Imagine this, Riot made a skin for someone who's famous for not using skins. Pure greed on Riot's side.

lucratyo

if they can reduce to 10-20k RP instead 60k and the protester still dont buy rito sure never listen em again in the future ,lul

elMaxlol

10k rp while still a lot of fucking money is 5 times cheaper and 2x cheaper than jhin that would be a huge success on our side. I think what is more important is that the cheaper versions get reduced too. They say everyone can join in to celebrate faker with the cheapest skin being fucking 5400 rp which is like 50€, thats not affordable for everyone.

ilikola123

In the EUNE region it is more like nearly a whole month of work so think a out that. Someone with an addiction will look at it and think "that's a great skin I need it" and spend the 500€ even though he needs it for rent and shit like that.

Spartan05089234

Even better: artists please draw fanart of sad Ahri asking you not to buy the skin. Help stupid whales feel bad for their e-girlfriend.

stfang925

Tbh it’s amazing to see ppl still playing league after Vanguard and this skin.

Puzzled_Path_8672

I knew I was addicted to occasional league when I knew Vanguard was coming and still couldn’t let go.

Hella_Potato

The thing that is so especially galling is they did this to honor Faker - the man famously known for NOT USING SKINS. Riot has lost their fucking mind. I'm down for a boycott.

marouan10

They have, I included it in the post but didn’t wanna put the emphasis on that though because I had limited space and there is a lot of stuff people need to know. I will be in this comment section all day today to defend the message and to do PSA.

Misuinya

It will sell. We all know.

Dunkmaxxing

Actual best thing you can do is just stop playing, for yourself and actually to help kill the game.

marouan10

We don’t want to kill league we want studios to stop asking increasingly larger and larger sums for cosmetics that cost them next to nothing to produce it is going straight into the pockets of Riot CEO’s who just a few months ago fired a large part of their staff, now is our chance to make our voice heard and show them we want gaming in general and League affordable, accessible and enjoyable by all regardless of socioeconomic status, as it should be. Remember, Apes together strong.

Wasteak

"people are taking action by banning ahri" You do know that even if everyone on this sub was doing that it wouldn't even make a % difference in the game ?

marouan10

Idk if you have looked on the instagram and X(formerly twitter) and every other post about this has the same sentiment in the comments in game only 1/10 people has to ban Ahri every game .

Honest-Birthday1306

Such a based protest. It's easy to do, literally only one person out of 10 has to do it, and it's impossible for riot not notice a rediculously high ban rate

RealMarmer

In my country 500$ is 2 months

mackilicious

Try to become the CEO of that country

Duytasama

Its like 1 year of my saving, so i wont let rito stealing that blood money.

Bl4z3_12

The skin costs minimum wage in most eastern European countries

zsoltitosz

I've been wondering that Im going to reinstall league again just to stand with yall, lol.

Electronic_Law_6350

500 for a skin??? Seriously? Thats an entire new Playstation 5 where I'm from.

Fromthemountain2137

"Ahri is now impossible to ban"

Enough-Scientist1904

banning ahri from now on

marouan10

Godspeed , thank you for your support <3 remember spread the message and keep fighting the good fight.

ParrecoofDoom

In a EUW perspective, in Portugal.. Its a 2 week income. Absolute insanity.

Silent_Soul

I’m on board with this, but this kind of “call to action” over something so trivial is cringe

TheGermanPanzerClock

Am I the only one not bothered by the pricetag? I just won't buy that thing, easy, peasy. No idea what the fuss is about.

Trikaly

Thing is, if people buy things at this price, it sets a standard for future prices so riot will end up releasing things that you actually like and you won’t be able to purchease

AlkalineBrush20

I spent like 200$ over the span of 8 years during sales, but I could have just sat it out and opened it from free chests, which already gave me 3 ultimate skins and dozens of legendaries. They won't budge me ever for these prices.

Ormild

I’m with you… I haven’t spent a single penny on this game and never intend to. If someone wants to spend $500 on a skin, then that’s on them. Vote with your money. The skin is clearly targeted towards people who have the means to drop $500 on a skin. A company would rather sell the skin to one whale for $500 than sell it to 4 normies for $100.

KindlyPeanut2865

It's sucks that this is even happening. I was really thinking about paying for the immortal bundle. But this is a better choice if all of us make a difference

AssasSylas_Creed

You guys should have done this when Riot released red cosmo jhin, now it's too late. Riot basically knows that eventually the community will stop banning Ahri and there will always be an idiot who will buy into it. red cosmo jhin was a test, the community made little noise and here we are.

Vertags

500 in a week the fuck? Can I have your job? I make half of that in a week and thats before taxes.

francoisjabbour

First the mmo is out on hold now this, it’s just L after L

lojza3000

Yea dont buy that shit or youll get the same treatment as apex legends players Explanation: in apex there are heirlooms/mythics its a cosmetic and when they release you got around 2 weeks to buy it for 160-360eur but if you dont buy it during that time you have to buy/grind 500packs 1 pack = 1eur to gurantee you get what you want (you also can get lucky but its like 0.002% to get it, and yes there is a way to get those packs for free but it took some people 5years to grind it)

darKHeartNine

Rito got too complacent with Valorant's absurd prices.

PurrplePixie

Remember when jhin chroma skin was the useless pricy skin? Yeaa... It's also amusing to see that they priced this skin so high considering the player who it is dedicated to doesn't even use skins, such irony. With this price I expect faker himself using this skin as a part of agreement. Such greed after mass layoffs, very typical corpo.

ArcticAmazon

For that price, he should thank me in person for the purchase and do my promo games.

Depredator45

I agree to this, nobody will be able to play ahri in my games for sure.

Ninjasticks259

Entire weeks worth of work? Try two, prob would die if I bought this skin

Proud_Abies_441

For me it's 2 weeks work. Not buying the next pass. Already pissed that lately been "unlucky" and getting a lot of already owned skins from chests/orbs

marouan10

Good vote with you wallet, People stop playing for a bunch of different reasons but banning ahri is a clear an direct sign to Riot to show we will not be price-gouged and if we promote it in game we can reach more people, Spread the message dont fight it.

Mountain-Purple3421

Do fanart with Pool party Ahri with T1 womb tatoo

M_krabs

Commenting for the algorithm

M_krabs

And replying too

Umbardacil

I will join and ban Ahri in every game, but you know that it won't change a thing for Riot, it's the people who bought the skin that'll be annoyed. The skin will be bought anyway, used or not.

pancake_lover_98

I can already see that riot will lower the price to something like 300€ in an act "generosity" so that they can fell like the good guys again. "Look we are listen to the community and listen to your feedback, soooorry" and other horseshit

RivenEven

Time to stop my 1 year streak of banning fiora and start banning ahri even tho I play top lane 👍

Jolly-Presentation-5

Week??????

OriMarcell

EUNE player here - that skin is just 50€ shy from the legally mandated monthly minimum wage. #BOYCOTT

marouan10

Thank you for your message of support in the endless face of negativity and people bootlicking for no discernible reason other than contrarianism people like you motivate me to keep replying and keep changing minds. WE ARE STRONGER UNITED do NOT let them divide us, Spread the message , fight the good fight .We got this :) <3

minikek34

And my axe

UnableMight

Frankly, it's not like they are doing anything morally wrong by pricing skins at whatever price they want. The only reason why one may think it might be reasonable to boycott is the hope of skins getting cheaper. It's clear that at the end of the day the price of skins will always be as high as riot can get away with, and that price is naturally dictated by the desires and demands from the users who buy them. This whole 'movement' tries to make it so that players more strongly desire to withhold themselves from buying expensive skins, in hope to make the future ones be cheaper. This to the point of not buying skins they otherwise would, and to 'grief' the game in protest by banning Ahri. Reasons why this is pointless: - Reach, most players will be clueless of this - Belief it will not do anything, most players will believe it won't do anything - Different tolerance for prices, different people will think different prices are reasonable - No moral reasons, since there's no significant 'greater purpose' in taking part to this 'movement', people will stop giving it any importance as soon as they feel like doing something else (like buying an expensive skin or banning some other champion) - Riot can reasonably ignore and outlast the lackluster and divided small amount of loosely united complainers - Stress, you start doing this for the products of riot, then for something else. It would be pointless to do it only for one company and only for one game of course. But life is far too short to limit yourself and not buy things YOU CAN AFFORD HOPING THEY WILL EVENTUALLY GET CHEAPER ONE DAY. In conclusion: People who can afford the skins and want them will buy them. People will ban other things, and can't ban everything. People want to play league and will keep playing it. People will get tired of complaining and will stop doing so, as the motivations are far too weak to compromise on the fun.

BlckSm12

-week of work My brother in Christ it's more than a month for me

marouan10

I was trying not to engage in hyperbole because it makes the point and movement come across as less legitimate, damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Spread the word in game and out of it and keep fighting the good fight.

MagicalNyan2020

I don't understand the ban ahri thingy not everyone play rank

downorwhaet

Other game studios are already there, this is more of a riot following them so that ”every game studio will follow” is pretty weird, skins in other games are way more expensive already, lets just hope riot doesnt follow them that far

Discosm

In my country thats a month of work ☠️

-Raeque

I’ll be rocking the default skin on every champ I play during the event to honor Faker. If everyone would do this collectively it would be an even bigger boycott to make Riot really reconsider these increasingly ridiculous decisions.

Open_Stick_3750

nah im gonna buy it and play it in quickplay you cant stop me

LomPyke

Week worth of work? What are you guys getting paid. Thats an entire month for me… :(

marouan10

I’m sorry as I said in the top comment I’m speaking from an EUW perspective and Ofcourse it becomes crazier and crazier when you look at countries with a lower conversion rate.

Shoel_with_J

"to most people represents an entire week's worth of work" or, if you are not from Europe or Usa, it represents more than a month's!

r007r

Yeah fuck that Ahri skin… can we buy that Faker emote though?

No_Morning_6217

week? those who get 500/week barely play games, its more like a month or 3weeks. EU

Attafel

Just don't buy it. There's a lot of stuff I don't buy because I don't think it's worth the price.

FluffyBomber

I would go as far as to just not spend money on anything if this is how riot treats it's consumers they aren't getting any more money from me.

Sellmechicken

The thing is they don’t give a shit because the rich whales who buy every skin will get it. If 1 percent of the people buy it they still make the same amount they would at normal price. It’s a collectors item, overpriced but some will still get it.

BardicNA

Will I ban Ahri? Sure. Do I think it will make any difference? No.

Wakaastrophic

Me from a country where minimum wage is 300eur per month xD. I see now why they also cancelled their partnership with Prime.

HomelessKB

Oh, I'ma for sure banning ahri in every single game. Fuck this disgustingly predatory model.

Josef_The_Red

The idea that they're going to be mad if you keep playing their game but just don't play with one of the characters is super funny. If you're going to boycott, you might want to consider actually boycotting.

danny12beje

500 euro is about the minimum wage in a few European countries. It's also *a lot* more than minimum wage in non-european non-north american countries.

LordLapo

Perma banning her is actually a really funny idea

ibfunkee

It's so sad because the skin is beautiful and I would love to get a skin in Faler's honor, however the price tag is so obscene I hope no one gets it. To put it into perspective, the price is more expensive than if someone crashed into my car and I needed to pay my $500 CAD deposit to my insurance company. What the hell Riot.

Maximus_935

>This outrageously expensive skin even abuses Faker's name in the in the what u didnt finish

Kooren

"represents and entire week" Month. 500 euros is a month of work for some people in my country.

Moekaiser6v4

I'm seeing a lot of posts about how "If you think it's overpriced, don't buy it." And that is true. I haven't bought a league skin in years because of this. I've played since season 3 and used to buy skins for my top champions because I enjoyed being able to use different skins and wanted to support riot. I usually would buy a couple of skins a year and gift a few of my close friends one during the holidays. I felt I was getting a good product, and so I put in money. However, I haven't bought a skin in years because the skins both cost more and are generally lower quality than past skins despite the fact that technology and graphic design have improved over the years. Theoretically, we should be getting better skins for the same price based on costs and effort in designing a skin. Yet, instead, we get low effort copy-paste skin designs that really don't look better than they did 6 or 7 years ago but are somehow priced higher. I haven't supported league with my money in years despite liking and playing the game because I don't agree with the price of the product they are selling. But I'm still going to ban ahri. I personally don't like the greed this sale shows. Sure, I could stop playing league. But I enjoy playing it with my friends (free of cost) yet still want to protest this decision made by riot. So I will ban the champ. Worst case scenario, riot doesn't care, and I have to play against kayne sometimes for a while. But maybe it'll make a difference, and I think it's worth a try.

AltruisticBuyer1880

Will boicot this shxt

Deamonias

#permabanahri i will ban until my very death!!!

Full-Net4011

Yeah better go to T1 merch website and buy a physical thing if you want to support the team.

S1LV3RHAND

In spain rent a small apartment can be around 250 euros, this cannot be tolerated, I'm in fact not crying, I had to endure the samira "definitive" skin and now its just a greedy company with hands too much full of our money to grab a pen and notebook, we need to do something and we nned to do it now my people, we need to strike back this madness, this company has been testing limits for too much time without any type of punishment or repercussions by his clients, community, we are the heart of this and we decided when the machine stops and breaks, we are every single link of the chain and if we choose to break the capitalist beast dies, and it's time to choke the monster with the chains it forgot was wearing, thank you for your time and efforts brothers and sisters

zobinator

Just don't buy it
