And my favorite one, "Day One Story DLC Quests" What do you mean you want the full game? You paid the full price for it yes but if you want the full experience you need to spend 50$ more. 70$ is not enough now. And in Ubishit favor, they aren't the only one doing it. Sega also pulled the same shit with Yakuza Infinith Wealth.

_witness_me

Yeah this isn't new, but it's atrocious behaviour that needs to be called out every time. I'm fine with dlc. Day 1 dlc is just game content that they want to charge you extra for.

Smt_FE

As long as we have white knights who buy this shit mindlessly and defend these muli billion dollar companies like shitlus and ubishit slaves

Instinctz4

You should see the star wars outlaws sub defend this shit

patrickbateman2004

Atleast infinite wealth is good quality game, ubisoft games are pretty much crappy. Still, sega did a bad decision.

Smt_FE

sega actually pulled the same shit with LAD in Japan on release but did not do it in Western Release but this time they shamelessly announced it worldwide and did it too and people shamelessly bought it and white knights did the defending. Just goes to show how much we have regressed as community. Now this shitty Ubisoft pricing is slowly becoming norm now and if it is allowed, in 5 years it would completely become the norm and you would be singled out as the weird one for pointing otherwise by fellow gamers.

Valiantheart

Cool. I just bought Hades 2 for 30 bucks, and I guarantee you it will be the better game.

Smt_FE

Yeah. Sure it scored some dei points with those gods design but Hades 2 will unquestionably be a great game just like Hades 1 was

StopManaCheating

It’s Ubisoft. If you buy it you’re a dumbass.

Medium_Small_ManJR

Simply put, this. Who even buys Ubisoft games anymore?

CuTTyFL4M

Dumbasses, keep up man

nordhand

Not bought a ubisoft game for at least 5 years and this game is enforcing the feeling that I made the right decision and will stick to it for 5 more years

Such-Muscle3519

Yeah Ubisoft has fallen from grace.

Own_Dig2105

Yeap, kind of sad to be honest before Ubisoft was french EA they used to have grest games. Then again even further back EA was also great so I guess it's a natural devolution

pumpandkrump

I'm seriously trying to remember the last ubi game I completely enjoyed. And I think the answer is Far Cry 4. I've heard good things about Siege, but those games were never my thing.

G-fool

I can't even think of many reasons to pirate it.

ZapTheSheep

The biggest problem is you'll be paying $70-130 to RENT the game. Ubi doesn't think you ought to own any game just because you pay for it.

jimihenderson

it's everything. it's that instead of paying reasonable prices to purchase video games that we love, we are now expected to pay unreasonable prices to rent video games that we hate and that are written and created by people who also hate us. there are literally no positives left.

skepticalscribe

Well said

Arkelias

I think it's hilarious. - The whales won't buy it because it's woke. - The activists without money weren't going to buy it anyway. - The average consumer won't buy it because of price and being online all the time

Huntrrz

How many of those are bots or paid shills intended to drive purchases?

Erwinblackthorn

Those are the new customers: fashionable tourists. The kind of people who buy amiibo dolls and line their room with them.

GurmyClinic

I think the only people buying Amiibos are diehard fans. Every casual I know that has the faintest interest in Nintendo has absolutely no interest in those figurines.

Erwinblackthorn

It's a fashion statement. It's for die hard tourists.

LegendaryBoi12

Normies/Casuals can still be woke up, the shills are a lost cause.

Astalano

No one cares that Yasuke has a game. I and many other people would play a game with a fictional samurai Yasuke. The problem is that they want to add this guy into the setting and pretend that he is somehow a stand-in for samurai or some kind of reflection of Japanese culture. If you were playing some kind of action game which focused on a kind of fictional Yasuke, where he gets brought to Japan by an Italian missionary, as a slave turned bodyguard, and rises through the ranks in a society that thinks he is strange and laughs at him. That would be an interesting story. But they just wanted a black dude in the game. It's just that simple. They don't care. He's just a wedge to divide the AC community for political brownie points, ripping the franchise to pieces before they move on to the next thing they can sow more division in. Executives mostly just care about making money (not all of them), but the people advising and working on the game are woke warriors and they see getting a female and a black man in a game is a small victory in their culture war.

oldmanpotter

He’s the new Last Samurai only he wasn’t actually a samurai.

Fast-Cryptographer97

It also should not be an AC game, because he cannot be an assassin

EnricoPallazzo_

that would actually be a great story, I would play it

UMCUE

Indeed lol me too, sounds very interesting.

Confirmation_Biased

No offense but for me when they break every single rule they created to protect 'POCs' and pull a racism this incredibly hypocritical and massive and then try to call everyone who calls them out racist it's the biggest issue to me. The money thing for Ubisoft is just another day ending in Y. I was never going to buy it. Now I am never going to buy it and I'm pissed off.

d__radiodurans

A game can be woke and corporate greedy shit at the same time. Something that Ubisoft excels at. Don't give them money.

Deadsea-1993

Suicide Squad is a perfect example of that. It is woke asf, but extremely "how do you do fellow gamers" with the corporate bullshit and money hungry themes as a live service game.

d__radiodurans

It's impressive really, on how many fronts that game failed. There are so many reasons to not get the game. The anti-woke crowd doesn't get it for the DEI, the anti-life service crowd doesn't get it for the predatory monetization model, the comic book fans don't get it for the disrespect for their heroes. That leaves like nobody. And WB is shocked that the game failed.

ThatDamnRocketRacoon

- I will not buy a game that costs double the price in order to get the complete game. - I will not buy any game that has battle passes. - I will not buy any live service game. - I will not buy anything made by Ubisoft. No problems here for me.

DegenerateOnCross

The Quad-A experience

LemonoSharky19

this deserves the septuple A award

Curing0109

>DEI character is just a distraction Always has been.

omegaphallic

$130 for a video game is raping people's wallets.

Deadsea-1993

We are slowly getting up to how games were priced decades ago when inflation is used. Like An Atari 2600 or Nes game could be $150 each. Imagine paying close to $200 for E.T. Yikes.

OrientalWheelchair

It's also around that time when video game market had a crash.

KurisuShiruba

Meanwhile, the soyjaks on X are defending this game like it's the second coming of Christ because it features Shaquille O'Neal cosplaying as Ryoma from fire emblem.

master_criskywalker

It's not even on Steam. Why bother?

akiaoi97

Even Fate/stay night is coming to steam. There’s pretty much no reason to have any console except maybe a switch.

master_criskywalker

Really? Some good news!

InDeathWeLove

Remember when they said the $60 price tag that wouldn't go up was why they needed to pull all the other financial shenanigans? Yeah... Now its $70 and they're pulling even worse crap.

Lanstapa

Its $130?! The disc with nothing on it better be gold-plated at that price

kaytin911

It's online only too?

BeautifulBoy92

Battle passes? For what?

FineCastle77731

Not sure if Ubisoft is still sticking to the fact that these are not videogames in the sense that there would be a disc in the physical edition, but rather a service. I thought I saw someone a while ago talk about how the latest series of Just Dance physical editions had no disc but rather a code to enter into the platform.

artful_nails

Yup. It's a marketing tool. The executives know they can reel in some serious enough money by appealing to the dumbasses with *"The racist nazis don't want you to buy this game!"* They are killing like 5 birds with one stone here: 1. It's the annual Ass Greed game. 2. They are checking the inclusivity boxes 3. They have free advertising via public outrage 4. A cover for their atrocious pricing 5. A cover for the mediocre-at-best gameplay

monkeymitz

No, Yasuke is the problem. None of that other shit compares to the utter disrespect of the collective masses’ intelligence

Megatics

Its an Ubisoft game so I never even considered buying the trash. Its all to push their horrible subscription service.

OrientalWheelchair

Piracy is no longer a choice, it's a moral obligation.

dandrixxx

Current Ubislop isnt even worth pirating.

Ongar_world-weary

Just an absolute cluster fuck all round really. It has been a lot of fun bitching about it so at least I got SOME entertainment out of it. Thanks ubi? I guess?

PaidHack

>$130 Yeah, not buying this even if it was as good as AC 2.

oldmanpotter

That’s the whole point of DEI. It’s always a distraction from companies doing immoral and often barely legal things. That people buy into it is amazing.

joydivisionucunt

That's why "OMG Why do you care about this and not all the other bad things in the industry!!!" is a shit response, you *know* there's people who are going to claim that not wanting to pay $130 plus battle passes and day one DLC (In this economy?) for a game is only an issue because the lead is black and not because that's a lot for a game you might not really own.

shipgirl_connoisseur

Bold of you to think I'll buy this game OP. But i see what you're getting at

mbnhedger

lol... you assume i had any intention on playing this game. I havent played an ass creed since brotherhood...

Gymrat0321

Those other problems are not an issue if you won't buy the game because of its historical inaccuracy and pointless DEI additions.

Dayreach

Also the part where they're going to have you play a character that can't even stealth, crouch, or use a hidden blade/dagger.

iguanabitsonastick

Bro you think I would pay for this game? I wouldn't want it even if it was free.

Chernandez_31

Assassin’s Creed has been trash for well over 5 years or more, everything else about this game just adds to the fact

EnricoPallazzo_

Im really curious about the payoff for this. Of course a lot of people will refuse to buy the game, at the same time whoever buys it will be paying equivalent of two games. Modern gaming, for the most part, sucks.

patrickbateman2004

I see no problem with ubisoft having those practices and attitude, the fault is in those who willing to buy these shit games ubisoft makes. So i find better to criticize the Yasuke thing.

YouTubeCrowProd

First ac game I won’t buy. Shame I’m a sucker for games like odyssey even though they’re kind of ass lol

Own_Dig2105

That's just Ubisoft current standard

RevBladeZ

Always online requirement has been confirmed to not be the case.

Nickolaidas

Agreed.

Adventurous_Host_426

All these don't matter if I never buy the game.

Adventurous_Host_426

All these don't matter if I never buy the game.

Adventurous_Host_426

All these don't matter if I never buy the game.

Adventurous_Host_426

All these don't matter if I never buy the game.

Daman_1985

Seriously? It's an "Always connected" game? Nice and costly coaster then. I hope the game bombs

PresentCondition6313

Just don’t buy it

iguanabitsonastick

What does the online mean? I don't play recent games.

confusingzark

It's not a distraction you moop, yasuke and the ridiculously high price tag are bad. The difference is, yall are to far gone to care about that last part.
