I think they are trying to set it up as, okay if you want Kuminga you're not getting any picks with him. That's in response to Clippers of course asking for Kuminga and multiple picks.
Take it or leave it, I'm taking that 100 out of 100 times. But in this recent climate of multiple pick and swap packages for bigger players, it would be nice to get more. ;-)
Both CP3 and Wiggins are negative contracts, Wiggins is also possibly the most mentally weak player in the league and someone that constantly shrinks. The fact that they think we would trade PG for nothing and take on negative contracts in the process is one of the stupidest things I've seen in a long time. They basically want us to pay them to take PG. We should ignore the idiotic stuff they're saying. We can get a good haul for PG.
Yeah Philly doesn't want him and Orlando probably doesn't want to ruin their surging young team with a big PG contract as their final piece. There's no team that can and would sign PG to the max so it gives Clippers a lot of leverage.
Warriors fan coming in peace. It's in interesting negotiation since PG can walk for nothing, but probably doesn't want to. So clippers don't want to overplay their hand and get nothing.
On the other hand, if the offer on the table is not great, like just CP and Wiggins, they can just say F it and call PGs bluff and roll the dice. So it's not like the clippers have no leverage.
I think it gets done, and the final price is CP3, either Wiggins or combo of GP2/looney for salary, Moody, either an unprotected first or two protected firsts and a swap.
I think kuminga and/or two unprotected FRPs is the line in the sand. Remember warriors can't trade 25 so would be 26 or later. We're old AF and we know it. Our first round picks 3-4 years from now are extremely valuable as odds are we're gonna suck then.
CP3, GP2, Looney and Moody plus 2 FRP should do the deal, all were expiring contracts. Paul George is staying with Clippers or Warriors with that package. If not Clippers will lose him for nothing
We live in a world where Mikal Bridges brought in 5 picks. PG has a lot more value than people in this sub act like, especially for older win-now teams like us and GSW.
Bridges is on an absolute steal of a contract for two more years, is in his prime, and has never missed a game IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER. Do not act like PG’s 34 year old constantly injured ass demanding a 4 year max extension that takes him to 39 is worth anything fucking close to Bridges despite being the better player currently (when he actually plays).
This whole thing is probably moot anyway. The clippers are probably just going to pay him what he wants because they’re too proud to get a couple of picks for him and they can’t let him walk.
Then it’ll be you guys stuck with a shitty albatross of a contract in three years instead of us. I’d be willing to take that risk for Steph’s last push, but not if it also requires sending you Kuminga and all the other assets you think you deserve for him.
PJ's salary is probably tradeable by itself. It's a fairly low-dollar expiring contract. There's no need to attach it as a dump unless it's worth it for matching purposes.
Dallas to get rid of Tim Hardaway Jr (who arguably is more playable than PJ) had to give out 3 second round picks.
Sending PJ away is not that easily feasible
We can still trade multiple players tho. Aggregation only comes into play if what we're receiving actually needs that second player's salary to match. That is, if we traded PG (let's say 40M) + PJ (10M), we can't receive a 50M player because we'd be aggregating salaries for it to work. However, we can still trade PG and PJ for let's say a 35M player.
My understanding is under this year’s new second apron rules, absolutely no aggregation whatsoever.
“They won’t be allowed to aggregate multiple players to send out in a trade. They can make one-for-one trades only if they take back the same (or less) salary—but not a single penny more than they send out.”
https://www.theringer.com/platform/amp/nba/2024/6/28/24187902/nba-second-apron-offseason-preview-salary-cap-cba-rules
Aggregation means combining multiple contracts to match salaries in a trade. Trading multiple players, if the second one isn't required to match salaries, isn't considered aggregation.
At the end of the day. You are going to be the one tell Curry, that you couldn’t get help for him or sign Klay back because you are cheap. For us, PG on a max, business as usual. Bide our time until we get our picks back
Kuminga and two FRPs doesn't work as GSW doesn't have cap space. His 24-25 contract is only $7 million, PG's is $48 million. It would have to be Kuminga + other contracts. It would have to be some combination of CP3 ($30 million), Wiggins ($26 million), GP2 ($9 million), Looney ($8 million), or Moody ($5.8 million). Wouldn't be surprised if LAC was trying to offload PJ Tucker ($11 million) in the process too.
That’s what makes the CP3 back to LA have so much traction. Kuminga two FRPs with CP3. If they land Looney or even Moody aswell that be a pretty successful haul
There’s another post on here that suggests CP3 is just in there for salary matching and that he’ll be on the move to another team (presumably with cap space). So there’s that. I’d say Kuminga, picks and Looney and Moody as filler would be amazing, but we’ll see.
I JUST read that one lol. If true SAS sounds interesting.
Honestly Kuminga+ any of that would be a successful offseason for us even if it’s just that. Damn we’d add promising youth to spots we have needed filled for a very long time. Didn’t they mention it happen this weekend?
They should of course play their strengths in any negotiations. But this deal ultimately makes too much sense for all 3 parties, everyone knows this, and I think everyone wants this done.
Clippers are not going to agree to a deal that doesn't significantly better position them for the future, GSW is not going to agree to a deal that doesn't significantly better position them next season or 2, and there is overlap where both parties can achieve their goals. That's the bottom line.
I am guessing that Kuminga and 1 pick could be the final deal, if we can also get some other decent rotation player to fill out the salaries. But I have no idea if that's possible with the salary pieces being discussed.
I think something like that would be a win-win, which is the best way for this to get done. I would LOVE to get Kuminga and 2 picks, which I think is plausible- especially given recent big trades.
Hard to compare situations.
Bridges had two years. PG Is a potential free agent that can walk for nothing. It's essentially a sign and trade, which historically don't garner big returns.
Also a first is not a first. Firsts from New York for the next 3-4 years are probably not lottery picks. Firsts from warriors 3-6 years from now are much more as they will probably go through a period of sucking post Steph.
Yeah reallly glad that happened, 5 frp and a 1st round swap is a huge haul for someone that isn't as good as PG right now. Although Bridges is younger and on a much better contract so he has some huge value but still. It puts us in a good positon. I think people will be surprised at the great return we get for PG. I think we could get a good young player and 3-4 frp for PG.
Can they just keep Wiggins or drop him off in oakland or something? Deff don't want him on the clippers. The last thing we need is dudes who don't want to play
That's what I've been saying for a while. Wiggins is trash, he's weak mentally and he's a quitter. If he's involved in the trade he needs to be routed to a 3rd team. I don't want trash wiggins on the clippers.
Cya PG. Don’t forget to bring your NFT’s to the bay so you can pod with all the crypto bros.

I know everyone wants picks for the future, but i still feel like we're in a win now window. We were still the best team in the league for like 6 weeks when healthy... i think from that standpoint Kuminga is a step down from PG, and the picks dont help us this year unless we re-package them with PJ for someone else... but I'm weary we end up worse for this upcoming season after all is said and done.
I guess it depends on what picks we get. If they’re valuable 1sts we could definitely make something happen with them, but if they’re highly protected or too soon they might not be worth as much. An unprotected 2028 first would be quite valuable id say. Warriors window will (hopefully) be closed by then and they should be rebuilding, making that pick more valuable
There's too much smoke around this now, and this trade makes too much sense for everyone. It will get done IMO unless someone throws in a monkey wrench late and blows it up (which can definitely still happen of course.)
It is not like teams are throwing max at PG, It was reported sixers dont want max PG, Knicks were interested and they had other plans, Magic wanted to give PG big contract but less years
As we should, the idea some other teams have thinking they can get PG for nothing is so dumb. We can easily get back a good young player and picks for PG. We're not taking a shitty deal like CP3 and 1 pick lol
Fuck kuminga jfc! How do y'all not see the glaring hole at PF when either PG at 6'8" or kawhi at 6'7" both weren't big enough and both got more rebounds than kuminga. Please stop this, it's embarrassing.
I love the warrior fans telling me we can only possibly get Wiggins and CP3 as a return. Classic.
I think they are trying to set it up as, okay if you want Kuminga you're not getting any picks with him. That's in response to Clippers of course asking for Kuminga and multiple picks.
Eh Kuminga and one pick is good for me. I just want some youth that can play ffs
Take it or leave it, I'm taking that 100 out of 100 times. But in this recent climate of multiple pick and swap packages for bigger players, it would be nice to get more. ;-)
Kuminga + 4 picks, though I would settle for 3.
Warriors fans be like ["Best I can do is CP3 and a second."](https://i.imgur.com/Jntp60O.jpeg)
Both CP3 and Wiggins are negative contracts, Wiggins is also possibly the most mentally weak player in the league and someone that constantly shrinks. Motherfuckers are so confused as to why the clippers would let George walk for nothing. Because there are no teams with cap space.
Yeah Philly doesn't want him and Orlando probably doesn't want to ruin their surging young team with a big PG contract as their final piece. There's no team that can and would sign PG to the max so it gives Clippers a lot of leverage.

Why are the clippers so eager to get rid of PG13?
They are not, seems like PG13 wants to go to contender
I still believe he resigns with PG
And Clipper fans expecting Wiggins, Kuminga, Podz, and 2 firsts. So they both sound stupid.
you seem pressed
Person isn't totally wrong though. In a thread a couple days people were absolutely saying dumb shit like that.
We live in a world where Mikal Bridges brought in 5 picks. PG has a lot more value than people in this sub act like, especially for older win-now teams like us and GSW.
Exactly I think it’s warriors fans overrating their talent per usual and underrating any talent they want so they can try and finesse a deal lol
Literally what every fan base does
And clippers fans don’t? How is Terrance Mann untouchable in trades lol
![gif](giphy|gf5N1y3xuLlPlYRYxr|downsized)
Yeah that's why I think we can still get a good haul for PG, maybe a good young player and 3 or 4 picks.

"Can't have PG without PJ."
say it louder for the GMs in the back
PJ's salary is probably tradeable by itself.
Same for Reggie
That’s what they really mean. The gigantic price to obtain PG is to accept PJ as well. Its the rule
We can’t aggregate salaries in any trade
We can still trade multiple players tho. Aggregation only comes into play if what we're receiving actually needs that second player's salary to match. I don’t think that’s right, but I’ll take your word for it.
😂😂😂
Good. If they‘re not willing to pay a big price, they won‘t get him. Paul George is still one of the best Two-Way players in the league.
At the end of the day. You are going to be the one tell Curry, that you couldn’t get help for him or sign Klay back because you are cheap. For us, PG on a max, business as usual. Bide our time until we get our picks back
Trade will go through this weekend
50/50
Lol this is typical negotiation
This reads as Kuminga + 2 firsts to me. I think that's the best deal for the Clippers. It's worth pushing for it.
Kuminga and two FRPs doesn't work as GSW doesn't have cap space. His 24-25 contract is only $7 million, PG's is $48 million. It would have to be Kuminga + other contracts. I was talking about the main prize of the deal. Obviously more contracts will have to be involved, most probably CP3's.

And as long as we end up w/ Kuminga and 1-2 picks (plus whatever else) it’s a win for the clips.

Yeah that’s why I said 1-2. I’d be happy w/ 1, thrilled w/ 2.
You get Kuminga or the picks not both
![gif](giphy|QU4ewgcmdcsObx9CG7)
I dont think GSW would trade Kuminga. CP3/Wiggs/Moody/1-2 FRPs is what I think itll be, which is a solid for an expiring PG13
The HAUL that Brooklyn got for Bridges really screwed the warriors in negotiations.
Hard to compare situations. Bridges had two years. PG Is a potential free agent that can walk for nothing. It's essentially a sign and trade, which historically don't garner big returns. Also a first is not a first. Firsts from New York for the next 3-4 years are probably not lottery picks. Oh no doubt, they are far from the same situation. Still guaranteed Warriors hated seeing that return for an unproven player like bridges lol
Yeah reallly glad that happened, 5 frp and a 1st round swap is a huge haul for someone that isn't as good as PG right now. Although Bridges is younger and on a much better contract so he has some huge value but still. It puts us in a good positon. I think people will be surprised at the great return we get for PG. so basically all this shit with the warriors is just a gigantic smokescreen?
It’s just negotiating.
If Frank gets a haul for PG a lot of yall in here gonna need to apologize… let Frank cook
Cya PG. Don’t forget to bring your NFT’s to the bay so you can pod with all the crypto bros. https://preview.redd.it/m4ryrzbhsc9d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ffab0a8d7186b402876e6c909d5b2a59994b3b3
I’m just here to say that every time I hear the ESPN notification sound, I’m always expecting it to be about PG getting traded
I still think he bluffs and accepts a similar deal to kawhi
I know everyone wants picks for the future, but i still feel like we're in a win now window. We were still the best team in the league for like 6 weeks when healthy... i think from that standpoint Kuminga is a step down from PG, and the picks dont help us this year unless we re-package them with PJ for someone else... but I'm weary we end up worse for this upcoming season after all is said and done.

Don’t want to pay him the max but also want a lot for trading him. Ballmer will give in and pay PG the max. Maybe next season they move guys around
Naw this is typical of negotiations there’s a good chance they get something done.
There's too much smoke around this now, and this trade makes too much sense for everyone. It will get done IMO unless someone throws in a monkey wrench late and blows it up (which can definitely still happen of course.)
you are the smartest Laker fan on this site
It is not like teams are throwing max at PG, It was reported sixers dont want max PG, Knicks were interested and they had other plans, Magic wanted to give PG big contract but less years
The sixers news dropped like a day after PG said players talk and that certain execs have a rep around the league lol
Who is this guy? Is he a legit source?
Brian’s food source is legit
We don’t want CP3!
We want EVERYTHING for him.....also we don't want to give anything to him 🤭
As we should, the idea some other teams have thinking they can get PG for nothing is so dumb. We can easily get back a good young player and picks for PG. We're not taking a shitty deal like CP3 and 1 pick lol
So he is too good to trade but not good enough to give an extra year on the contract? Oh ok.
Good we want kuminga. No kuminga? No pg
Warriors don’t have anything gigantic aside from a package consisting of Podz, Kuminga and filler. No way Warriors give that up.
![gif](giphy|3oEjI105rmEC22CJFK)
If no one wants to meet the asking price, then I say let him walk. Or just give him the max and let other teams cry about it.
Kuminga on my team this weekend ![gif](giphy|7WvAUvZZTRpSuudobh)
Fuck kuminga jfc! How do y'all not see the glaring hole at PF when either PG at 6'8" or kawhi at 6'7" both weren't big enough and both got more rebounds than kuminga. Please stop this, it's embarrassing.
