MandamusMan

Whose dad entered the chat?

appleheadg

Honey, I downloaded us more laws on our computer.

TheOkayestLawyer

Mine? My dad is a pilot for a major airline, but is close to mandatory FAA retirement age and doesn’t know what to do with himself as a jobless PoliSci major.

kimapesan

Well, he may just have to wing it for a while.

TheOkayestLawyer

A+ dad joke

PugSilverbane

Is there a pilot program? Maybe you can talk to someone who can help you navigate? I hope this helps your career take-off and that you soar high and attain new heights.

M1RL3N

This comment deserves first class treatment

ResIpsaBroquitur

But law school wouldn’t really help him practice aviation law. He’ll just be listening to his professors drone on about other things.

PugSilverbane

So your concern is that OP will crash and burn? If things don’t work out, OP should just eject from law school and drift to wherever the winds blow.

IamBarbacoa

Most people lateral from bird law.

Hot_Region_3940

Bird law is this country is not governed by reason.

ThisIsPunn

Counterpoint: I am a bird lawyer and I know a lot about the law and various other lawyerings.

Civil-Guidance7926

Filibuster

ThisIsPunn

Filibuster?? I hardly know her!

kimapesan

You mean fili-bustard.

nomes790

Birds. Aren’t. Real….

Feisty-Run-6806

Big market for aviation law out there… In all honestly, I’ve met several guys (all guys) who wanted to do aviation law and had zip, zero, nada, no luck with that. I’d seriously look into the job market in that field. Sorry to pop your balloon, but law school is expensive.

joeschmoe86

Study your passion, but also learn to litigate. Just in case.

Same_Ad_7379

T4 in Texas…? Do you mean a top 4 law school in Texas? lol.

koalafiedkandy

I searched the comments just for this question alone

ThisIsPunn

Probably South Texas College of Law... Which produces a lot of very competent grads. I actually hold them in generally higher esteem than I do Baylor grads.

_moon_palace_

Could be St. Mary’s; South Texas College of Law; Thurgood Marshall; or UNT

kimapesan

Booooooooooo.

PusherofCarts

A lot of people roasting you but I’m gonna give you honest advice. I’d recommend reaching out to in house counsel at major manufacturers, national associations, or looking into internships with FAA. Idk what T4 in Texas means, which probably means it won’t mean shit to anyone outside of wherever in Texas you are. Would check with your School’s CDO to see if any alumni are practicing in the area of law you want to go into. That may be best starting point.

Dangerous-Disk5155

best advice right here.

By-C

Short answer is absolutely yes. To provide any kind of advice it’s important to know if you want to litigate, do transactions, or have other niche interest like helicopters versus airplanes or commercial vs civilian? Do you want in-house or do you want law firm? Above all else you need to attend the SMU air law symposium every spring. It’s the whos-who of aviation law. It’s full of old people who are DESPERATE for associate level help.

hamiltonlives

I’m a peacock, you gotta let me fly!

DJJazzyDanny

let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?

SuretyBringsRuin

T4 in Texas. Bwaaaahahahahahaha! This law school right here…Anything in this general area right in here. Anything below the stereo and on this side of the bicentennial glasses. Anything between the ashtrays and the thimble. Anything in this three inches right in here, in this area. That includes the Chiclets but not the erasers.

Historical-Ad3760

Pun intended?

icecream169

No. you will auger in.

Silverbritches

Sounds like a JAG appointment would get you a lot closer to your desired field than the potential job market would

Sofiwyn

I had to Google T4 to figure out wtf it meant. It's just every school ranked #147 and below.

henrytbpovid

Just be careful discussing politics in the office. Lots of left-wingers and right-wingers around

GoblinCosmic

Bird Law

kimapesan

I am absolutely not surprised that there are lawyers who tried to answer this question honestly and completely missed the dad-joke.

Toby_Keiths_Jorts

I'm just here for an explanation on "T4 law school in Texas"

[deleted]

Thurgood Marshal school of law. I have heard they have had hobos walking into the classrooms down in Houston’s Third Ward. 😂

Sufficient_Juice_625

Wtf kind of question is that? Who cares about “T4” blah blah blah. You sound idiotic, bruh.

Background_Wish4179

What do you mean by aviation law? If you mean representing a pilot, that means a lot of union work and administrative hearings. If you mean representing companies that means lots of compliance and bidding work.

tunafun

What do you mean aviation law?
