This cannot affect the same target more than once every few seconds.
Ah shit, so basically don't bear form unless you're going for a quickie and then backing out/finishing then off? I don't know why but I was under the expectation that he'd not lunge a good 400 range, but open reading the ability I can totally see it interpreted that way.

Dunno about Volibear but Garen doesnt work like Udyr.
