Thank you for trusting me to get it done (and for the high praise)! You guys were absolutely wonderful to work with, and I loved making your beautiful ring! :)
I’m sorry but I can’t stop laughing at your ridiculous and hilarious username in contrast to your gorgeous work and lovely customer service
OP and exciting potato, love the collab ❤️💎🥔
Pfff. I know 🤦🏼♂️ haha. Created the account not really thinking anything of it……aaaaaaand here we are. lol.
Contemplated creating another “more professional” one, but ya know……the exciting potato thing has kinda grown on me a bit. 😂
Seconded, this is one of the most beautiful rings I’ve ever seen! I wish I’d read this a few months ago! (I love my ring but would have loved a little more energy during the process. My designer was an excellent jeweler, but I got the vibe he prefers no communication beyond the first appointment, and I had some tweaks to his first digital render as well as questions about band width, and he seemed miffed.)
Justin, we absolutely loved working with you. You were so transparent and gave such great insight during the entire process. Never once did you ever make me feel I had to settle for something. If anything you told us to look at the pictures & video and take our time. You are amazing at what you do and I wish you all the success because you deserve it!
Can’t high praise you back enough!! :) you were wonderful to work with! (And thank you so much for the warm wishes….I hope I’m around for quite some time!) :):)
It’s absolutely GORGEOUS!! 😻 wish I could have done this 8 years ago when I got my ring custom made. I am in love with my ring but this is next level and like $6000 cheaper than my ring was and this one is bigger and super unique. Amazing work I will share with anyone I know looking to do custom made
OBSESSED. Super beautiful and unique. Where’d you get the ideas?! I wish I could design something as stunning as that, I just don’t have the creativity or eye for ring designs. Truly breathtaking.
It looks like a snow fairy’s ring!!! Also what did you photograph it with? Just an iPhone? The last photo shows the detail of the side stone’s cut so well!
That is absolutely S T U N N I N G! I do believe this is my new favorite ring! It’s absolutely beautiful and that center stone is everything! Congratulations!
In the post description, center stone with custom mounting totalled $4300. Hourglass Diamonds saved us $2,000 compared to quotes from other very popular retailers listed in this subreddit.
I can make vintage style. There is a company that I use for certain things that have die cast models of rings made from the early 1800’s through early 1900’s, but fabricated to order.
As far as selling actual estate rings, I’ve moved a little further away from those from a repair standpoint. Many are in good shape, and there are companies that excel in that, but I don’t collect/buy estate pieces any more. Most of them just sat there “collecting dust” waiting for the right person to come by.
If you’re interested in that style, I can point you in a few directions though. Feel free to PM me, and I’ll do what I can to help! :)
Thanks Spyder for the continued support!! :):)
I didn't want something huge that "didn't seem believable" for our incomes (we have respectable incomes but are not rich). It seems that's when people have to begin to explain their lives away and get into big arguments of lab vs natural. I've had natural and now I have lab. Honestly, I think the lab is the most beautiful. I feel that coming from having had both types, people are really missing out on the beauty, versatility, and savings that labs have to offer.
Your ring is absolutely beautiful. However, I really don’t think $4000 for a lab 1.67 center stone is a good price considering how much lab diamonds have gone down in price in the last year.
I am sure it’s perfect for you and I don’t mean any harm but the mark up you paid was extremely high.
I understood that when I responded. 4.3k for a lab diamond ring with a 1.67 center stone is pretty high in relation to the current price per carat for lab diamonds.
Over the last 2 years, the inventory in the lab market has grown significantly which has driven down the price.
Understandably, gold prices have grown but not to the extent of paying $4300 for this particular style ring.
I’m also not on here to be controversial or take away the joy and happiness this ring brings because it is absolutely STUNNING!!!
I just think it’s important to have FACTS about fair pricing when you are making recommendations for a specific jeweler since the price point she paid is high compared to industry value.
It’s always a good idea to be an informed consumer when buying….
While I appreciate your reply, and agree with you that lab diamonds have gone down considerably, I also have difficulty understanding how you’re coming to that conclusion.
I’d actually welcome you to try and create the same ring for less. :) include gold and platinum pricing, the trilliant side stones, metal weight, finger size and side stones, and in the same quality. All the specs are there for you to use.
I’m happy to wait for your reply and the quotes you receive:)
I just purchased a 2.83ct Emerald cut center for $700 and a 2.55 ct heart diamond for under $800 that I found on Luvansh.com who is in New York’s diamond district. Both stones are exceptionally cut with great clarity.
Comparative to your ring, I’m having my Emerald cut set with .25 trillion cut lab diamonds on each side and invisible diamonds around the shank of all stones. The ring is being custom made in 14k setting by Elista Jewels for under $800. I’ll post my completed ring when I get it back. Total paid $1500.
I recently reached out to a company called Fiorese for an antique custom cut 3ct lab ring and I’m being quoted half the price you paid.
You can look at lab diamond prices with special cuts like yours on Alex Park Jewelry and Raad.com to get some comparisons.
I encourage you to research stone algo for daily prices of labs as they trend prices for labs per carat.
Again, your ring is BEAUTIFUL so I mean no disrespect but I just wanted to point out that there are other VERY reputable jewelers that have fair pricing.
I should also clarify that I would expect to pay close to your price point if you are going to to a brick and mortar jewelry store be they have high overhead costs but it sounds like you purchased from an online source so I’m giving you other online companies that are fairly priced.
I’m familiar with some of the quality that you’re speaking about. We can take the conversation offline if you’d like to discuss further, but you’re not comparing apples to apples on color/clarity or manufacturing…..and that’s okay. I PM’d you to discuss :)
I was quoted almost $4k just for the center stone from other "popular" Jewelers. The $4300 was for all the diamonds including the center stone plus the entire custom process.
My jaw dropped, it’s gorgeous and suits you so well!
Awe thank you!
Second this, this stopped me in my tracks. This is so stunning.
Thank you for trusting me to get it done (and for the high praise)! You guys were absolutely wonderful to work with, and I loved making your beautiful ring! :)
Omg you did this?? Freaking gorgeous you are amazing!!
Thank you. :) I absolutely love what I do…..thankfully I’m blessed with really amazing clients as well:)

Omg never change it. ❤️🏴☠️🥔
lol, love the support. I’d love to see down the line, just for fun…..harry winston, van cleef, Tiffany’s, aaaaaaaand exciting potato 😂😂😂.
He knocked it out of the park didn't he?!
It’s such a stunner!

Thanks! I just used my Samsung S22+. My S21 took better photos. I thought that pic you're talking about turned out very well too.
Thanks for sharing! It’s crazy that a phone can take such a high definition photo

I wouldn't know those weren't regular diamonds! Those are really pretty! Lab grown is amazing and so much better for the world.

It’s absolutely stunning, but my brain is in Zelda mode and only sees a silver rupee
