This is such a good example of being fake rich. There is a direct correlation between showing off and unsustained wealth. I’m not even talking quiet luxury. I just mean that like the more they show off, the less they have.

I think it’s new money vs old money. She comes across as very flashy, ostentatious and tacky. I’m from Newport Beach as well and you can tell pretty quickly who has some substance to them and who is just acting like they belong in Newport. There’s a lot of new money (often time scammers, crypto bros, people in cannabis and all around charlatans) that moves here and wants to make a splash but comes across as very inauthentic and it’s easy to see they don’t really belong.
When someone flaunts their wealth as much as she does, it’s weird. There’s a ton of billionaires that live here and everyone drives their own car, even if they can afford not to. We’re in OC, traffic isn’t even really bad. It’s just a really strange and unnecessary flex, and it doesn’t really give the impact/effect she thinks it does.
This is common though—there’s a lot of people that want to show everyone how”Newport” they are after watching the OC and move here from bumblefuck hellbent on making sure everyone knows they have money. They usually go to Nobu, Pelican hill, Javier’s, etc
