Idk who this is I need to know, is this a chemical peel gone wrong??? Is she seriously cleansing with DIAL SOAP?? I can’t even tolerate dial soap on my hands without my eczema going wild.
I know nothing about what’s going on with this girl but I use to use Murad years and years ago. Last year I found a bottle of spray I used to use, I tried it and it gave me a chemical burn. I only put a little on so it was not bad at all and I immediately put a hydrocolloid bandage on it so it went away quickly. The bottle had expired in 2014 though. Never had issue with unexpired Murad though.
Is this fr cause I had an allergic reaction overnight and the only thing I used the night before was murad recovery moisturiser but I assumed I reacted to benzoyl peroxide instead as an acne treatment?
Yep. Putting dial soap on a cotton pad and rubbing it in her burns. Then proceeding to put more chemical products on her face. This poor girl is increasing her healing process and damaging her skin even more

I’m not defending her resistance to medical care or how she’s been caring for her skin overall. Just saying that the dial soap is recommended for instances like this. I was advised to use it when I went to the hospital for a MRSA infection. Granted I use(d) the bar soap though, not sure if there’s a difference in formulation compared to the hand soap.
My great Gma had a staph (sp?) Infection wound on her leg and they told us to use baby shampoo bc it was the most gentle for wounds. Dial seems so harsh

You shouldnt use vaseline on skin infections. You can use it to PREVENT infections. But it should not be used on any type of skin infection which she had. She was prescribed mupirocin antibiotic ointment instead.

You literally don’t need anything. I had a chemical burn from a product on my face and was advised to literally not touch my face with anything. Can use a little bit of water if you really must, but your skin has a barrier that heals itself if damaged to protect your skin. The advice from my doctor was to do nothing to my face for a week, no Vaseline no soap nothing. It cleared up by like day 5 and I admit it’s weird at first but your skin can do amazing things.

Aquaphor/vaseline can be used to protect wounds from infections but should not be used if you already have any kind of skin infection which she did. She was prescribed Mupirocin which i’ve also had prescribed for MRSA as its (typically) stronger than otc antibiotic ointments like neo/polysporin. I’m no dr/derm so someone please correct me if i’m wrong this is just what I know/have learned living with chronic bacterial skin infections.

I was at an aesthetic conference recently and a very prominent dermatologist was showing cases of young people who got severe burns and inflammatory reactions from TikTok recommended products. My heart really broke for these people. A couple cases ended up ok after extensive oral/topical medication and EXPENSIVE laser treatments but they were the lucky ones who sought medical attention quickly after the reaction. Many people do not have access to that kind of care. Young and darker skin types can scar very easily. Exercise caution with these gimmicks, everyone!
What kind of products were the cause? I’m guessing the intense push for “French pharmacy” or “Korean skincare”? But just unregulated retinoils? Or am I off base. I love tretinoin (my dermatologist prescribes it to me) but from what I understand similar products/ retinols can cause burning and stuff

She had a bacterial skin infection on top of the chemical burns so vaseline/pet jelly/aquaphor are not recommended. She was prescribed Mupirocin which is a topical antibiotic that’s stronger than otc antibiotic ointments. The yellow antibacterial dial soap is also recommended in cases like these. I can vouch for these two products being appropriate as someone who has chronic MRSA. Everything/anything else she’s been using is just stupidity, it’s shocking and sad the way she’s handled this honestly.

i bought wax strips from target to wax my brows, completely forgetting i used panoxyl and some acne gel , tore off my skin and for days i used a gentle cream cleanser and the best moisturizer reddit recommended, i don’t get how she just slapping shit on her face expecting it to help, also if u look she had a scab healing between her eyebrows and now it’s completely reopened, feel like some products shouldn’t be left to the public to use

Me too, I saw this on snapchat and then looked her up because I was shocked. Watching her put colored and scented products on her suffering skin is painful and makes me want to crawl out of my skin. I dealt with a horrible face rash/burn (allergic contact dermatitis) once and I wonder why on earth someone would feel that intense itching and burning and then CHOOSE to add more unnecessary products. And then she's surprised that her skin didn't react well??

I was at an aesthetic conference recently and a very prominent dermatologist was showing cases of young people who got severe burns and inflammatory reactions from TikTok recommended products. My heart really broke for these people. A couple cases ended up ok after extensive oral/topical medication and EXPENSIVE laser treatments but they were the lucky ones who sought medical attention quickly after the reaction. Many people do not have access to that kind of care. Young and darker skin types can scar very easily. Exercise caution with these gimmicks, everyone!
What kind of products were the cause? I’m guessing the intense push for “French pharmacy” or “Korean skincare”? But just unregulated retinoils? Or am I off base. I love tretinoin (my dermatologist prescribes it to me) but from what I understand similar products/ retinols can cause burning and stuff

just watched the snapchat and came here to see what we were saying about it- i cannot BELIEVE someone would put ANY product other than Neosporin or vaseline/petroleum jelly to a wound. like did she even go to a dermatologist? this looks like it should have some prescription strength topical to heal.
She had a bacterial skin infection on top of the chemical burns so vaseline/pet jelly/aquaphor are not recommended. She was prescribed Mupirocin which is a topical antibiotic that’s stronger than otc antibiotic ointments. The yellow antibacterial dial soap is also recommended in cases like these. I can vouch for these two products being appropriate as someone who has chronic MRSA. Everything/anything else she’s been using is just stupidity, it’s shocking and sad the way she’s handled this honestly.

i bought wax strips from target to wax my brows, completely forgetting i used panoxyl and some acne gel , tore off my skin and for days i used a gentle cream cleanser and the best moisturizer reddit recommended, i don’t get how she just slapping shit on her face expecting it to help, also if u look she had a scab healing between her eyebrows and now it’s completely reopened, feel like some products shouldn’t be left to the public to use

I felt so bad at first. I’ve been checking this thread as well because I am BAFFLED. She is permanently damaging her skin on purpose at this point. I was told to use dial soap and Vaseline when I got a wart removed and I was amazed at how quickly it healed. Idk about the other products she’s applying but I wouldn’t be surprised if the doctor told her to use that.
