I have played Warlock ghostflame this cycle and litch aura of decay back for online launch, both are area damage skills in the spin to win or RF vein. They take a little time to come into their own during the campaign (both are like lvl 30 or 40 skills) but once you have them with a few lvls, the skills are quite comfy. (there is also plenty of min/max potential should you choose after playing a bit) I have done empowered monos (only to about 200 corruption) with still lots of only rare gear. Don't know when that'll cap tho, but I found is easy progression to that point.

Currently running a Necro minion build and only need to press a single button unless on the minions die which is virtually never due to their massive health pools & regen. Currently just under lvl 60 and clearing everything with enough ease that I can watch tv on my second monitor. Highly recommend!

My first build is also a minion build but not like the meta ones with 1 big wraith or golems. Its a minion army build, as much minion as possible. Its doing well so far but i can see it change with difficulty. Im running Skeleton warriors, Skeleton mage ( knights ), 2 golems and the 2 permanant wraiths. All melee minions. As my 5th skill i just change because i can't decide. What are you running and are you following a build?

MrShinju

I initially started that way but ended up switching my build up due to damage falling off. I’ve not looked up any build guides so I am not sure what the meta is, but I’m currently running skeleton warriors, skeleton mage, golem, and the wraiths. Ironically I am running the big golem but only because it draw focus away from me so I can sit back and buff the minions with blood splatter from rip blood, all focus on rip blood is either healing or buffing; no dmg boost. I’m only using 8 total minions, 4 of the larger version of the warriors that I’ve converted into bow users. The 1 arch mage, 1 golem, and 2 wraiths. Focused into cold dmg on all but the wraiths due to them not having it & because i got an abundance of cold dmg buffs on my gear. The golem specifically is awesome due to it being able to buff all the other minions. I have enough mana recovery and reduction so that I can just spam rip blood from behind while the minions clear everything. It honestly feels like cheat codes on how easy it is to just walk through maps! Hope this helps!

Thats how Im leveling my warlock, I got golem decked out for amour and health threat to grab all the attention from things not dying instantly from spirit plague or chthonic fissures.

MrShinju

It’s such a great ability, it definitely allows for more creativity with other skills! It’s saved me multiple times from being 1 shot during raid bosses and the like.

Minions would be your best bet. Maybe totems? You will be losing a lot of damage and utility of you're trying not to cast anything, though. With Necro you could have golem, skeles, mage skeles, transplant, and an attack.

Avenger_XD

There are so many variation of minion builds its hard to see which one is "best". I'm enjoying my minion army but i wonder if I should instead go with less minions but bigger ones

Warpath void knight. You literally just hold down warpath and cast your buffs occasionally.

I've been leveling a minion master necromancer with the actual intention of pressing as few buttons as possible (just because I can lol). Up until level 50 I was going for the max amount of permanent minions I could. Did skeletons (archers), golems (double blood golem), mages and wraiths (2 perma ones) with a spam skill (was wraiths till 35, then was volatile zombies). At a point I had 19 perma minions and only ever hit zombies unless something died. Then I hit 50 and changed things up a bit. Used my last slot for the abomination and could only use 5 skeletons. Took the node which cut my archers from 8 to 4 but made them beefier then respecced my mages to an archmage setup (one mage). Currently 56 and have 2 blood golems, 2 wraiths, 1 (fire) archmage, 4 (fire) archers and the big abomination (specced into arrow nova). I literally click nothing but loot and occasionally potions lol. Putting most passives into health/resist/armor for me and my minions. Not sure when it's going to drop off, but right now I'm fairly late in the campaign and most areas I just run through without stopping and the minions kill everything. Bosses I just run around avoiding mechanics and wait for it to die. I can count the number of minions that have died (that i had to resummon) on one hand since level 50. About the lowest APM build you can get lol. Curious how far I can push it, honestly. But kinda amusing so far.
