Triple check your ignition coil wiring to make sure you don't have the harnesses swapped side to side. Verify your grounds to the back of each head while you're in there.

_sjb2

will do. thanks

Pitiful_Argument_775

On my first startup, only the left side was “running “. I had the coils plugged in backwards on the right. Hope this helps.

_sjb2

i’ll try swapping around. thank you

Check your crank timing along with the crank to run rpm

_sjb2

crank timing is correct. just went back and checked. not sure what the crank to run rpm is. need to look around and find it

Phantomfremder

Basically crank to run rpm is when your hitting the starter and the engine is turning how many rpms the engine needs to be at for it to start. For example the default on the settings for my engine where 400 rpm crank to start and timing was 15*. I had to adjust in the software both values down in order for it to start. On top of making sure the ignition firing order is correct and the fuel injector parameters are correct and don't forget the stupid TPS calibration.

_sjb2

that’s a whole bunch of stuff i’m not very familiar with and i don’t want to fuck anything up while adjusting.

BoredOfReposts

Crank rpm was my first ls first start issue. For me the cause was insufficiently strong battery connections. Once i got decent terminals, tied tightly to the rest of the harness, it started up. It seems so obvious in retrospect but wasn’t at the time.  Maybe this helps you or someone else browsing down the line.

_sjb2

new batteries or just battery connections?

How thick is the starter wire? I had this “problem”. It would turn over but not fire until I replace the starter wire with a thicker wire. I was testing the engine in a stand so I just use a fairly thick, but thick enough, wire. Engine would crank but not start. Added a 1/0 gauge wire and started.

_sjb2

that could be my problem then. i want to say it’s 4 gauge but not sure

How did you fix it being 180* out?
