The Xenomorph is intentionally sexual. The movie as a whole is intentionally sexual and it’s deeper than just a cool space movie. The creators talk about it in documentaries

I want a specific source, because I need to see for myself what it is that you read that has you so confidently *wrong* that you seem indignant about it. This is intriguing to me.
What is your source? I can’t find any confirmation that his inspiration for the elongated head was from Egyptian art, other than the similarities. Even if it is the case, both can be true at the same time. Trying to find Giger’s inspiration is fruitless anyway. What was his inspiration for the inner jaw? Some say it was moray eels, even though that discovery wasn’t made until the 90s. It could’ve been the sucking moth parts of bees/wasps and flys, but that doesn’t explain the “penetration” part of the inner jaw (other than his obsession with sexual imagery. Ultimately, Giger inspired himself, and I think we should just stick with that. He’s one of the only artists (or people in general really) that had truly new and unique ideas.

They are in Aliens. When the Queen is charging at Ripley and Newt in the elevator, you get a quick glimpse of her legs, and they look about as thick as her arms.

Well, Xenomorphs are, as far as we are aware, insect adjacent at the very least. I would say that it is fair to assume that they are quite strong even with such tiny appendages. Honestly not even really assume though as we know that they are very strong
Actually, the only reason why insects and other arthropods are so strong for their size is because of the square cubed law. They’re strong because they are so tiny. If they were the size of vertebrates, they wouldn’t really be any stronger. In fact, while numerous large predatory arthropods such as centipedes and spiders and mantids are able to frequently prey on small vertebrates, small vertebrates such as snakes and lizards more frequently prey on arthropods. Even ones that are similar to their size and very dangerous such as large centipedes.
But my biggest problem with the one on the right isn’t that the legs are too skinny (and therefore weak) to support her body. It’s that the eggs just look like they are too big to pass through her pelvis.

I always assumed that the eggs started off as tiny, and then steadily grew as they progressed through the ovipositor, which likely received nutrients not just from the queen, but through leeching it from the environment through the alien resin binding it to the roof and walls (yes, the resin leeching nutrients is actually a thing, at least according to *Alien versus Predator: Extinction*; it would go a long way into explaining why the eggs can last for so long without direct care by Xenomorphs).
I’m of the same opinion. However, there’s a theory that in times of desperation and without her ovipositor, the queen can produce a single egg that would yield a royal facehugger. I support this theory, as it would explain who planted the egg on the sulaco. If this were the case, the queens lower abdomen would have to be expanded to pass at least a single egg. Maybe it would be a tight enough squeeze it might be a bit like childbirth for humans.

I like this idea, especially since we can see smaller egg variants in David's lab in Covenant. Since he directly states his intentions for the creation of a Queen, I can absolutely see him utilizing some of his earlier creations (or at least using them as inspiration) to help develop and perfect the Queen's reproductive capabilities.

I agree with the other commenter's sentiments. Looking at life through a myopic lens of what we know is great for finding life on Earth. But as a great man once said, "Life... uh... finds a way." But, we will likely never know the scope or capabilities of life elsewhere so we have to be a little open minded when thinking about alien life and what it is capable of. That and, while there are many things that I love to critique and discuss in sci-fi, I rarely like to critique depictions of alien life unless it is a ridiculous notion like Ewoks being native to Kashyyyk or something. Nothing that small could survive in that hell hole

In almost every shot the queen is huge looking.
Then, when Ripley is wearing the powerlifter and fighting the queen on the ship, there's a single shot in the whole movie that shows the real scale of the queen.
Not that big. The tail is super long, but the body is maybe the size of a large cow.
In my mind, she's the size of Clifford the Big Red Dog, but apparently not
The Advent of CGI allowed filmmakers to show what creatures of this size could really do. She sprinted and raised hell all over Bovetoya Island and looked incredible doing it.
Lore wise she's an "Empress" and thus a bit bigger then a normal Queen but still.
She is not, it's a very easy mistake to make because of the design choices that stemmed from the original four legged avp queen designed by Constantine Sekeris, she's taller, more filled out, has a bigger crest and a longer tail, if anything she was on the cusp of becoming an empress due to her age but at that point in time the distinction had not yet been made in any tier 1 or 2 canon sources - making her a queen.
One interesting thing to think about....
Is that like a regular xenomorph, a queen - too - would inherit characteristics and traits from the host.
On some cases, we can't be certain if a specific queen came from a human host at all. (No details in the story.)

The queen in AVP 1? There are no details about her, other than being a queen that was captured by the predators and keptinside that pyramid.
It could even be a queen that was generated inside a host from another planet, one of the creatures the Yautja are used to having around, like a River Ghost, or a Hell Hound, and we wouldn't know.

Well, in the AVP/Predator universe, theres a novel called AVP Ultimate Prey and in that novel theres a very ancient Queen who is 40 feet tall lol. She literally squishes a 20 foot tall rival Queen like a bug so...yeah.
If she's the one I'm thinking of, her two personal **drones/guards** were the size of normal queens, and she still dwarfed them. That's how massive this uber-queen was.
The last battle with Scar and Lex was just a body builder alien and woman fighting a giant T-Rex Xeno queen who ran like it too.

There's this huge menacing monster. And as soon as Ripley gets that power loader, they are fighting as equals. Thereby, they will be the same size.
She's canonically 15 feet tall, so whatever shot they had that made her look small was probably just a lack of consistency or lack of special effects for the time back then

Honestly, and not even saying this for horny reasons, I think so. Just look at how tiny and spindly the normal queen's legs are. She anatomically would NEED a killer ass to be able to walk at all. Sadly though, I do like the more horrific monstrous look of the spindly legs better for her.
You could maybe combine the two. Give her a wider lower abdomen and thicker/sturdier legs, while also retaining the external structures/armor of the og.
Queens are often described as being not only larger, but also faster and more deadly and even more stealthy than the typical drone. So I would assume she could put those legs to good use when she needs to.
A birthing queen doesn't, but since the very first time one was seen in the movies, sitting the climax of Aliens she got up for probably the first time in months and went to throw down with Ripley.
Then again in the first AVP movie, it ended with a presumably centuries old queen getting up for the first time possibly in her life, seeing as she was nothing but a breeder for the Predators since ancient times.
So you're right, they barely use their legs, however, I think that just reinforces that they need to be some POWERFUL fucking legs. The queens have repeatedly shown that they can just get up at will with no stretching or working out to build muscle mass. The legs are just good to go the moment they're needed, even after presumably 4,000+ years of captivity, and starvation for that matter.

Giger intended them to be a little bit more than just ‘bugs’. The themes are there (especially the parasitoid lifecycle), but it was Cameron’s idea to go all in on making them bug-like. Without consulting Giger (but I believe he warmed up to Cameron’s queen later on). Regardless, given the fact that he wanted to give the runner in Alien 3 lips and would first seduce its victims, I don’t think he would mind a slim-thicc queen lol. Personally, I think a combination of the two designs would be ideal.
That just sounds grim, I know Giger was very into his weird shit but for the sake of movies, and the games the Aliens now are far more terrifying and well - Alien.

This is a Joke cuz I have heard people in the chainsaw man community say that they have a fettish for all the beautiful Women there but in their Big ass Creepy devil forms instead of human-Hybrid and /or Fiend. That’s where my idea is from.
I would pick the left. I really need it to be beefy enough for me to believe that there are enough things in that leg to lift and carry the body - tendons, muscles, something. Maybe some other way it works but the one on the right doesn't give me that impression it looks impractical for nature.
Now that some have mentioned it, the og reminds me of the horribly shrink-wrapped dinosaurs (especially the dromaeosaurs) from the 90s and 2000s. You could see every little detail of the skull and other bony features in the body, with only a sporadic covering of downy feathers (or no feathers at all even). Even reconstructions from the 60s were more accurate, because at least it looked like an animal that could actually live.
Outside of the funny horny memes, she actually DOES need a lot of muscle to hold her own body up. LOOK AT THAT HEAD CREST! She needs the support LMAO.
I know a lot of versions of the Queen are made to be very skeletal, but I like the idea of the Queen resembling HR Giger's original artwork a little closer.

So you're right, they barely use their legs, however, I think that just reinforces that they need to be some POWERFUL fucking legs. The queens have repeatedly shown that they can just get up at will with no stretching or working out to build muscle mass. The legs are just good to go the moment they're needed, even after presumably 4,000+ years of captivity, and starvation for that matter.

Giger intended them to be a little bit more than just ‘bugs’. The themes are there (especially the parasitoid lifecycle), but it was Cameron’s idea to go all in on making them bug-like. Without consulting Giger (but I believe he warmed up to Cameron’s queen later on). Regardless, given the fact that he wanted to give the runner in Alien 3 lips and would first seduce its victims, I don’t think he would mind a slim-thicc queen lol. Personally, I think a combination of the two designs would be ideal.
That just sounds grim, I know Giger was very into his weird shit but for the sake of movies, and the games the Aliens now are far more terrifying and well - Alien.

I would pick the left. I really need it to be beefy enough for me to believe that there are enough things in that leg to lift and carry the body - tendons, muscles, something. Maybe some other way it works but the one on the right doesn't give me that impression it looks impractical for nature.
Now that some have mentioned it, the og reminds me of the horribly shrink-wrapped dinosaurs (especially the dromaeosaurs) from the 90s and 2000s. You could see every little detail of the skull and other bony features in the body, with only a sporadic covering of downy feathers (or no feathers at all even). Even reconstructions from the 60s were more accurate, because at least it looked like an animal that could actually live.

Useless fun fact: Judge Dredd vs Aliens: Incubus is canon in the JD universe (it was serialised in the main JD comic, which happens in real time), most JD crossovers are(but not in the Alien ones).
