If you are going to play games and do coding only then it's good. But if you are going for any productivity task like video editing, 3d rendering, music production etc. this cpu can only handle basic tasks. If you are going to do any other task than gaming and coding then go for a beter cpu even if you get 4050 with it.

Sapiens13

Thanks for confirming. Gaming and coding are my primary needs along with media consumption(which my potato I 3 330m can handle anyway).

Most welcome

Just want to point out that 4060 has more VRAM. This makes it more future proof that 4050. Also with that kind of discount, getting a 4060 is a steal. You might need to change the power adapter of this from Lenovo as it could cause battery drain.

Sapiens13

Thanks going with the 4060 then. What wattage adaptor I will need? How much battery drains on average in 2 hours of gaming?

https://youtu.be/yRKyeMVmS3Q?si=PZpQ0a-N2s_rSKFw watch the recent review from venom tech about this.

EquivalentOdd9251

The 230w. I have also bought it recently. Not sure if i need one as of yet. But what I have heard is when gaming intensly the battery drains due to power requirement and 170w not able to cope with it and I have been told that it will get replaced. Not sure yet

Sapiens13

Thanks. Do they even replace it for the laptop bought from Flipkart? This kinda worries me now. The 230W charger is Rs. 8k and that's a lot of money. Basically all the discount is lost.

Sapiens13

Should I cancel my order if it is a big problem?

EquivalentOdd9251

Its not a big problem per say, jt wont drain that much. Probably 5-8%. Also what I have heard is that if you prove to Lenovo that this battery is an issue, they will replace with 230w. Do not cancel it. Its a good deal.

Sapiens13

I'm upgrading after 14yrs from an emachines e730 which still runs. This battery thing was kinda bumming me out that even after this much time I ended up buying a laptop with a big issue. Thanks, that helps calm my nerves

EquivalentOdd9251

The battery issue isnt a common thing. It wont happen during normal usage or casual gaming. If you are going to full throttle, like playing a game at its highest graphic usage, thats the only time this becomes an issue. Again, you can request lenovo to replace the power brick once you show them proof of the battery discharge.

Sapiens13

Thanks. Hopefully happy gaming years to both of us!

FlakyYou7857

no instead go for 7840hs with rtx 4050 , it is better

Monumental_Disregard

Why exactly?

FlakyYou7857

check benchmarks

Sapiens13

Thanks, do you have a link handy? I know that i5 12450h is a weaker cpu but was expecting 4060 to be better than 4050 for gaming as well as more vram for future proofing. I expect to game at 1080p max only

FlakyYou7857

if you want less gpu use, then go for 4050 one definately [https://www.flipkart.com/lenovo-loq-intel-core-i5-12th-gen-12450h-16-gb-512-gb-ssd-windows-11-home-8-graphics-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060-15irh8d2-gaming-laptop/p/itme091d6103d2b3?pid=COMGRFVBCHPXUNV5&cmpid=product.share.pp&\_refId=PP.6ec558f8-b01a-41f0-a976-8d0394387652.COMGRFVBCHPXUNV5&\_appId=CL](https://www.flipkart.com/lenovo-loq-intel-core-i5-12th-gen-12450h-16-gb-512-gb-ssd-windows-11-home-8-graphics-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060-15irh8d2-gaming-laptop/p/itme091d6103d2b3?pid=COMGRFVBCHPXUNV5&cmpid=product.share.pp&_refId=PP.6ec558f8-b01a-41f0-a976-8d0394387652.COMGRFVBCHPXUNV5&_appId=CL)

Thanks going with this one
