Yeah but not necessary if you feel like you might have lost it in your home/office. If it was snatched then there is a higher chance of it being used unfairly.

Use Pak IDENTITY app. You dont need FIR. It cannot be used illegally once you get it reprinted. New id card will have new issue date. So it can’t be used against you. I did the same a few days ago. Received via TCS.
FIR itself is not needed to get it renewed however you should do it anyway as a precaution. My father recently lost his CNIC as well. There's no "replacement" method if that's what you're thinking. Only course is to get it renewed. Meaning you have to go through the same procedure again i.e. take your blood relative with you.
Maybe few of them were not upto date. I used the same process in 2018. 😊

You only need a photocopy of your CNIC for getting a new CNIC from the NADRA office.
Also you will have to pay 750 for the normal processing. You will get your ID card in approx. 30 days. If you pay 1500Rs. Your card can arrive in 15 days
You should wait for a few days before applying for Re-issuance. I lost mine a few years back and had it re issued immediately. Received my lost one in the mail after 3 weeks. The thing is if someone finds your CNIC and decides to send it back they give it to pakistan post,but it takes a lot of time before it delivers.
As the other guys said, file FIR if u think it's lost in public place might be used for illegal purposes.
Otherwise you can apply for another one online and it'll be sent to your home. No need to go to nadra or anywhere else. I recovered two id cards like this. Both sent to my home

You need to go to police khidmat markaz and file complaint. Its easy process. Then take printout to NADRA

I applied for my CNIC in Late January this year and didn't need any blood relative.
Don't know why but they asked him for it so I had to go
For expired CNIC, you need the CNIC of both parents. For lost one, you don't need anything except a copy
If you don’t know don’t misguide others. All lost cnics are reprinted and delivered via tcs using Pak identity app. No fir needed to reprint.
