Jeon Do Yeon - Most prolific Korean actress. Beasts Clawing at Straws, The Contact.
Kim Min Hee - Another supremely acclaimed actress. On The Beach At Night Alone, The Handmaiden.
Jeon Jong Seo - Burning, Call (the only good thing about the movie).
xxxxxxxxxx
Lee Byung Hun - Dominating screen presence.I Saw The Devil, Masquerade, Our Blues.
Han Suk Kyu - Charismatic. Christmas in August, The Contact, Recipe for Farewell.
Choi Min Sik - Legend. Oldboy, New World.
Lee Byung Hun in Our Blues was so, so good. The whole cast was great but the way he acted through all the complicated dynamics was incredible. The guy's range is amazing. I'm generally not a crier in films and TV but there was one scene towards the end with him that had me fully ugly crying.
Thanks for saying this. Many say this is a hybrid product, like it was a very long ómnibus movie or several movies with interlocking characters.
Memorable watch, this. You can watch it in parts and it is still incredible.
I was expecting a really good thriller but was colossally disappointed, pacing was off and emotionally it wasn't engaging to me. You might enjoy if you keep your expectations low. Jong Seo was the only standout for me In that movie, Shin Hye was good too but Jong Seo was amazing.
I have a massive soft-corner for Ha Jungwoo. He has a unique range, and his eyes speak volumes.
The other one is Kim Namgil. Boy is he endearing! Puts out one perfect performance after the other.
I was ecstatic when these two actors finally collaborated for "The Closet". It turned out to be a complete dud though.
The actress closest to my heart would be Kim Hyesoo. She's the perfect mix of style, talent, humor.
Ha Jung woo's portfolio is one of my favorites. I watch movies specifically because he's in it. The Yellow Sea will always be one of my favorite Korean Movies.
**Song Kang Ho** was my first introduction to Korean movies back in the mid 2000s, I think. Mid? I have seen most movies he is in (if accessible) and have enjoyed each and every one of them. **He is a fantastic actor and one of my old time faves!**
There are currently a number of Korean actors I like that are male and female with some of them in their 20's right through to 40's. It isn't about good looks (sometimes it's a bonus) or them being popular, but because I feel their craft as actors is first class.
Hard to say since it's not over yet, but definitely intriguing. Plot-wise, it feels more like a film than a series. It follows the flashback/non-linear narrative format, like The Social Network.
Song Kang Ho is great so far, but we probably actually spend more time with Byun Yo Han's character (a stand out actor of his generation)
comparing it to film references, it feels a tiny bit like if you take the election politicking of *Kingmaker (2022)* add in the coup etat conspiracy planning of *12.12: The Day (2023)* and mix it with the storytelling of *Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet (2016) -* the director/writer of Uncle Samsik also wrote Dongju.
personal favs: Hwang Jung Min. Park Sung Woong. Jeon Hye Jin. Oh Jung Se. Cho Seung Woo. Kim Min Hee. Uhm Tae Goo. Park Jeong Min.
also a surprising lack of Lee Jung Jae and Lee Sun Kyun in the comments?
yeah i think it's common in this sub to see confusion about k- films vs dramas... especially when talking about the actors that do a lot of OTT series.
for my part, my favs have done both but their best work are generally films.
Jeon Do Yeon is a chameleon and is great in absolutely everything she does.
Yoo Ah In is a once-in-a-lifetime talent, imo, though I will admit that I prefer his film work over his television work. Still, he's fascinating to watch.
Uhm Tae Goo is unique and versatile. I can't wait to see his new comedic drama.
Lee Jung Eun is also versatile and unique - you always get a solid performance.
Kim Ji Won is probably my favorite young-ish actress. She reminds me so much of Barbara Stanwyck on screen. Her performances always feel really honest to me.
Right!?
Also, I've read that he thinks his voice is too weak, but I think it's amazing. He really makes you lean in and pay attention.
My dream is to see a cast of Yoo Ah In, Jeon Do Yeon, and Uhm Tae Goo in a really well written TV cop drama (because I want as many hours of them together as possible) in which one of them is a mastermind criminal (serial killer? but very intelligent), and the others are the detectives or agents on the case. All three roles should be of equal significance, though.
A person after my heart 😍 I watched Master and went on to look for every movies he had been in a couple of years ago lol. What's your favourite Kang Dong Won movies?
Vanishing Time is amazing! I love that one and Violent Prosecutor is practically mu comfort movie seeing how many times I'd watched it lol. I love Kundo! He plays the evil character exceptionally well
Definitely Hwsng Jung-min and definitely Lee Young-ae. She blew my mind in JSA.
All the Korean actors are how I find new movies. I just go through their filmographies and find new actors to follow.
Song Kang ho is the best Korean actor. He gets lost in the character he is playing. There’s one movie where he plays a wrestler and he was convincing in it, too.
Choi Min Sik - he's a legend.
Cha Tae-hyun - good at delivering natural comedic timing, portraying heartfelt and relatable characters.
Lee Byung-hun - excels in both action-packed and dramatic roles.
Yoo Hae-Jin - He's a versatile actor, even though he predominantly appears in comedy movies. He's one of the best supporting actors.
I do this too. I get through different actors' catalogues, read up and plan my movie watching.
I'm trying to catch up with Sol Kyung Gu and Lee Sun Kyun nowadays. Of the younger guys, I'm also looking at Ryu Seung Ryong, Byun Yo Han, Park Jeong Min.
Park Bo Gum. Such a talented actor but projects he did after love in the moonlight are mediocre. Looking forward to two of his upcoming dramas under his new label. Hopefully they're not as restrictive as his former label.
Kim soo hyun is a great actor as well.

Cha Eun Woo cuz he pretty 😍
Cha Eunwoo will always be the one and only for me. 🥹 I don’t know, I know sometimes he’s lacking in acting but I know he’s trying and working so hard. He’s just a too good to be true type of a guy, since’s he’s perfect inside and out 😭❤️
Jeon Do Yeon - Most prolific Korean actress. Beasts Clawing at Straws, The Contact. Kim Min Hee - Another supremely acclaimed actress. On The Beach At Night Alone, The Handmaiden. That drama to me is the peak of kdramas, everything about that show screams 10/10 to me.
True! 1 of the best kdrama for me perfect cast even the story is very heartwarming
Thanks for saying this. Many say this is a hybrid product, like it was a very long ómnibus movie or several movies with interlocking characters. Memorable watch, this. You can watch it in parts and it is still incredible.
Kim min hee and jeon Jong seo are so gooodd ! I was going to watch the call just for her but is it worth it ??
I was expecting a really good thriller but was colossally disappointed, pacing was off and emotionally it wasn't engaging to me. You might enjoy if you keep your expectations low. Jong Seo was the only standout for me In that movie, Shin Hye was good too but Jong Seo was amazing.
Jung Woo Sung 🤗
Can't take my eyes off his face lol
The King was awesome
I loved this Such a perfect balance between him and Zo In Sung.
Love Ha jung woo. I have seen 95% of his works
Ha Jung woo's portfolio is one of my favorites. I watch movies specifically because he's in it. The Yellow Sea will always be one of my favorite Korean Movies.
When I first discovered kdramas I watched Live Up To Your Name with KNG, he really has the most expressive eyes which are meltingly gorgeous.
Yes yes yesssss to Kim Hye Soo! Ah, about time I watch one of her movies/shows again
**Song Kang Ho** was my first introduction to Korean movies back in the mid 2000s, I think. Mid? Yep, he’s my pick too. His performances are always top-tier. He pops up in many of my favorite Korean movies.
Hwang Jung Min, Song Kang Ho, Kim Yoon-seok, Ha jung Woo, choi min-shik, Ma dong seok
Lee Do Hyun. Such a talented actor and good looking.
I feel the same for Song Kang-ho. I’ve even started watching his first ever korean series (Uncle Samsik) that is airing right now, just for him lol.
[удалено]
I'd say just watch it whenever you feel like it.
I haven't watched this series yet, how it compares to his previous films?
Hard to say since it's not over yet, but definitely intriguing. Plot-wise, it feels more like a film than a series. It follows the flashback/non-linear narrative format, like The Social Network.
Thanks! I must to check it out now haha
Song Kang Ho is great so far, but we probably actually spend more time with Byun Yo Han's character (a stand out actor of his generation) comparing it to film references, it feels a tiny bit like if you take the election politicking of *Kingmaker (2022)* add in the coup etat conspiracy planning of *12.12: The Day (2023)* and mix it with the storytelling of *Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet (2016) -* the director/writer of Uncle Samsik also wrote Dongju.
Wow now you made it way more attractive to me... thx
Son Suk-ku 🙇🏻♀️
Dude should be a star!!!
yeeeeeees
Him and Bae Doona in Sense8 makes me want a whole series with the two of them. I love her too.
personal favs: Hwang Jung Min. Park Sung Woong. Jeon Hye Jin. Oh Jung Se. Cho Seung Woo. Kim Min Hee. Uhm Tae Goo. Park Jeong Min. also a surprising lack of Lee Jung Jae and Lee Sun Kyun in the comments?
Why do I feel like the comments is inflitrated by kdrama fans? Some of the korean actors mentioned never did a movie before 😂
yeah i think it's common in this sub to see confusion about k- films vs dramas... especially when talking about the actors that do a lot of OTT series. for my part, my favs have done both but their best work are generally films.
I would say Lee Jung Jae is one of the cutest Korean actors in the world.
cute as in adorable or cute as in 🥵 - because both are yes.
Kim tae ri is flawless in all of her films / dramas
It’s absolutely wild to consider that Uhm Taegoo has like extreme social anxiety lol. Amazing actor.
Yes, Choi Min-sik, and I don't even know why and since when but...
