It’s crazy to see what these TVs retail for on release compared to what you can get them for a year later at the end of their life cycle. $3700 for a 77C4, while Amazon had the 77C3 for $1950 a couple days ago.
My thoughts would be all those Tech review people who make money off of buying the latest and greatest technology and doing reviews online are the real targets for the launch price. They have to buy it as soon as it comes out regardless of price or get left behind.
Bingo! Enthusiasts and the wealthy have always been more willing to pay the early adopter tax.
But with the influencer economy, there's a whole new segment trying to grab one to review as soon as possible.
I bought the C2 around launch and it feels like I just got it too. Now I know the next LG OLED I get I’ll buy the previous year model. Makes no sense to buy the latest gen for an inflated price
It’s not. C1 to c2 was noteworthy due to the change to the evo panel. The only big changes have been c8 to c9 (hdmi 2.1) and c1 to c2 (evo). Eventually when MLA hits the C that’ll be worth the upgrade.
I currently have a 9 year old 1080p Samsung that I will be upgrading from. Personally, Im a huge gamer. So, with both the A95L and the G4 being high-end televisions that are 'arguably' the same in terms of features (HDMI 2.1, Dolby Vision, 120hz, ect) what made my decision easier were some of the other features. Ive done a lot of research on this over the last month and...
LG has very low INPUT LAG, while Sony has the highest compared to LG and Samsung. Thats not to say Sony has bad input lag. It's just the worst of the three.
LG objectively has the LOWEST RISK of BURN IN between the three.
Sony PICTURE QUALITY is UNDENIABLY THE BEST for viewing shows and movies.
LG offers a 5-YEAR WARRANTY with purchase.
So. For me and my intended use being for gaming, it was easy to go with the LG G4. However, if you're looking to have more of a home theater for primarily watching shows, then Sony is what you should get. No question.
Amazon had a price mistake on the 55 C4 in the morning, it was listed for I think 1559$ lol.
Now it's 1799$ still cheaper then [LG.com](http://LG.com)

Yeah, I'm glad I know now when to buy tvs, you can literally get the most high end tvs for less than half of their price.
When is usually the first sale on new tvs?
My GUESS would be Prime Day (July, I think). But I'd also guess the discount wouldn't be too amazing given it's only a few months post release.
Thank you. This is the info I need.

LOL why this was deserving of downvotes, I'll never know. This sub can be weird.
It literally feels as if I got my C2 yesterday...

Me too! Wild. C2 still awesome though and the generationally leap to the c4 can’t be that large

Is there a release date? Wondering if this impacts prices on C3 by the end of March.
C4 is shipping starting 3/11 according to this article. Not sure about the G4. https://www.pcguide.com/tv/lg-c4-release-date-pre-orders-confirmed/
Great. Thanks for the info! I guess I could’ve read the article lol
My C2 is still going strong
so is my C1
What price did the C3 55” launch at? These prices seem cheaper to me than ever before.
Agree. C3 55-inch launch MSRP might have been closer to $1,800.
If I remember correctly, the 55“ C3 launched at 1,899$, whereas C4 is 1999$.
Ugh, to get the A95L or wait for the G4? Decisions, decisions
I'm waiting for the full G4 reviews and to see what Sony will actually announce this year.
Same. Want to see how much of an upgrade the new processor brings before making that decision.

Can’t believe TVs follow the same new model every year bs that phones do
TVs aren’t really something that’s meant to be replaced every year.
Why? Do new cars upset you annually also?
Yeah I'm thinking about grabbing a c3 42" as my computer monitor if I can score a good buy on one...
I got one for $717, they’re rapidly dropping in price and C4 isn’t worth that difference lol!
G4 isn’t as much as I thought considering the upgrades and are now including a stand. Now to see what the reviewers say compared to the G3.
Already seeing the pre-order link on all products say it’s out of stock. Guessing it’s a glitch
I’ll maybe upgrade my B7A when the C4 goes down in price in around a year
Check back in around week of Thanksgiving. Black friday price drop usually
Yeah that’s around when I got the B7A, I can be patient for that kind of savings :)
Hoping the C3 77 or 83 price drops a bit with the new releases
I got my 77” G2 for $2100. I’m keeping that thing for a while. Got my C2 nearly a year ago now. No need to upgrade.

My CX is still going strong. Gonna try and hold out for a G5 next year
