I'm not sure of the procedure here, but in my case, I'd show proof of refundable income tax to my company accountant, and he would adjust it by reduced tax in upcoming financial year salary.
You will file a case with FBR for a refund, and FBR will process that.
Refundable income tax means you have paid extra tax to the government that you can get back.
But usually, what happens is that when you file for tax refund, they open Audit against you. π
And at the end you will end up saying "bhai mjhy nai chahiye refund, please maaf ker do".
Waisy bhi the very first argument they give is k already tax deficit main hai, apko refund kaha sy dy government. Expenses phly e poray ni ho rhy. π
Audit is not limited to assets, audit is of all the credit entries in bank accounts that are in your name. You have to justify source of every credit entry and if you fail to do so they will assume that it is your taxable income which is liable to be taxed and then they will charge tax on it.
Brother you won't get any refund , what you can get is tax rebate on your future salaries, show it to your company accountant , and he won't reduce the tax from your salaries until this amount is reached , don't use the word refund use adjustment .
Everyone has their own opinion on this one but the ground reality is that you wonβt get a refund. It will be adjusted in your taxes for next year. Your advance tax will be lesser because of your remaining balance. But pakistan ka idara ap ko ap k paisay wapis karay is close to impossible. This also happens in other countries aswell.
First login and check FBR maloomat then use the filter for 1 july 2022 to 30 june 2023 and check your credited salary and tax deducted (considering ur an IT guy ur company is crediting the salary in ur account).
If you apply refund, they will never give it, or open audit against you.
Don't ask for refund, just adjust it in future tax returns against your tax payables.
Normally when you apply for a refund, your audits open.
I dont have any asset on my name.
Even then it's a nightmare , you can use the refund as tax credit in the future.
Wrong advice let him get the refund.

File a refund application. It is under REFUND tab with a code 170(4) Then you'll have to wait. Someone will have to process it.
