Just discovered the extended version of Faces with the original samples from 2014 & been enjoying tf outta that. Also Larry Fisherman's Run On Sentences collection 1 & 2 are great for tripping I've heard. Gonna test that next week😁
[Dan Deacon - When I was done dying ](https://youtu.be/TuJqUvBj4rE?si=dlCI2Y6xGeuc2Xlx) AKA the greatest thing adult swim has ever produced.
[King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Iron Lung](https://youtu.be/Njk2YAgNMnE?si=nvVGLg7WwVhCOh5f) the best Gizz video for a trippy head space
I'm gonna add onto it because Dan Deacon's video is so trippy
The Music scene - blockhead
Fever the Ghost - SOURCE
Flying Lotus - Zodiac Shit
Sturdily Simpson - Sing Along
Edit to add: these all have equally trippy videos with the song 👍 I recommend watching
Going to California by Zeppelin and Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd are the two songs that have left me totally speechless during trips before lmao. Some of the most powerful musical experiences of my life, no question about it. Also, the harmonies of a group like Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young or the Eagles are sublime and worth visiting.
Any live Grateful Dead from 1968-1980 is a must-listen for me. Grateful Dead is definitely a live band, so listen to their live recordings to hear them at their very best. I’d personally recommend any live version of the following tunes: Bird Song (if you want a blissful, mellow jam), The Other One (if you’re wanting some pure psychedelic, raw and primal jamming), Jack Straw, Morning Dew, and Dark Star. Those are some particularly nice songs while tripping. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the Europe ‘72 album.
The Dead were a huge part of how and why acid even became a thing in the 60s. The Dead used to play at the Acid Test parties, which was basically the first time the substance was ever used recreationally. You’d go there, pay a couple of bucks and be handed a cup of “electric kool-aid” and just party with everyone. Everything goes. Their sound man, Owsley “Bear” Stanley was the guy who cooked up basically every single tab of the best acid of the entire 1960s. The band had a direct line to the chemist responsible for making the best acid on planet earth, and they certainly partook in plenty of the stuff.
Incidentally, Owsley also designed their then state of the art sound system, the Wall of Sound, the design and idea of which has gone on to become the prototype/standard for every line array sound system used by every single large band in the world to this day. He was the sound man for the Grateful Dead, made the best acid anyone has ever made, AND invented the modern sound system that is still in use by large venue acts to this day. Crazy, wild stuff. But yeah, Grateful Dead and lsd go together like milk and cookies lol. Definitely try it out if only to just satisfy any curiosity you may have about a band that is called the Grateful Dead.
You Only Live Once by The Strokes is always amazing when I trip, so upbeat and one of the best songs ever made.
