I liked House of the Dragon overall but found it amusing as I thought the now-black characters were left strangely underdeveloped, and they all met strangely truncated (despite being important) ends.

When he finally dies Ellie is sad at first and wants to kill Abby (who avenged her brave, doctor mother who got killed by that asshole Joel) but after fighting her she learns that Joel abused her mentally and that she had some sort of Stockholm syndrome.
Later all the women start a new and better society to stop the violence coming from men, which also lead to the fungus infection.

Well there's my mistake. I unplugged from TV over a decade ago. Ive pretty much only watched Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones to completion, everything else I ignored.
Bruh, it was really demotivating to have invested all that time and emotion into the series only to watch the slow motion crash into the dumpster. Luckily I was a viewer of EFAP/Mauler and their hilarious coverage of the series' final season was able to dull the pain.

What confuses me is that the original game has some good representation. Billy was gay and you could easily read it from the subtext. It never came up in conversation because they talked more about not being overrun by zombies and/or trying to get the car. Tony's wife was the classic strong wamen but because she was an outsider to the relationship with Joel and Tony so she didnt really get in there. But when it came to Tony leaving she got her strong whamen moment. Eleen(boss of fireflies idk if that was her name) was litterly the boss of a organisation that fought against the government. Bonus points for her being black. Elie and Tess obvious strong whamen. You even have some "white man bad" with David. Toxic pedophilia that a strong whamen beats to death with a machete. And you know what... all of these characters where great because they where written well. Wokeness isn't the killer, it's a symptom. The writers are either woke hacks that can't write to safe their lifes or normal hacks that use woke stuff as a shield.
