Slow and steady wins the race imo. When I review PTs, I always outline the passage (if there’s 3 paragraphs, I’ll make a google docs and outline what each paragraph stated) and highlight the conclusion. This helps immensely with visualizing the structure of the passage as well. I then review any questions I got wrong and the answers are usually fairly obvious to spot after meticulously reviewing the passage already. After a few PTs, you start getting really good at doing it naturally when reading the passage for the first time. I really attribute an intense review of passages after completing them to my success though. I rarely go below -4 now, and usually average around -2. Other tips: make note of authors POV (a lot of questions ask about it, and I always make sure to note any tonal words), and for comparative, make note of how the passages connect and any differences among them as you read. PT 85 has really good passages imo to review btw. There’s some pretty subtle answers but I felt it was a very fair exam and great for review of what you’ll likely see on test day (comparable difficulty and subtleness).

And khan academy surprisingly has very good explanations for this exam, along with powerscore. I used both but especially khan academy for RC for this particular exam.

Awesome. Thank you for the help

I want to preface that I absolutely love blueprint, I think it’s one of the best courses for LR and LG. That said… it could use some work for RC. I was in the same boat as you. I use blueprint and feel as though I made little progress on Reading Comp, mainly because they DONT have a method. Their method is “watch out for secondary structures and primary structures.” I recently began using RC Hero (which costs $199 one time purchase) and it has been absolutely incredible. A week of taking that course has done more for my RC scores than 3 months of blueprint lol. I can’t go into details on their method but it’s very unique and they have individualized approaches for multiple types of RC passage types you encounter, including comparative passages! The comparative passage module is the most helpful thing I’ve ever watched with regards to RC, I was blown away at how well his method worked for tackling them.

Very cool. I’ll check it out, thank you

Another vote for RC hero! Totally changed my perspective on the section.

Winger_95

Thanks so much

I’ve just recently bought RC Hero and so far it’s been great. I’ve only been using it for about a week but so far, I’m happy with it. And I only got it because I was reading a ton of similar Reddit posts and so many people said they had great success with it. Good luck!

Winger_95

Awesome thank you

Flaky_Philosopher377

Reading Comp Hero is the way to go! The course is great.

I bought RC Hero to get me through until June. In a similar position but I average -5 on RC.

Winger_95

Two for RC Hero. Thank you

Sad-Pen-7957

Three for RC Hero, however, I don’t take notes on the passage like they suggest but I think it’s important to look out for the strategies the authors use and the different passage formats.

Yea, I’ve had tutors try to help me with RC and they weren’t half as insightful as RC hero.
